It's all in the sales and marketing.

1) Would you like a covenant sign that is pretty, colourful, and will make you feel happier when it rains?

2) Or would you prefer a covenant sign that makes you more virile and masculine, improves stamina, reduces disease, and is preferred by the fairer sex?

Lol. Not that I think God gave Abraham a choice. But if it was worded thus, I think guys would choose option 2 every time. ;-)
my boys (8 &10) recently found out about this.......
they had a reaction of:
:eek: You let the Dr do WHAT to me?????!!!!!

When they learned it was because of covenant they sang a MUCH happier tune,
though they still looked puzzled :unsure: when dad said "trust me, you'll thank me when your older"

God knew what he was doing when He commanded it for the eighth day. Far better getting it over with then, than getting problems and needing it later, when he will remember everything! Then he would be thinking the below applies. :)
