Have you ever read the history of the world...until free speech we could not even own a bible in English...free speech is all born out of the desire for people in America to worship God as they understood the bible....that what the reformation was all about....have you ever read any history?

No I can tell your not a real believer in Christ...you rejoiced that these men had been killed and said they deserved it...and real Christian would never have those feelings.

Man I have read much history. I can own a Bible whether you make it illegal or not. My faith doesn't depend on being enslaved to a nation.

Show me where I said I rejoiced in these people dying. Show me where I said they deserved it. That's all what you said, not I. I said if you poke a bear expect to be maulled, because that is the consequence. I said I am not surprised this happened because they do provoke bears. I say since they are against us, don't expect me to fight and die in vain for them and that the secularist should not seduce my brethren to fight their own war for them. I say let them fight their own war if they will not listen. That is exactly what happened. There you go slandering and making false accusations against me again.

You can now...duh because of free speech and the people who fought and died for you to have that right....if you don't know that you don't really know much history...It was illegal to even print a bible until men fought for freedom and the right to free speech. and if you say your a real Christian I guess I have to allow you that here on this forum...you have the right to call yourself what you like :)

Nope not at all. I can and will read and own a Bible even if you make it illegal because my faith does not depend on your vain nation. Not one person has died for me except for Jesus.
 
Our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are not given to us by governments but by Divine Providence. Throw away this love of nation and state and stand with the true Kingdom. Citizenship in America gives great perks, just like Paul's Roman citizenship. But in the end, it is meaningless unless put to use in the Kingdom of God.

I'm actually quite against them to be honest... - At least the part that makes it illegal to "Insult or offend." - I think it's going too far as even true statements could be said to insult or offend.

So, as the follow up question to this - would you be in favour of removing all restrictions on pornography and inciting violence?... I daresay that you wouldn't be.

Actually can I ask that of everyone in this thread who is "fully in favour of free speech." Would you be comfortable with no restrictions on access to pornography, in streets, advertising, etc.

Or would that make you uncomfortable?

You would not even have access to a bible if not for free speech and that men fought to give you that right.

Liberty did not just happen...it happened when men who could read the New Testament begin to teach its truths to others and men understood that liberty is Gods desire for men. Liberty is a direct result of people being able to read the bible and have a relationship with God based on biblical truth....That's why England and the USA have been blessed ...because of the righteous bible believing Christians.

Well the courts have judged many of these things and have tried to balance the clear need for free-speech as it relates to politics and religion with the moral rights of the people to which the law is suppose to serve...the answer is its not always easy to balance free-speech with the rights of the society to protect themselves from things such as porno of lewd type speech. But political and religious speech are the main focus of the term in the legal sense.

Yea this fellow seems to have a real hatred for this country and seem to rejoice in the killings in Paris and said they deserved it...not sure I would trust him to live in my basement...if you know what I mean?

Just at its face value it's a horrible thing to say about men and women who have sacrificed so much for us. This kid is throwing the baby out with the bath water.

As for access to the Bible, it be hard not to have access to the most widely published collection of books of all time. After all, Christians in the dark land of North Korea can obtain Bibles despite the Bible being highly illegal there. I don't see them trying murder Kim Jong-Un, rather they pray for him to come to know Jesus. Yea, the great Christians of Korea do not go to war and seek to murder people as you do sir. They do pray and fellowship in secret and smuggle in food and supplies for people and they do keep the faith. They are mightier than any bomb you or Kim can create because of their love for Jesus.

Look.. try to read some history! The reason its so widely published now is because of free speech and men who stood up to defend that principal. If not for free-speech you would not have access to it. If not for free-speech you would not be on this forum making all these silly statements. Free-speech and liberty has its down-side but it has made the Christian West the most stable and prosperous nations in the world.

A person with "a love for Jesus" would never hold the attitude, much less verbalize that a mom, dad's, brother, sister etc etc died in vain. Would you say that to their face...that their son's or daughters sacrifice isn't good enough for you? Your credibility and "your love for Jesus" is phony as a 3 dollar bill.

I've probably read more history than you. Again, there is no such thing as free speech for one and even more generally there is no such thing as freedom in this world. For two, even in the ancient sources the Bible is the most prevalent collection of books by leaps and bounds with the Homeric Epics coming in a very distant second. Knowing history you would know outside Israel, and even inside Israel during certain era, that many times people tried to ban the Bible or suppress it. They all did fail.

Even in modern times the Bible is banned in a ridiculous amount of countries. Yet that doesn't stop anyone from obtaining and reading it if they want to.
