If a Christian tells you they will pray/have been praying for you, don't just shrug it off with a "whatever" mentality. Prayer is a very beautiful, powerful thing. Embedded within the very core of prayer is love; if someone is taking the time to pray for you, they genuinely care about you. ;)

Amen to this! I think its mostly because people have stopped trusting that they don't really believe it when someone tells them theyre praying for them. It's because they put trust in men. But when we know these are christians who are praying for us, we trust the Holy Spirit that lives in them. :) Prayer is powerful :)
