Hi Ini, let me first say, you might want to skip this post, if your not open to different view points. I don't necessarily follow along very well with the majority of views on the CC. With that said.....
I think a better way to put it is, you want to sacrifice, and put your needs below, your better half. If you want your better half to make your life better, it just might be the wrong idea. Just as a reminder, divorces are around 50% in Western countries, so you might be in for a rude awakening, if you get married....Well, you have a 50% chance of making it though, depending on the country.
Jesus made the example for husbands and sacrificed His life for believers, and believers (spiritual brides) sacrifice their lives for Christ, or at least that is what the hope is. Not sure if that makes sense, but it does on this side of the screen.
So, there is a lot of sacrificing going on. I think the modern world is a very me oriented world, where people aren't normally sacrificing their time, are patient, and like being obedient to traditional values. Maybe this is why, marriage isn't what it used to be many times.
Hopefully this helps, if not maybe it will help someone else. One last thing, while your waiting for your "better half", you can use some of your time getting ready in becoming the best spouse, you can be. Maybe you can start learning about things that guys want in a relationship and what you want in a relationship, and use that as some kind of model for any future relationship, or partner.
Personally, giving up on relationships, has been really the best decision I ever made, for my mental health. Also, so much less trouble, and worry. That's my take, but it's not for every one.
