You are body mind and soul.

Your body, responds to the environment around you, adapting to it and setting itself in the way it feels it should to cope with your surrounding environment.

This causes your body to release compounds into it, effecting emotion, as the bodies recommended coarse of action to respond to the situation.

When a wanted thing does not get done, or an occurrence does not go the intended way, this can cause your body to release compounds which correlate to anger, fear, depression, and the like, these compounds react in the same way mind altering compounds some people ingest react, they change your mental state, however, the specific compounds produced by your body generate feelings of emotions, unlike mind altering chemicals from plants which are not directly related to feeling a one particular normal emotion. However, there is a soul, and many of these compounds do not go into the soul.

The soul, usually reeves messages from the brain, in many cases, it takes them and uses them as if mind and soul were one, but in cases of unwanted anger, fear, or sadness, the soul can actually over ride the body, it cannot immediately remove the chemicals causing the sensation of the emotion, but it can make the conscious decision not to take the sensations into account, resist the body feelings, and decide to act against the suggestions of the body when feeling anger, fear, or sadness in the brain, and thus, feel peace in the soul when stirred in the mind, feelings in the soul are the final decision point before you act on them, so if you learn to, and choose to have peace in the soul when the mind is angry or fearful, you can still act with peace even when your mind is generating the sensations of anger, fear, or sadness.
