Hi everyone,

I am new to the boards and in need of prayer. I have been married for over 5 years and am finding myself at a very low point lately.

We have just recently left our local church due to many many issues and have not been going to church anywhere since. I know a lot of the problems I am struggling with right now have to do with the fact that I am spiritually numb right now and vaunerable to attacks from the Devil.

I am also very loney right now. Much of my social life was in our church and is family right now but it isn't the same as having a close friend I can talk to about anything. We have one couple we get together with regularaly, but we never have deep conversations about anything. It is all very pleasent and polite conversations. I have no good close friends at this point in my life and no one to talk to about this stuff.

I have talked to my husband about my struggles in our marriage and my desire to get spritually filled again. But it seems that he hears what I say and feels bad about it like he has let me down and takes it so personally that I hate bringing it up cuz it hurts him. Nothing gets done bout anything I bring up. It's like talking to a brick wall. I am at the end of my rope.

I don't know what to do and feel like I am starting to fall out of love with him. I am sick of feeling like I am the only one who cares about our marriage and our faith.

Please pray for us.

So sad to hear this...it is heart breaking to hear how often this is hitting so many marriages as of late. Stay strong and keep praying to God to work on your marriage. If i may suggest, both can try and sync up with eachother with a plan and set a small short goal to start with; for this both need to be willing to.

Id like to share the following:
Its normal to feel the love be affected during this period of cold in the marriage, i went through this my self but with the help of God, my heart began to heal and our marriage prospered.. Next it jumps to the other partner, here my partner enters depression, gives up and loses touch with God...this leads to her love jumping outside of our relationship and shortly after it ends our marriage..

My message with this is that as long as you keep God with you, there is Always hope, the moment you give up, it all falls apart and darkness seems to cloud the judgement from what i have witnessed. I pray that you guys truly be able to work through this.

I hope i didn't come off as a know it all, i just wanted to share some experiences and support however i can. God Bless and ill be keeping you in my prayers!

Ug, I feel for you, and I can so relate. I won't give you any platitudes......this is a journey you have to go through. Seek God with all of your heart. He is there. Perhaps leaving your local church was a good thing.....who else can you fellowship with>? Do you know of a happening home church>?

Hugs, praying for you and all you ask for in Jesus Christ is Lord.
Keep looking to Jesus, He is with you always. :)

God bless

Welcome Bluezote. I know its not your typical church but I have come to love the CC members as my spiritual family. There is much fellowship, learning, and edification here. The way my schedule is I haven't belonged to a church for some time but I thank God for leading me here to be among this body of believers. I'm sure you will fit right in.

Thank you all for your paryers and advice. Last night my husband and I had a talk. I was honest but loving with him and he with me. We both know it is hard at the moment but we agreed that we will get through it together. I feel much better today and have a very different outlook. I know that the problems are still there but they are not hopeless and will take some work and lots of prayer.

It is a very good thing that we left our church. We put a lot of ourselves into it and it broke our hearts. My husband said it felt like breaking up with someone. He has not been quite the same in his faith since then. I will be looking to fellowship elsewhere. I realize that my relationship with God is between me and God. I can not and should not wait for my husband to be spritual, to seek out becoming more spiritual myself. If I am to be a ood Christian wife and helpmate to my husband, I need God. I will pray over him and for him and trust that God will work in his heart and return him back to a life of living out his faith. Please continue to pray for us. I know Satan will be looking to dishearten us. He wants us to fail. A good marriage reflects the Father in heaven and the church. The devil does not want our marriages to be a beacon to the lost. He rips them apart all the time to his advantage. But God is good and His love endures forever. Through Him all things are possible. Through Him we have victory and through him I will do what I can to turn things around in my marriage.

Leaving a church you have given so much to is heart-wrenching. I had to do it two years ago, when the pastor got weird and off track. God led us to a new church, and I am growing and alive in Christ again.

And it is hard on the marriage. I am so glad you had a good talk. Just remember, it is a journey. That means you may both slip back and be sorrowful about what happened. But every step forward with God is a step that will help you.

I urge you to find a new church, and check it out thoroughly. And I will be praying for you.
