You should absolutely not laugh at someone having a panic attack, as it is harmful, judgmental, and goes against all advice for helping someone during such an experience. Laughter can cause embarrassment and invalidate their experience, increasing their anxiety and making the situation worse. Instead, remain calm, provide reassurance, and ask what they need to help them feel safe and supported.
5 things not to say when someone is having a panic attack.
It’s just for attention- Just focus on your breathing
- Breathe into a paper bag
- Don’t use phrases such as “calm down,” “don’t worry,” and “try to relax”
- Don’t minimise the person’s experience.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the MSNBC gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of MAGA, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley of Trump's administration, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my TDS
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
