Heeey y'all! :)

I would really appreciate your prayers.

Basically, i'm proud. I think I'm better than other people around me, and quite often feel self-righteous.
I try not to show it in what I do or how I live. I want to serve the way Jesus served me, served us.
It's mostly in my mind. Proud, idolatrous thoughts creep into my heart and I feel like such a wretch.
I am confident that the Lord will help me, but it would be nice to know someone else is praying! :)

Well to be honest I think everyone is guilty of the sin of pride in one way or another ... ALL have sinned and fall short of God's glory and anyone who says they are without sin do not have the truth in them. Our flesh is at constant war with our spirit. I think all sin stems from the first sin introduced by Satan ... Pride. If you think about it you will see that this is true. Pride puffs us up and separates us both from God and our fellow man. God can only extend grace to the humble and indeed only those who humble themselves are able to accept the grace of God. Pride puts emity between God and man and between us all. ... so Lord pour contempt on all our pride, so that Your grace may abound in our hearts. Amen.
What overcomes pride? Ans. The Love of Christ. We are overcomers when He is at the helm.
 
Amen! May God move in the heart of us all, Saved by grace through faith.....Thank you Jesus!

I will be praying for you guys Sazzy and Jamie. I say whenever you may face such thoughts, rebuke them in Jesus' name. We have been given the power to have what we say (Mark 11:23) coz we are children of the most high God! Claim humility over your own lives and ask the Holy Spirit to have His way in you and to make you Christ's pure bride. God bless you

May Jesus bless you. This reminds me of what Jesus said about the pride of life, lust of flesh, lust of the eyes. WOW. WOW This is the enmity!!! WOW!!!
 
I just find it humorous that you said "...Jesus served me, served us". lol like, that is you thinking of yourself and being prideful again or something lol.

No ... you are never alone ... He said He would never leave us nor forsake us. ^_^ Thank you for your prayers ... Christianity is a body ministry after all. :cool:
Upon reflection I am reminded of the parable that Jesus spoke of in Luke 18:9-14. [Jesus]spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Now from my studies I have found that when people stood in the Synagogue to pray they would say thier prayers aloud ... perhaps quietly ... but aloud. Even Jesus taught us how to pray this way ...He said "when you pray SAY". The spoken word is powerful .... and has the power to bind and to loosen. So imagine if you will how this tax collector felt when this self righteous Pharisee put him down this way before God. Did he get angry? No ... if anything he was humbled by it and beat his chest and and asked God to have mercy on him ... WOW! Lord give me that kind of humility.
