I have always felt the power of your prayers in my life and I feel the need to ask you for you to pray for me again. Too many things to list are troubling me and I feel that God is telling me to "Have faith and trust me."

Had someone call and tell me those words, but still I am scared and paralysed. I know I need to move and do things. Having faith doesn't mean being frozen still, but darkness surrounds me and I cry out...God where do I put that next right and faithful step?

darling Ariel.

my sister is always telling her grown daughters, when you don't know what to do, do something.

she bases it on this--

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. (Prov 3:5-6)

verses so well known they can almost seem trite.
but did you see it?

He will make your paths straight. :)

Jeremiah the prophet said
I know, LORD, that a man's way of life is not his own; no one who walks determines his own steps. (Jer 10:23)

Prov 16:9
The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

God is with you. He is for you. He is sovereign. you are His, and He will get you to the place He wants you.

i am praying. ♥

I will pray for you for guidance
I need prayer for guidance also. I am stuck on a few things myself. Dear lord please guide us with your. Light. Show us the path to take. Thank you amen

Missteps merely mean we run out of a place to put our next foot. (Dead end.) With your desire to follow God, I don't see any dead ends that take a very long time to get there. Sort of like being in a maze but the places where you can go off course have the dead end withing a few feet, so you return to the right path quickly.

Step! And trust God to tell you "hot" or "cold" once you do step. But he has nothing to say without taking that step first. Trust him and take a step.

(And this is straight to Ariel. Some of us are too stupid to remember God is our cloud of smoke and fire in front of us. And by stupid, I mean ME, but I doubt I'm the only stupid one.
:p)

Yeah but sometimes I follow the fireflies or other bright shiny things, then look around lost in the forest far from home.

we 'wait', we learn to wait on Him for our guidance and next-step...He is not only 'inside' of us,
but right there 'beside' of us all the time...Loving Him brings great reward!

whatever we do, whatever we say, wherever we go, in all of our ways we must acknowledge Jesus,
and He will direct our paths... 'Great peace have they who love Thy Law and nothing shall offend them'...

a really good, thread here, TY Ariel, for being so open-hearted and humble...

loved Lynn's post and the others...

our fragility really comes to the surface sometimes when we feel our weaknesses
and a need to work on them. we believe that it's our great desire to grow -up in Christ,
but then we must wait for our Director/Jesus to speak and guide us on our way...

no matter how head-strong we can get, it will be His Way and no other for those of us
who worship and adore and obey Him, our Holy Saviour, Jesus Christ...

Yeah, but I'm a city girl now. The lightning bugs and forest is only part of the park, and the park is only a block. If you get lost, it won't be that long. He wants you to go through. That bright shiny thing? That's God giving you the same fire-cloud he gave the Israelites in the wilderness.

I'd follow you simply because I believe you have the spirit to keep following that fire-cloud. Me? I feared I'd come out on the other side of the city, instead of the other side of the park.

I was hiking the Appalachian trail this summer with the Methodist Youth and it taught me a lot.

I spent a lot of time with just me and God.

I got lost, walked in circles, constantly choose the WRONG form on the road, hung up my hammock and just felt like giving up.

It got so bad and I was so tired that a grassy flat bug infested rock looked like a soft fluffy bed.

13 plus miles in one day carrying at least 20 lbs in your back with 4 hours of sleep in a bug and 41st infested wooden shelter?

Yeah I was beaten and despairing.

Told God, if he wanted me to get to the shelter He would have to get me there because I didn't care if a bear are me and I died at that point.

He got me there and I remember the fireflies,

They have me hope that maybe they were the camp fire and I was almost there.

I laid down and slept, stopped and prayed, but somehow God gave me strength to keep walking the trail one foot at a time.

Looking back at my trip in the wilderness, I am so thankful for the comforts of home....family, friends, soft beds, flushing toilets, warm baths....ah amazing.

I loved the peace in the wilderness and the closeness and lack of distraction from God and His creation.

But I thought...this journey on this earth is like the wilderness because we are physically away from God. This world is not our home. While we are here it's hard to imagine how Heaven will be, but still amazing to contemplate.

Father God, you say if any one lacks wisdom, to ask you and you give freely. I pray that your word be a lamp unto their feet. Let your will be done, come through Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus, amen.
