Fine by me, he is already stating what many Christians already accept in the world (and not just within Catholics).
He stated that he sees no problem with evolution being the scientific view of God's forming of creation, and that the Big Bang very well could describe the sudden spark of creation at the will of God. I agree with him.I'm surprised a Catholic hasn't already proven that the charge is false.
If true, it probably isn't official Rome's dogma.
Big Bang is definitely not bible!
Like a true catholic...loyal to the Pope over Scripture. Was this the view of the Popes thru the centuries? He stated that he sees no problem with evolution being the scientific view of God's forming of creation, and that the Big Bang very well could describe the sudden spark of creation at the will of God. "...loyal to the Pope over Scripture" is just another insulting flaming zinger and raw bigotry. If you wish to defend young earth creationism, please do so with an intelligent argument. The Popes of previous centuries did not have access to all bodies of scientific knowledge that we have today. Truth (scientific) cannot contradict truth (theological). Scroll up. I think you missed that.Like a true catholic...loyal to the Pope over Scripture. Was this the view of the Popes thru the centuries?

For those who believe theistic evolution, riddle me this:
How was there death of the evolving man before the fall?
Call it what you may, it is still the Pope over Scripture. The Popes own words are the flaming zinger thrown at those who uphold a literal view of Scripture. An intelligent argument based on so called evolutionary science? I'd rather go with God's revelation..."...loyal to the Pope over Scripture" is just another insulting flaming zinger and raw bigotry. Here is the reference...because 'evolving man' had no soul until adam, hence they functioned like any other thing. Unless you believe plants and animals were immortal too. I dont even believe theistic evolution and that was a simple one.
Allegorical/symbolic interpretation of Genesis is a denial of God's power and truthfulness as well as opening the flood gate to all kinds of lame brain interpretations. As Scripture says...Truth (scientific) cannot contradict truth (theological). Both are correct and non-exclusive of each other. The truth of evolution cannot be denied except through scientific methods. The theological truth of belief cannot be denied except through theology.
Strict literal interpretation of Genesis is highly problematic for young earth creationists, because it reduces God to a magician. God endowed humans with reason; a brain, He expects us to use it.
