Would we be in the ungodly mess we are in now in the USA had we Christians prayed faithfully for our leaders? A great deal of mischief has been wrought in our land by ungodly decisions of the SCOTUS, striking down good laws, substituting their own legislation-from-the-bench for voter & legislated laws.

And now this idea of homosexual marriage has been promulgated by the courts. But what the SCOTUS really needs to do is to reverse its reversal.

Wickedpedia:
Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558[/URL] (2003), is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court. In the 6–3 ruling the Court struck down the sodomy law in Texas and, by extension, invalidated sodomy laws in 13 other states, making same-sex sexual activity legal in every U.S. state and territory. The Court overturned its previous ruling on the same issue in the 1986 case Bowers v. Hardwick, where it upheld a challenged Georgia statute and did not find a constitutional protection of sexual privacy.

When they argue this marriage issue before the SCOTUS, IMHO they should go for persuading the SCOTUS that they ought to go back & reverse Lawrence, which is at the root of the problem. With sodomy between same sex persons again declared a crime, there is no question of blessing a crime with the name "marriage."

At the same time, a decision should be made that homosexual marriage has nothing to do with equal rights, as everyone has the right to heterosexual marriage and not to perversion.

I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men; for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity. < 1 tim 2

At any rate, we should be praying faithfully for the courts. They seem to be a satanic stronghold in the USA. And we should be praying over the appointment process to the courts.
