I'm asking for prayer from whomever is willing to offer it as I am beyond desperate now.
I'll try to keep this short and not go into too much detail.
Right now, after 11 or 12 years of ongoing problems and increasing misery, I feel I am at a breaking point and have repeatedly considering ending my life as an escape. (I am currently in counseling to help with this and other trauma but it's slow and expensive.)
During this time period I was a full time caregiver first for my mother, as she was dying from cancer, and then my father who became substantially physically disabled and elderly. He passed away in 2022. I had no help (no siblings) and found it both physically and emotionally draining. It ruined me financially as well, but I chose to do it out of love for my parents.
During this same time period my neighborhood began to change and we got new neighbors. The first was a violent, mentally ill (schizophrenic) drug user and dealer. He terrorized the neighborhood with acts of violence and threatening behavior, as well as incredible amounts of noise. We had little to no help from the police or local courts and lived in constant fear. He eventually died.
However new people with connections to the former neighbor moved in. While they have not been violent (yet) they make unbearable amounts of noise, in particular pounding LOUD music that often shakes my house and my body, wild outdoor parties that go on all night and have vehicles that have been modified to make extreme noise. I often have to leave my house or stay in the basement, because the noise and vibration makes me sick. I can no longer sleep in the bedroom and increasingly don't want to eat. My physical and mental health are rapidly declining. The police are no use and everyone is afraid to complain because the drunkenness and drug taking and repercussions (fearing getting stabbed or shot).
I am not in a financial position to sell and buy a home elsewhere and may lose this house as it, as I need to get back into the workplace but have been unwell since these people arrived.
I pray and pray and pray and ask God to set me free from this ongoing torment somehow and to let me have peaceful, safe home again so that i can heal and get my life back on track after so many years, but things just seem to get worse. I am single and mostly alone with little family left.
Any prayers greatly appreciated.

"This may be difficult to grasp. Prayers are rarely if ever answered in a
way we want or think they should be answered.
'I have learned over the years that my spiritual discipline has brought about
things in ways I never thought of, yet were instrumental in bringing about things
I prayed of. And this being the importance of striving to maintain a spiritual
connection with the Holy Spirit.
'And daily perseverance I have learned to be essential, a God awareness and a
quiet time each day in spiritual
contemplation, and it works so long as one works at it!

Maybe , just maybe , God is not going to make things better for you where you are , because maybe He has opened a door for you to walk through it , but you just have not seen the opening yet...
There is a huge world outside your neighbourhood , and possibly Christian centres who can help you...
I do not believe God wants you to carry on living in a dungeon of despair , to the point you cannot bare to live any longer...

I am truly sorry you are going through this , I really am...Accept what is going on a round you , and start making ways to move out , and may the Lord our God guide your steps as you walk by Faith and not by sight...In Jesus name Amen :coffee:

I understand you - and i know that God works in ways that don't always seem apparent or logical to us.
I try to stay close to the Lord but finding it extra hard right now.
Thanks for your reply

Hello Rosemary
I am not "wed" to staying where I am, especially in the longer term. In prayer I ask for relief from this torment whether it be my neighbors who go, or me. As such I ask for guidance and direction and an open door or window that might lead me to a better life as well as the strength and energy to move on, if that's the plan I am meant to follow. I am so drained right now that I barely function from lack of sleep and eating some days. And I am in the process of seeking help from a Christian counseling service.
Thank you for your message.

I am familiar with these verses. I try to do that, but after more than 10 years of things getting worse and no apparent "answer" I get weary beyond belief.

You say you cannot sell and buy another house. Have you considered selling and using that money to rent instead. While I know it might feel horrible selling a house without actually purchasing another, don't focus on what you are loosing but rather what you are about to gain from moving. Your peace of mind and health is the most important. You will gain your freedom, peace, your life, happiness, perhaps new friendships, new adventures. It seems like the neighbors aren't doing this to hurt you specifically that's just the kind of nasty human beings they are, so there's is little hope for them to ever change. Maybe God wants you to move somewhere cause he has better things for you.
