I agree with this, but will add....the Word of God does not contradict itself.....

Baptism (immersion) cannot be sprinkling (Rantizo)

Jesus as the 1 and only mediator between God and men cannot also include Mary or a Pope

we can rightfully and biblically deduce if something is correct and or false based upon the revealed truth found within scripture...or a lack thereof...right?

I looked ccc up, and I got ccc shoes and bags??? Yes the RC have a catechism, so do a lot of protestants churchs, like the Presbyterian one I go to. But the official doctrine of the RC is Vatican II. (I don't agree with it, but at least I know what I disagree with).

As episcopalians go, what can we say of them in comparison to the RCC.

Why are you concerned about denominations? Are these not the things that divide those in Christ. I follow Apollos, I follow Paul, I follow Peter. There should be no denominations, but only those who follow Christ. Our claim should be that of Paul's:

"As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
 
Would you like to do a study of Church history and their various branching off and why with me?

Been meaning to research more into it but will post an image when I get a chance.

Hey. I was Catholic. And now I'm reformed. (With a few other churches in between.) No one has to be "all knowing" to get the general gist of services. Just because you haven't taken the time to figure it out, doesn't mean no one has.

So basically, you want people to guess what you want and only accept those things you want -- real or not?

I think I get why you have such a problem with the in-laws.

There was only 1 church in the beginning. With mans wisdom, we now believe there to be many many churches (denominations). I'm sure there are many who go into buildings every week where people talk about God and pray and teach, but if they are not following the order that God instituted in the bible then they are not the church and will likely hear the words of Jesus in the end say:

Wow, hitting below the belt to drag in law troubles into a simple thread about various church denominations.

But I have only read the 1st and last page...probably missed the fighting in the middle.

This splits the major protestant branches more....many stemed from the Church of England split.

I haven't really researched much about it but have been meaning to. Will share if you are interested, otherwise will just keep gathering notes and figuring it out myself.

As for how it all plays in the end times? God people are scattered among all denominations and nations..wheat and tares mixed in the churches and the world. Only God can truly tell the difference.

This chart lacks a bunch of truth......

1. Straight through a line of true churches.....Jesus started his church and promised the perpetuity of it.
2. Many groups left off that held to the main tenants of truth
3. Some groups listed did not have their roots in some that are listed

Hi I asked about denominations.
Why is it so difficult for people to discuss them?
Isn't it something that separates us in certain ways?
Are people here on this forum offended in some way if we talk about Lutherans, or Methodists, or Presbyterians, or Episcopalians?
Are there not people on this forum that belong to these denominations?
Are their beliefs in some ways molded from these denominations?
Aren't there barriers to be broken here?
Am I the only one here on this forum with these concerns?
And even if I were, shouldn't I be treated with a little more respect, if for no other reason than that you are all born again Christians and you want to put your best foot forward instead of attacking someone you think doesn't agree or believe what you do?
Do you see my point?
Or should I add more?
 
It's an overview. Which denomination do you feel isn't represented?

It covers the basic ones the OP lists.
 
Denominations give you a blanket idea of church beliefs. However each church and each member is different and what they stress is different.

In our new members class we go through church history in a limited scope.

I have always put it on my list to study the differences more.
