Well Cuomo is running to try to re-enter politics that was obvious when he ran in the democrat primary, and they rejected him pretty soundly and nominated Mamdani instead. Cuomo then dropped out of the democrat party, an old time esttablisment democrat from an elite democrat family, in order to run again against Mamdani. It is personal with him and ties into his ego and his family legacy. For Sliwa as he even points out in the debate he does not like Cuomo either, he won't drop out just because he personally does not like Cuomo and thinks of him as one of the worst Governors in NY history which is not actually far from the truth. So it is that Mamdani will win with them divided on eachother, but even if we entertain the hypothetical of one dropping out and outright endorsing the other or making some sort of 11th hour alliance, Mamdani still will win, especially after this debate where one or the other had to really lay a finisher move on him, but both failed to do so. Don't get me wrong either Mamdani wasn't so perfect in this debate and they did land some blows, Mamdani did get staggered and stumbled a bit more in this debate, but it wouldn't be enough to move the needle enough when he already has a pretty commanding lead in the polls.

All this said though there's still a technical chance still that Cuomo could win, and an even slimmer chance that Sliwa could win, as unlikely as it could seem it is possible, but not very probable in either case. They have by election day in a little under two weeks to figure somethng out, and political comebacks and underdog upsets have happened before of course. Don't get all your hopes up either though, the writing seems to be very much on the wall now after seeing that debate, considering the current opinion polling, and with the limited time available until the election.

I know Cuomo, his mother's house was a block from where I used to live, and I know Sliwa, I worked with him a number of years ago. I think I have a handle on what is going on.

I don't care, I don't live in NYC anymore and I personally don't think it matters. I think the Lord's judgement will fall hard on NYC before any of this matters.

That said I know that in politics of this magnitude with all the money involved and everything that is at stake there is a lot of games played behind the scenes. I know that Cuomo running is bad for Mamdani and good for Sliwa. The only explanation for this is that the Democratic party is splitting so that centrists and extremists are breaking into factions. Also I believe that it is highly likely that Sliwa has made some kind of back room deal with Cuomo to keep him in the race. The debate is simply performative to make it look like Sliwa is not working with Cuomo.

Well for fun then who do you think will win? It will be topical either way for analyses of the democrat party. Pretty sure Mamdani got this in the bag though. If Cuomo dropped out and full-throatedly supported Sliwa actually Silwa would lose even bigger than Cuomo. Writing seems to be on that wall and all, but technically it is not over til it is over, 2 weeks to decide.

I think it is impossible for a Republican to win a mayoral race in NYC if there are only two candidates. I think the Democrats are going to see their votes split and I think that Sliwa has a chance if there are three candidates. I think we are watching Communists and Capitalists fight it out. This is not my fight, I am not here to defend capitalism or to fight against communism. I am an ambassador of the kingdom of the heavens.

I think we will have a massive event take place at the start of November and then you will have riots in the streets with gunfire nationwide. I would not be surprised if six months from now 90% of Americans are dead and UN peacekeepers patrol American streets. I think we are about to see the fulfillment of Dumitru Duduman's prophecy.

I really wish you were right in regards to the NYC election, and I did like Sliwa a lot in both debate and his approach and he struck me as if given the chance he might become one of the greats. I would agree with your first statement though not say it's impossible, after all Giuliani is the GOAT of NYC Mayors for our lifetime and even Bloomberg though he is a center-leftist ideologically he has always been a true Independent candidate and he's the 2nd best in living memory, so it's not totally unthinkable that either a Republican or Independent could win NYC in the modern era. Though yea I think it is very improbable for this race. I don't think democrats are really divided, but rather the leftwing is divided into three, and I think the far left straight up will succeed in overthrowing and hijacking the democrat party. I guess we'll both find out in two weeks though, and either way praise Jesus.

Seems LV is on your side though on the NYC Mayoral race and thinks Mamdami actually got destroyed in the last debate and Sliwa might underdog it. So it's still interesting to watch, still gonna be a good politics show either way, praise Jesus.

A little post-debate talk by Sliwa who refuses again to drop out. @ZNP though I gotta keep it real that I think Mamdani will win, I do really like Sliwa's performance and energy alot, I could see him being a great mayor if he actually won. If you're right and Sliwa pulls an underdog I will be the happiest guy eating crow that you've ever seen and gladly pay the wager of fun award emojis to you for 10 posts.

I believe he does indeed embody NYC the most of the three for sure, and Cuomo does too, I do see a narrow path to an underdog victory, but it be hard to achieve this late into the game 2 weeks to go. If Cuomo dropped out before this last debate and it was just Sliwa he would have won, but Cuomo is stubborn in his heart, the gamble of the Middle Left in Walking Away to try to regain control of their party is a backfire. Cuomo would have to sacrifice his ego and drop out like tomorrow and endorse Sliwa and Sliwa would have to try to bait Mamdani into a 1v1, preferably a straight up street debate or some similar big move. Metaphorically, you're down and it's the 4th quarter, 2 minutes left, you gotta make a hail mary it seems to me, but it is not impossible yet and the potential is still on the table, but that clock is still ticking and there's no timeouts remaining and all Mamdani has to do now is rush the clock. You just gotta go for it andgo big no matter where the chips fall now for a Sliwa victory.

Though my view of this topic/thread is that it's our democrat focus analyses, so for the purposes of that though it's kinda like a bad trainwreck it is a pretty interesting moment here for the democrats internally and for USA more widely as it will be the election to set the tone for the midterm season, the official games are on. The democrats are in flux too if you view them from a lens besides just a conservative lens. Mamdani lashes out after the debate and tries to claim Cuomo is racist, this is actually not smart for him imo as it seems like he's a sore loser. and slightly unravelling a little bit right when he is so close to victory. On the other hand Cuomo ain't gonna drop out for Sliwa as he scoops up the endorsement and appears side by side with Mayor Eric Adams. This is a very big move by Cuomo, not a hail mary, but a lucky break to turn a 3rd down into a 1st down, he has the better shot now of beating Mamdani if we're objective about it. Adams dropped out officially, but he's also incredibly unpopular too, but there is also a sense that Adams was dealt a bad hand and has been kinda treated unfairly too by the far left whom pushed both him and Cuomo into being Independents by the far left. So while he can't give Cuomo a decisive bump over the threshold of victory, but he can give him a little boost. Cuomo now still basically needs to beg Sliwa to drop out and humble himself somewhat to the populist rightwing, not neccesarily Trump, but the Sliwa type rightwinger, but even then even that is still a gamble just to make the race turn into a dead heat where things can become very interesting.

Well ZNP you're gonna like this one with your longheld fascination with the AI. it was only a matter of time until it happened. AI has now been officially used to influence a US election as Cuomo and the middle leftwing actually will be the first to weaponize the AI to generate an official election attack ad against Mamdani, but also immediately cancels it as the AI portrays Mamdani's leftwing policies and ideology, which Cuomo also partially supports and is responsible for implementing, to a pretty dystopian degree.

News story confirming it came officially from Cuomo and thus is indeed the first AI political ad in major US politics.

Here is the actual AI ad itself certified an paid for by the Cuomo campaign, albeit admittedly cancelled and disowned by them too:

What I don't get is that now that we have two fugitives from the law being housed in her rental properties, why doesn't she come out and use the NY State AG website to proclaim her innocence? This is a bad time for her to go silent. It is an even worse time for NY to have their state AG housing fugitives from the law!
Wow it sounds like she is confessing. She is saying this trial is about a justice system that was being used for revenge against those who were simply doing their job and standing for law and order! She is saying the justice system was used as a vehicle of retribution.

If you watch the video you will see the pronounced chin thrust. That is a behavior that indicates defiance, contempt, arrogance and superiority. Not a good look for someone quoting the Bible and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

She also says that people all over the country have told her to stand strong. What is the alternative? It sounds like she was asking if she should plead guilty and they were telling her not to. That sounds like she is signaling to the prosecutors that she is ready to cut a deal and expose all these ones that are telling her what to do.

https://rumble.com/v70q82k-breaking-letitia-james-speaks-outside-of-her-arraignment.html?e9s=src_v1_cbl,src_v1_ucp_a

She also claims she is going back to NY to "do her job". Not if I was the governor. If I had a DA who was accused of harboring two fugitives from the law, I would ask to see the evidence, and I would not wait for the jury to come back, if I saw the evidence at the very least I would suspend her till after her trial.

I find it quite easy that we blame one or the other but the problem is both sides are right. They don't care about the people who struggle to provide for their family. Democrats don't and Republicans don't either the government system is a rich elites who will do anything to gain more money and power.
Meanwhile we are sitting here arguing with each other over a corrupt government. Believe it or not .

It's an internet illness all over the world where we are told to argue with one another over whichever subject they choose. They change the subject from day to day from one nation to the next and sit back and watch. The peoples seem to be so carried away with it they don't even see themselves doing it anymore.

Well now that the far left is going straight up communist we have an interesting dynamic also. There's something of a communist civil war in tandem with the power clash internally in the leftwing between the old guard middle left and the new young radical far left. In theory here the two are the more old school establishment types are the more traditional communists you could call it, basically blame the billionaire, get corruptly rich themselves, and toe the pink line of socialism Boomers we're familiar with. On the other side you have the far left's younger and much more radical but also the driving young lifeblood of their party the "cultural marxists", these are the patriarchy hating feminist racialist minded types. Interestingly this rift has been triggered by the democrats themselves and a Senate candidate in Maine and his now infamous mark of a beast.

It's heating up as the clock clicks down. Temu Obama Hakeem Jeffries the Speaker of the House endorses Mamdani and Mamdani will appear with Kathy Hochul the governor of NY (and also Cuomo's former running mate.) Sliwa meanwhile is enjoying a little bit of a bump and is going viral after performing strongly in the debates as well as the internet finding out his past and nearly being assassinated by the Gambino crime family. Sadly I just don't think he will have enough time, but for whatever it counts Sliwa is surging up in popularity and people looking into his name now, so while he is still the underdog, he is gaining momentum.
