@Psalm1

Could you write your messages a bit shorter with no quotes, or else turn the quotes into quotes? I know the forum got messed up here recently where the quote function isn't automatic, and it puts our posts in a quote box. But you can quote manually using [*quote] before the quote and [*/quote] after the quote.... taking away the * from that code, and it will make a quote.

>>The old fashioned use net style with the carrots next to it<<
>>for a quote also work if you want to go old school<<

"And quotation marks are better than nothing."

And if we take away your parenthetical comments which aren't in the text of scripture (there is a warning about adding to Revelation, too) there is no evidence for pretrib for that.

A lot of pretribbers say the church goes away for seven years, like a seven day bridal feast, but here we are at the end of it, and the wedding hasn't taken place. What I see here is that the bride is made ready, so Christ goes back to the earth to get the bride for the wedding. Just like I Thessalonians 4 says, the dead in Christ and they which are alive and remain are caught up to meet the Lord in the air. They don't do that until Jesus comes back. And that resurrection there is 'the first resurrection.' The first resurrection isn't mentioned in Revelation until chapter 20 at bit AFTER this verse you quote.

So this first with a more historic, straightforward reading of scripture, and that first resurrection part contradicts pretrib.

In verse 5.... people don't have to be in heaven to praise God. Yours is not a valid point. Also, there are dead in heaven in the vision. The saints under the altar for example.

I believe you made that point. I don't know that weddings were always held at the groom's house. They could have had rented spaces, gone to the house of an uncle with a large house, etc. The parable doesn't say. And it doesn't say that's the point of the parable. A lot of these parables tell us the point of the parable-- e.g. at such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh... not make the flood represent whatever you want it to.

The JWs take the wise and faithful servant (the faithful and discreet slave in their terminology) out to be the Watchtower organization. Just plugging an idea into an analogy in scripture isn't going to prove your viewpoint to someone who does not share your presuppositions.

Pretribbers think Jesus does a U-turn. Revelation does actually show the New Jerusalem in heaven AFTER the thousand years. Maybe that's when or after the elements melt with fervent heat. Versions of dispensationalism have the great conflagration after the thousand year reign. John is told to come see the bride. The New Jerusalem is adorned like a bride adorned for her husband. The apostles names are on the foundation. That's the part in scripture about the bride being in heaven after the resurrection. The first resurrection is in Revelation 20, not in Revelation 3 or 4 or 14.

Regarding U-turns, the two men in Acts 1 say that the Lord will return the way He ascended. He did not ascend part-way, come back for seven years, then go up again, in the passage.

In Revelation 14, there is a blessing pronounced on those who _die_ in the Lord. Then a grain harvest, by an angel with a sickle. With a grape harvest where there is a lot of blood mentioned. So why wouldn't the grain harvest involve death if the grape harvest does? Look at the passage. It doesn't present resurrection.

Also, answer my question about why the Parousia in II Thessalonians 1 would be a different event from verse 8. Walk me through and show me where the topic changes. Justify that in your interpretation system?

My big question is, if these are your reasons, why are you pre-trib? Is it something that you hold in your heart as more important than scripture? If this is all you have to argue, and you don't have anything really solid to offer to support pre-trib, why not deal with the contradictions to it that I have raised? The II Thessalonians 1 and 2 issues, and the first resurrection in Revelation 20, for example.

Do you have some clear scripture that teaches a pretrib rapture to justify reading it into allegorical passages the way that you do?
I think you are doing just fine in nit picking, punctuation rabbit trails, and generalizing my words and thoughts, pretending like you can not grasp simple concepts, instead of engaging in debate.
You are doing just fine.

Truly, if you can not get over your fake addressing of multiple fake defects in me, then go troll someone else.

I don't play your games.
You can not answer, so you get into your defect of your challenger games.

SMH.

I feel your frustration.

Answer the issue I put to you. Why would the parousia, the coming, in II Thessaonians 2:1 passage... the same passage... clearly the same topic he's discussing in the later verses if you read the flow of argument.... why would that parousia be different from the one in verse 8?

1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

See the topic here clearly laid out. Verse 8 is still in this section... concerning that coming... the coming in which we are gathered to Him.

Do you disagree that this is the rapture.....

At that coming in verse 8, the wicked one is destroyed. Revelation sets that in chapter 19, the chapter of the wedding supper of the Lamb anouncment... then boom, the second coming passage (as we both interpret it to be).... the beast and false prophet thrown into the lack of fire in this passage, going on into chapter 20, it explains about the FIRST resurrection.

And FIRST resurrection means there is no mass resurrection of the dead in Christ seven years before at the parousia, because the parousia is happening right there in Revelation 20. That IS a contradiction to your pre-trib view. The Lord returning with His saints/holy ones is not, because we go up to meet Him in the air when He comes. Pretrib just has Christ start to come back and return for 7 years.... where is the Bible to back that up. Where's it at? That doesn't deserve to be the 'default' view if there is no Bible to back it up.

So are you playing the role of a sneaky dealer at a poker table who has a card up his sleeve. I don't 'see that' about the wife being in heaven. That's not there. There is the anouncement that now it's time for the wedding... and He comes down. I Thessalonians shows that the saints meet the Lord in the air. I know a lot of pretribbers say there will be a seven year wedding feast in heaven, but here the feast is announced right before the second coming passage.

Pretribbers can have all kinds of stuff--- Jewish traditions that they might actually read about from other pretribbers, if there is every any historical source for it... making stuff up like pretending the passage says the wedding happens 'in heaven.' The issue is... where does the scripture back it up? And what about the contradictions with scripture.

e.g.
1. II Thessalonians 1 putting Jesus coming to execute wrath on them that believe not at the same time He comes back giving the church rest.
2. II Thessalonians 1 showing us the 'gathering' is at the parousia, and the destruction of the wicked one is at the parousia, in the very same passage.
3. The 'first resurrection' is write there in the Second Coming passage in Revelation 19-20 not seven years before.
4. Lots of verses pretribbers like to use about the coming of Jesus being set _after_ the tribulation in Matthew 24.

And on top of that, there is no scripture that actually lays out a pretrib rapture. It's tenuous arguments about not being appointed unto wrath, allegories about Jewish wedding feasts and other eisegesis.

Do you really believe you made any kind of point at all? What are you accusing me of 'omitting'. I didn't quote the entire Bible, and I didn't quote that verse that time. But there isn't anything in the passage that contradicts what I am saying. Up until the flood, people married and gave in marriage. Up until the coming of the Son of man, people marry and give in marriage. BEFORE the flood and BEFORE the coming of the Son of man. That's fine. Whose eschatology does that contradict?

The contradiction is with the passage setting the coming of the Son of man after the tribulation, and pre-tribbers trying to read their two parousia theory in without any evidence, and just assuming different verses refer to different time periods off of their end times chart, when there isn't any evidence for two time periods in the passage.

Then why bring it up? How many raptures do you believe in?

Then prove it. Where have you shown any evidence at all for it in all of our conversation? Show evidence and explain it. Don't just quote a verse that doesn't offer any proof of pretrib and assume we read in the same ideas you do... without even explaining your reasoning.

If that is wrong, show me where the Bible teaches two parousia events. If it does, you should have some actual scripture to back it up. Like, show me where the sequence is laid out. Show me where the rapture shows up in Revelation. Show me in Thessalonians. Show me that it is separate from the second coming.

Why does Paul treat the coming of Jesus at the 'gathering' as the same event as the coming where the man of sin is destroyed in II Thessalonians 2. Why don't you (or can't you?) even try to deal with that issue in one of your posts?

Rev 19
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
(SAINTS IN HEAVEN DURING THE TRIB)

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Huh?...ALL his servants, both small and great? In heaven ?

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
( the pretrib raptured church in heaven..check)
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
( bride is now called the wife in heaven)
Authenticated by mat 25...10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut"

Even you admitted the bride went to the grooms house.
Authenticated also here;
Mat 26
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Jesus also said " In my father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you. That where I am you may be also

Now remember the postrib invented uturn?
Ahem...they never see heaven, supposedly.
Remember, they redo mat 25 to infer the bride does the uturn , not the groom, back to her house (earth). (Inverted for doctrine sake)

Once you see the 3 comings.(2 of them only to the clouds)
..and what rev 14 actually says.
...and that the rapture is the gathering of the bride.
...and the PURPOSE of the gt.
...and the 144,000 firstfruits are who the bible says.
...and romans vivid depiction of the covenant Jews, ASIDE FROM the church, GRAFTED BACK IN.

Once you see that....you will be glad...and run from postrib rapture misalignment.
Postrib rapture doctrine has NOTHING of what I just posted.

Hello...no way to fix it.

I am referencing tons of scripture, in that post

Presedente childishly asks me to prove my point with scripture.

  • If Revelation 20:5 calls the resurrection after Christ’s return the “first resurrection,” how can an earlier resurrection at a pre‑tribulation rapture be called “first”?
  • How is the pretrib rapture resurrection not in conflict with Revelation 20’s stated timing?
  • Why wouldn't Revelation 19 (the beast being cast into the lake of fire) and 2 Thessalonians 2:8 (the Lord destroying the lawless one at His coming) be describing the same event?
  • Why would the coming (parousia) of the Lord in II Thessalonians 2:1 be different from the coming (parousia) of the Lord in verse 8? What is it about the context (quote from the passage please) that justifies taking these as references to two events?
  • Why would the coming of the Son of man in Matthew 24:29-31 which happens after the tribulation... be a different 'coming of the Son of man' from that referenced in 37, 29, and 44? What in the passage justifies this shift. Please quote scripture to back it up.

If you do not have an answer a simple, "I do not know how to reconcile this with my pretribulational views." should suffice.

2 Thessalonians 2

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

I already addressed Rev 20.
The FIRST RESURRECTION IS NOT right before the mil.
Rev 20, if you place a resurrection RIGHT BEFORE the mill,...hello....IT IS AFTER THE COMING ON WHITE HORSES.
Really???
You really do not see that impossibility?
So your placement has no resurrection at Jesus coming on a white horse, but a misplaced resurrection after the battle of Armageddo?
I have noted several times your doctrines omissions.
Your placement Of a resurrection right before the millennium, that is supposed to be a first resurrection at that time, is not at that time at all.
The first resurrection is multipart.
Jesus, the first resurrection, is the first fruits of the first resurrection.
Now I have already addressed this several times.
any time the Bible places "first fruits" anywhere, it is concerning harvest.
Jesus being the first fruits, and the first part of the first resurrection.
The church "dead in Christ" being the MAIN HARVEST.
So, revelation 20 is referring back to the rapture. The pretribulation rapture, where the dead in Christ are raised

Every point you are trying to make is to hopelessly defend "one coming".

Rev 14:14 So vivid and clear. (coming sitting on a cloud holding a sickle)

Mat 24 so vivid and clear. ( coming after the trib, WITH THE CHURCH, in glory, in vengeance, as a warrior and destroyer)

Mat 24 so vivid and clear. (coming BEFORE THE FLOOD, In a PRETRIB SETTING , )
1 thes 4, so vivid and clear.( coming as a groom PRETRIB to fetch his bride)
Mat 25 so vivid and clear, (coming pretrib to fetch his bride.)

If you omit all that, ( which is just a small portion pointing to multiple comings which i can not give you the entire picture, due to you changing the subject, or just casting it all down), then you will never understand romans 9-11 the regathering of the Jews.
( that item causes so much damage, in that now you must change and refrme tge 144,000 and the main JEWISH HARVEST, of rev 14:14.

I have no idea why I am telling you all that.
You will just divert into some defect you invent in my post, and your dishonest go to of ;
" you don't make sense,"
"you have not provided scripture,"
" you have not proved anything"

One time in your life, address your challenger honestly.

Show me how the 3 comings of the bible are incorrect.
Not the "postrib workbook talking point" of; " if he comes after the trib, he can not come before it".
" if the school bus comes after school, it can not come before it".

I already addressed Rev 20.

The FIRST RESURRECTION IS NOT right before the mil.

Rev 20, if you place a resurrection RIGHT BEFORE the mill,...hello....IT IS AFTER THE COMING ON WHITE HORSES.

Really???

If events that happen simultaneously are written at exactly the same space on the page in scripture, then one set of letters would be written on top of another (like printing twice on the same side of a paper) and we wouldn't be able to read the text.
You really do not see that impossibility?

That was your idea not mine. We have other scripture. Paul sets the rapture at the coming of Christ. He also sets the destruction of the lawless one at the Lord's coming. (Notice this is several verses away to a reference to the coming of the Lord and our gathering unto him, in which 'our' refers to Paul and 'church' people). But in Revelation, when it gives detail, it has to mention one thing then another. We read about the Rider on the white horse, the beast being thrown into the lake of fire, the resurrection of the dead... and then the milennium.

Also, an anouncement of the wedding supper of the Lamb is right before this. The bride is made ready... then we see the scene of Christ on the white horse, the destruction of the beast, and the first resurrection. We know that the dead in Christ and the church are 'raptured' at His coming from I Thessalonians 4, which helps us understand more what is going on in this scene.

Since all this works without having to create an addition rapture event... why invent one. What is the justification for that?

So your placement has no resurrection at Jesus coming on a white horse, but a misplaced resurrection after the battle of Armageddo?

Again, this is your assumption. We know from scripture that the saints meet the Lord in the air as He descends. The dead in Christ and we which are alive and remain are caught up to meet the Lord in the air. The Lord returns with His saints.

When you interpreted Revelation 19 and put in your comments, there was nothing in your text that demanded or required your scenario to be the case. I have heard pretribbers do this with II Thessalonians 2, ignoring the contradictions, but explaining how they think it fits in with their pretrib theory. But what they aren't doing is giving justificaiton for the actual theory they are trying to wrap these passages around.

Where does the idea come from... in the first place... that Jesus comes back twice, that there is a previous rapture event, that the 'coming', the parousia, of II Thessalonians 1 is a separate event from that of verse 8?

I have noted several times your doctrines omissions.

I may not quote whatever verse is popping in your head at the time because I am posting not you. You complain about 'omissions' but then you haven't clearly explained why whatever verse you think was omitted from a discussion supports pretrib in some clear way. I'm supposed to read your mind and agree with whatever interpretation you hold to.

Your placement Of a resurrection right before the millennium, that is supposed to be a first resurrection at that time, is not at that time at all.

According to the book of Revelation it is the revelation of Jesus Christ, so if you have a problem with what the passage says, take it up with Him. I did not write it.
The first resurrection is multipart.

Jesus, the first resurrection, is the first fruits of the first resurrection.

Jesus is the first fruits of the resurrection. Christ the first fruits, and afterward they that are His at His coming, Paul wrote in I Corinthians 15. He doesn't say afterward they that are His seven years before His coming, or that Christ comes back twice.

It must be rather uncomfortable for you, though, to have an interpretation system like yours, and not have any actual scripture that teaches that the rapture happens pretrib, then read and see a separate second coming (since you read the idea that it is separate into the passage based on your theory) and then BOOM, a reference to the FIRST resurrection after the second coming. Uh-0h, how do we handle it.... let's make the coming of the Lord multi-part.

If I were going to believe something like that, I'd go with partial preterism. It's more reasonable, and handles some issues.

This is such a strained interpretation. If you are going to hold to such a tenuous view... do you have some sort of evidence from somewhere for a separate parousia and resurrection event elsewhere in scripture? You have demonstrated that you are very capable of assuming pretrib is true, then trying to read it into passages like Revelation 19 and Matthew 24. You take allegorical type passages and try to make an image in a vision or a feature of a parable fit with some concept from the pre-trib rapture. But where do you find a passage that actually lays out or teaches pretrib to justify interpreting parables and visions through this framework?

That's one reason I'm not pretrib. It's circular. One assumes pretrib, and therefore this passage must be interpreted in a pretrib way, but then I use the passage to argue for pretrib. It feels like circular reasoning. And I don't see any good onramp (scripture that teaches it or something) as an onramp to the circular highway of pretrib reasoning.

Then there is the implied idea that God is angry at the tribulational saints, that because they suffer, God's wrath must be upon them. But the Bible presents them heroically, loving not their lives even unto death, robes washed in the blood of the Lamb, overcoming the Devil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of His testimony.

I know a lot of pretribbers can have a lot of emotion (and time) invested in pretrib. And they have elaborate systems of how this passage and that passage fits into pretrib, and letting go of it requires letting go of an intepretation system. But I don't see where any scripture justifies pretrib, and it contradicts passages like the ones I mentioned.

There is a set of questions I have challenged you with multiple times. I will reiterate one, and I'll take your not answering... again... as implicit evidence that you just do not have an answer.

What justification is there from II Thessalonians 2 to take the reference to the parousia (coming) of Christ in verse 1-- which also references the rapture, to be a separate event from the parousia in verse 8, the destruction of the lawless one (which we agree occurs at the second coming)?

When it refers to THAT COMING, It does not make the OTHER COMINGS of Rev 14:14, and and mat 24's "coming before the flood" disappear.

I posted my last question before I saw this one. You are trying to address some aspect of my challenge question a little here. But you don't really address the question of what it is in II Thessalonians 2 that justifies redefining the 'parousia' or 'coming' at which the gathering (rapture) occurs to be a separate event. The lawless one is destroyed at the Lord's coming. How was there way an original reader of this epistle who hadn't encountered pretrib is going to read this passage as consistent with pretrib?

You aren't even addressing the question. So if Paul sets the gathering of the church to the Lord (i.e. the rapture) and your response is to point to Revelation 14:14 and Matthew 24, are you saying that Paul is wrong in II Thessalonians 2? Is that what you are implying? That Paul puts the rapture at the second coming, but that doesn't do away with these other passages.

And repeatedly, as I have pointed out, I don't see how you get a separate rapture from Matthew 24. Matthew 24 does not say that Jesus will come 'before the flood.' It says that as it was.... so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. In this case, the flood, people were marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah went into the ark, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. As I pointed out, II Thessalonians 1 teaches that when the Lord comes to be glorified in the saints, He will execute wrath on them that know not God, who do not believe the Gospel. Whatever tribulation comes before it (which Christ gives the CHURCH rest from at His revelation from heaven according to the passage), the Lord's coming is accompanied by vengeance on unbelievers.

Like I pointed out, Revelation 14 blesses those who die in the LORD before talking about a grain and a grape harvest, and the grape harvest depicts blood up to the horses bridles. I think you are assuming the grain harvest here is about resurrection, when it's sandwiched in by references of physical death.

To me, this feels like a very weak argument-- to argue theology based on reading symbolic interpretations into apocalyptic passages and parables. It's in a similar category in my mind with the JWs arguing that the Watchtower organization is the 'faithful and discreet slave' (wise and faithful servant) in the parable or Augustine making the innkeeper in the parable of the good samaritan out to be St. Paul. You can try to 'prove' anything with allegory.

I prefer to look at literal, straightforward texts and interpret allegory as consistent with these passages. They are describing the same things in a more literal way, so they should line up with how we read allegory. I do not see pre-trib as consistent with Paul's didactic teachings on the coming of the Lord in II Thessalonians 1 and 2.

Matthew 24 does not say that Jesus will come 'before the flood.' Don't cast pearls at swines, don't waste your time with that guy.

You will just divert into some defect you invent in my post, and your dishonest go to of ;
" you don't make sense,"
"you have not provided scripture,"
" you have not proved anything"

One time in your life, address your challenger honestly.

Show me how the 3 comings of the bible are incorrect.
Not the "postrib workbook talking point" of; " if he comes after the trib, he can not come before it".
" if the school bus comes after school, it can not come before it".

Every point you are trying to make is to hopelessly defend "one coming".
The coming of Christ is the blessed hope, not 'hopless'
When there are multiple verses that refer to the coming of the Lord in the singular, the 'default' understanding should be that we are waiting for one coming unless there is scripture to indicate otherwise. If you have any scripture to that effect, please do so.

By scriptural evidence, I don't mean the way you have treated scripture below. You assume pretrib, then try to argue how it fits into passages, or insist that some word in a passage refers to pretrib.

Rev 14:14 So vivid and clear. (coming sitting on a cloud holding a sickle)
After a decree that those who die in the Lord are blessed. The harvester is an angel. There is a harvest of grain. There is a harvest of grapes. After the harvest of grapes blood flows. But you insist that the harvest of grain (I assume you mean this) must refer to some kind of rapture? but not the pretrib rapture? and that is supposed to be evidence for a pretrib rapture?

You never explained how a passage which you do NOT believe refers to the pretrib rapture is supposed to be evidence for a pretrib rapture, even though I asked you to do so.

Mat 24 so vivid and clear. ( coming after the trib, WITH THE CHURCH, in glory, in vengeance, as a warrior and destroyer)

I am not familiar with anything in this passage talking about the coming of the Son of man...which the passage clearly sets AFTER the tribulation... 'with the church.' But taking other scripture, we see that the elect are gathered at this time. We can see in I Thessalonians 4 that the church meets the Lord in the air, and in other passages, we see the Lord is coming with His saints.

I think we both agree that the way Jesus is able to come back with His saints is because the saints are raptured and meet the Lord in the air. You just believe the Lord goes back to heaven with the church and you add a second Parousia event without offering any scripture that backs it up. You offer scripture, but just read pre-trib into it, not offering scripture that actually supports pretrib.

Mat 24 so vivid and clear. (coming BEFORE THE FLOOD, In a PRETRIB SETTING , )

No, the setting of the coming of the Son of man is clearly 'immediately after the tribulation of those days'-- not pretrib. You have to contradict the passage to make your argument. You haven't shown where the time period shifts back in time.

Can you show me some scripture that teaches "Whenever the flood is mentioned, the topic and time frame totally switches from whatever is being talked about to a pretrib rapture event." Something along those lines would be required to make your assumptions remotely reasonable. Why would a reference to the flood have anything to do with pretrib? Did Noah teach about a pretrib scenario? Did anyone in the Bible? No. This was all written way before 1827.

1 thes 4, so vivid and clear.( coming as a groom PRETRIB to fetch his bride)

Don't add to scripture. Paul sets this at the Parousia. Paul also sets the destruction of the lawless on at the Parousia.

Mat 25 so vivid and clear, (coming pretrib to fetch his bride.)

No reference to pretrib. All this is set AFTER the tribulation according to the previous chapter. You can try to line up symbolic aspects to align with pretrib, but still the plainly stated words of Christ say it is after the tribulation of those days.

Again, show me something from Matthew 24 that justifies shifting the time period back in time seven years.

If you omit all that, ( which is just a small portion pointing to multiple comings which i can not give you the entire picture, due to you changing the subject, or just casting it all down), then you will never understand romans 9-11 the regathering of the Jews.

How does pretrib handle this any better than other eschatological viewpoints? Even amil and postmil have had commentators that acknowledge the end-time conversion of the Jews. But in Revelation, people form every tribe tongue and nation come out of the great tribulation, so it is not like there is seven years of exclusively Jewish believers. Maybe Gentiles stop converting because the fullness of the Gentiles come in, and only Jewish converts are left. But adding a pretrib rapture into the mix doesn't make that fit any better than a straightforward interpretation of the text. Why do you think pretrib fits better?

I have no idea why I am telling you all that.

You will just divert into some defect you invent in my post, and your dishonest go to of ;

" you don't make sense,"

"you have not provided scripture,"

Why don't you take it to heart. Look, I've been very specific about this. What is it about a reference to the flood do you think makes a verse about 'pretrib'. It isn't reasonable to think that a reference to the flood is proof of a pretrib rapture. But you act like it is. I ask you to explain it. Quoting verses that do not support a pretrib rapture, that fit very well with more straightfoward interpretations, isn't presenting evidence. You should at least explain why you think a passage is evidence.

The same thing with Revelation 19. Quoting passages and putting commentary on what you think it means based on pretrib assumptions is not presenting evidence for pretrib.

And again, as I recall, you don't think Revelation 14 even refers to the pretrib rapture, but you think quoting it is evidence for pretrib. How and why? And I don't agree with your assumption that this harvest MUST be a rapture when it comes right after a blessing on those who die of the Lord, and the grape harvest right after it has to do with blood being shed.

What I've asked you for is evidence in a shift of timeframe or topic in Matthew 24 to justify your interpretation of the passage.... not your interpretation of the passage which defies the plain words of Christ... without any justification to back it up.

I asked for scripture that teaches a pretrib scenario, not how you can reinterpret passages if you already hold to pretrib.

And there are plenty of cases of you just quoting scripture that people with other interpretation systems have interpretations of and acting like that proves something. That's not very persuasive.

I'm not insulting you. I'm not taunting and gloating here as you have. I'm talking about the arguments made in the thread. Try not to be thin skinned (while taunting others.) That's the extent of my personal comments here toward you in this post. Please address the specific points.

One time in your life, address your challenger honestly.

You are impugning my character. My posts and points on the topic are straightforward. Can you address the actual Biblical and doctrinal issues without the character attacks.

Show me how the 3 comings of the bible are incorrect.

Show me the the idea that Toby McGuire's Spiderman is the real Spiderman is Biblically incorrect. You can't do it, can you? Because the Bible doesn't teach that Toby McGuire's Spiderman is or is not the real Spiderman.

The burden of proof is on you to prove three comings.

Again, I will ask this. Paul refers to the parousia, the coming of the Lord in the singular twice in II Thessalonians 2 verses 1 and 8. The first reference speaks of the coming of our Lord and our gathering to Him. The second reference speaks of the lawless one being destroyed at the brightness of His coming. My argument is that it is obvious that if there is no evidence to the contrary, the coming of the Lord here in the same passage is one event. The burden of proof is on you to show that it is two events. Show me where in the passage you get justification for the idea of two parousies. Can you show elsewhere in scripture? Is it reasonable to think that anyone reading the epistle in Greek in the first century would think there were two comings of the Lord being referenced? If not, why hold to a pretrib view of this passage?

What, a hundred times so you can sidestep it?

Note your last sentance:
"Is it reasonable to think that anyone reading the epistle in Greek in the first century would think there were two comings of the Lord being referenced?"

You are litigating away , in your mind, the 3 comings.
Ahem, that I have shown you already.

Just skip it, pretend you are right.
You have actually proven the bible is wrong.
You have proven it!!....( in your mind)
All your colleagues have given you several high fives (SMH) In approval of your beliefs. ( "proof").

I actually agree that many things in the bible make no human sense.
But so many, such as yourself, get it all "figured out".

@Psalm1

If events that happen simultaneously are written at exactly the same space on the page in scripture, then one set of letters would be written on top of another (like printing twice on the same side of a paper) and we wouldn't be able to read the text.

I may not quote whatever verse is popping in your head at the time because I am posting not you. You complain about 'omissions' but then you haven't clearly explained why whatever verse you think was omitted from a discussion supports pretrib in some clear way. I'm supposed to read your mind and agree with whatever interpretation you hold to.

According to the book of Revelation it is the revelation of Jesus Christ, so if you have a problem with what the passage says, take it up with Him. I did not write it.

My QUOTE
"any time the Bible places "first fruits" anywhere, it is concerning harvest"
( a fact that actually messes your deal up)

Your diversion reply:
"This is such a strained interpretation. If you are going to hold to such a tenuous view... do you have some sort of evidence from somewhere for a separate parousia..."

Total sideshow and dance.
Out and out lying about me.
I post what is there.
You can not handle it, so you spin off into your put down act.
disingenuous nonsense.
Entertainment.

"Where does the idea come from... in the first place... that Jesus comes back twice, that there is a previous rapture event, that the 'coming', the parousia, of II Thessalonians 1 is a separate event from that of verse 8?"

Your answer is simple, pretend Rev 14:14, 1 Thessalonians 4, and Rev 19 coming on white horses are all the exact same event.!
No problem!
Make sure you omit the pretrib rapture verses.
(We can't have scripture mess up our deal we got from ancient dead church fathers..)

Don't cast pearls at swines, don't waste your time with that guy.
Post for me a postrib rapture verse.
I will wait.

You do what the enemy does, call the body of Christ swines.

Why does your camp align with evil?

You guys always sink to the bottom.

Don't add to scripture. Paul sets this at the Parousia. Paul also sets the destruction of the lawless on at the Parousia.

You are impugning my character. My posts and points on the topic are straightforward. Can you address the actual Biblical and doctrinal issues without the character attacks.

QUOTE,
"Again, show me something from Matthew 24 that justifies shifting the time period back in time seven years."

You mean the part where you claim Jesus is confused?
Mat 24
36;But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37;But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41;Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42;Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

You mean the "before the flood coming", that can not be a "after the flood coming", that you claim can not be?
That coming?

The one you insist Jesus got wrong?
The one before the flood where your doctrine claims is a wicked person gathering?( one wicked taken, one righteous left). ( half the world is righteous, born again?)
The one where Jesus said " before the flood I am coming, watch and be ready"?
That coming?

Post for me a "zeroth resurrection" verse. It's been more than a month, you still can't produce any. No pre-trib resurrection, no pre-trib rapture.

Lol
None of you ever meet my challenge
I get it.
You admit to having none..
You must be embarrassed.
I know I would be if I also based my beliefs on no verses.
Just stick close to the enemy and call Jesus' body "swines."
Oh wait you already do that.
Carry on.

The nerve of Jesus placing the rapture before the trib

Luke 17
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

just infuriating for some here.
Outlandish of Him.

Huh????
Jesus coming in a setting of normal life, commerce, and planning for the future?????

No Jesus.
Please Jesus we need to be tied to a tree, whipped, and suffer.

Why Jesus?
Why ruin our trib party?????
