That's what I meant in the post before the election was called, it seems some of Sliwa's voters did actually secretly vote Cuomo I am guessling. Remember Cuomo was like around 34% in those opinion polls too, so Sliwa's voters blessed him frankly more than he probably deserved. Cuomo is just a petulant son of the Devil and he's having a fit and taking his own shame and rage out on Sliwa, really I mean he got about as good as it gets, he got logically by the numbers many of them to put their egos aside to feed his and they boosted him to the 40% he should thank them and graciously bow out. One notices that even if now just for fun Sliwa were to give all his votes to Cuomo that Cuomo would even still lose by about 1% so his rage and bitter shameful sore loser mentality is his own fault still. Sliwa's voters should not feel bad at all, they ran a good campaign even if they were the underdogs, they showed genuine heart and love. Cuomo's loss is on his own head, it's for his ego because remember he lost once already before and got blown out and now he has had it doubled on his head. Trump and Musk just had to open their mouths; and now people are going to say "oh, the republicans just voted for Cuomo like Trump and Musk told them to". The problem is that it doesn't make any sense. It didn't make sense for Trump and Musk to say it; and it doesn't make sense for the voters to do it. I don't believe it happened even for a second.
Trump should have given more support to Sliwa, he made the bet between the two weevils and I can't neccesarily blame him for that, it is his hometown after all, but he underestimated how toxic Cuomo had become.
New York City is not really a benchmark to measure the pulse of the country.

Well it's obvious isn't it? About half of them voted for Cuomo. Sliwa's average before the election was around 15% and Cuomo's was like 34%. The final vote was Cuomo got 41% and Sliwa got 7% so logically it follows that about half of Sliwa's supporters voted for Cuomo.
The ballpark math works out; but it seems too simple to me. There's nothing Trump or Musk could even offer that would have gotten me to put Cuomo first, let alone get me to do it because they said so. That part doesn't add up at all.
