problem related to praying in tongues

Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Matt 26:36
Then Jesus came with them to a garden called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples: "Sit down here while I go and pray yonder."

Praying like in Pentecostal / Charismatic Churches violates the teaching of Jesus above.
When I walked into a church I was visiting the entire church was praying in tongues. Jesus revealed to me that this was His will for the church. This experience taught me that you have to know God's will. Jesus then led me to join them. Tongues is one of the gifts and the scriptures tell us they won't cease until we are transformed and face to face with Jesus, which is when the gifts will no longer be needed.

Tongue-talkers are operating on a whole other level than rational thinking people. They'll say they operate in the "spirit," but this is just a con game they play with themselves. No amount of reasoning can get through to them.

But this does not even conform to Scripture. And if something does not conform to Scripture it is questionable. If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? (1 Cor 14:23) It says nothing about praying in tongues but it does talk about speaking in tongues.

A foreign language is also lack of feeling and understanding or even lack of conscience concerning empathy, which isn't nesacsrily a bad thing,

I see the language of tongues as something that was sealed in the ark of the covenant 😊.

It's only given when the lord allows it.

Because of the powers it holds, and because of who could miss use those powers. Ie start becoming self rightouse 😊

Totally, God says clearly "I would that you did all speak in tongues"

So folks say "I don't wanna speak in tongues"
God says "I would that ye did"

Something wrong if we don't want something God wants.

When you say the "entire church" I take it that you do not mean the entire church all at one time, that would be to mis-use the gift. let's all learn together how best to use the precious things of God.

If all the church spoke in tongues at one time it would not be so terribly wrong it's just that anyone coming in who is not a believer will think you are mad.

outside of the obvious ATHEIST in this conversation, most of the others, cessationist, also believe in a God who Created people to DOOM them to Hell and they call it God's Glory, people who took a Prayer of Jesus, for His Disciples, who would continue His WORK after His Ascension...turned that into all Believers are predestined, people who think Grace means we have free reign to SIN, people who believe they are JEWS because they Replaced the Blood Heritage Jews.

it's no wonder they don't believe in the Gifts, LOOK, at ALL the FAKE stuff they do believe in...the TRUTH has no place in them!

Everyone was led to pray, not speak, in tongues at the beginning of the service.

Praying in tongues is one of the variations of the gift of tongues.
1Cor. 12:10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

to learn, someone must have their truth be proven false before they can be open to another view. the fact, that one group alone, has all 4 doctrines i listed + 3 others i did not, they are so lost in the deceptions of their own teachings from the pulpit, they don't have time for anything else.

when i grew up southern baptist, it was like clockwork, 1st sunday every month, we learned about Replacement Theology, 2nd sunday predestination, 3rd sunday osas, 4th sunday tulip. month after month. it's a program. those aren't preachers, they're mind programmers!

a 2x4 ain't big enough to make a difference here, we need to be talking aluminum 46" length bat might get us through one doctrine.

patience and gentleness, huh?

That's all stuff

God can break through it all anytime He wants.

What God desires above all things is that brethren should dwell together in peace, in love. That is more precious to God than gifts.

He will just by pass them in those things, wait for them to die.

You have to see that what THEY are is precious in God's sight too. But He can't use them for anything much in the way of soul saving or delivering folks from the evil one.

We don't have to prove anything to men, God can do that. What we need is to be worthy to be used by God.

Augustine, Bishop of Hippo (northern Africa), one of the four great fathers of the Latin Church and considered the greatest of them all said: “We still do what the apostles did when they laid hands on the Samaritans and called down the Holy Spirit on them in the laying-on of hands. It is expected that converts should speak with new tongues”
^
this is a true Gem and Pure Solid Gold Nugget.

a Church Father telling us, some 400 YEARS+ [[AFTER]] all Scripture was WRITTEN, they are STILL "We still do what the apostles did when they laid hands on the Samaritans and called down the Holy Spirit on them in the laying-on of hands" while EXPECTING this, It is expected that converts should speak with new tongues!

i wonder, which Vessel, did the Demons enter into to create a Doctrine to Stop this from Continuing?
this is not about right and wrong more so than legit Doctrine. i use the Bible to show them their theological errors within their own doctrines. but in situations involving cessation and continuation, it's about proof after the Bible, which is why it's important we have examples like ^

ok, to disagree but to attack those or those attacking you doesn't in any way explain the truth that the context of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit has not stopped. Found in 1cor chapters 12 through 14.

Your experience doesn't change the truth that those who use the text of 1cor 13:8-120 as the ceasing of Tongues are not contextual. None of you who hold to that understanding are able to prove those verses mean that, at least not in context with the word of God.
