Hey everyone, I'm new to Christian chat, but it seems really nice :). Anyway, let me just start off by saying I'm 17 and a junior in high school, and I've been a Christian all my life. This past school year I met a new guy and we instantly became good friends. Over the course of about 5 months we were best friends, accountability partners, and then we realized we both had feelings for each other. However, after liking each other for about a month, we realized that neither of us were ready to date yet (we date with a purpose, not just for fun). So, he decided to go back to being friends until he's ready to date (which he says will be after high school) even though we still have quiet feelings for each other. My problem isn't with what he's doing, I respect him even more for being wise enough to postpone our relationship so it can prosper later. But my own problem is coming from my immaturity--I have a hard time trusting God with this. What if he stops liking me? What if something goes wrong? I know I should trust Him in my head, but it's so much harder to do in reality. I really like this guy and the relationship has major potential. Any encouraging words would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Respect your friend's wish to remain just good friends. If you try to push it further before you're both ready, you will ruin your chances altogether. And speaking from firsthand experience with dating guy friends, NEVER DO IT! Many relationships get ruined because people date their best friend, and things go south. You're only 17, much too young to date, and IF this guy is the one God has set aside for you, then in HIS time, things will fall into place. :)
