Prayers going up, the Creator descending, what does this mean since He is ubiquitous?

  • “to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from each one of us. *For in Him we live and move and have our being*, as also certain of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.” (Acts 17.27,28).

Why a ladder with angels ascending and descending on it once the Creator is omnipotent?

  • “And he dreamed. And behold! A ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to Heaven! And behold! *The angels of God were ascending and descending on it*!” (Gen 28:12).

How does something come up to the Creator?

  • “Because of your raging against Me, and your arrogance has come up into My ears, therefore I will put My hook in your nose, and My bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way which you came.” (Isaiah 37.29).
  • “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their evil has come up before Me. (Jonah 1.2).
  • And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” (Genesis 6.13).

Why does the Creator need to go down if He is omniscient?

  • “And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of Adam had built.” (Genesis 11:5).
  • “And Jehovah said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which has come to Me. And if not, I will know.” (Gen 18:20,21).
