Since joining CC, I've discovered all these controversies that exist among Christians. I didn't even know they existed, but it has made me really question what I believe in regards to these topics. Some of them are more serious than others.

I've started to read through the Bible in hopes to find answers to my questions. I've been praying for wisdom for myself that as I read I will be able to know what it is that God is trying to tell us in the Bible.

Proverbs 3:5Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[SUP]a[/SUP]

This is very encouraging, Elizabeth. God bless you in your pursuit of His truth.

Just relax and meditate on Gods' Word. The bible is the story of redemption plain and simple. We tend to complicate things if we over think them.

i pray for you to find the time to read, limited distractions at work and home. i pray wisdom to know where to read and reread. enjoyment on the journey.

Faith comes by hearing the word, and understanding comes by faith.
Look to Jesus always in faith, and put your trust in Him. :)
I have found this always to be the cornerstone of understanding and trust , Jesus. :)
You are in my prayers in Jesus's name.

God bless

If you only focus on Jesus no matter what comes, you will do well. I agree read His Word and do it prayerfully and do not be discouraged. Jesus said;
Matthew 18:19

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven". In this I stand with you Elizabethlear and hold the promise given By Jesus that you will know the truth.
Lord Jesus I lift My sister Elizabethlear to you, She has witnessed she has an enquiring mind and wishes to know you in truth. Jesus be with her and protect her through all she will go through. Strengthen her resolve not to be side lined and by your Holy Spirit open your word to her heart and guide her where you want her to go. In Jesus name Amen.

I think it is the way it should be. If you go to a regular church, you just sit, listen stand and go. There might not even be a hello, bye, or fellowship. I know I've been in churches years, and very rarely would it be a conversational closeness, unless your told to go shake hands, then in other's it's friendly at the time of doing that, but when it's over there's nothing. When Jesus walked and talked about his Father's kingdom, he met many, at dinner, at weddings, at Mary's and Martha's and Lazarus home, had dinner together, and even those churches then, there was a lot of controversies going on, as Paul has written, there was an openness, and a closeness. I think it's alright when we all are what we are, we grow, and tomorrow, we could be convicted by the Holy Spirit, not to do those things again. The beauty of this is, that we as believers, have the Holy Spirit to teach us, and by his convictions we change, and try again. NO one is perfect. We accept all, because Jesus did, and he knew that this was right.
