Proverbs 17 -- Gaslighting

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or group, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgment.[1] It may evoke changes in them such as cognitive dissonance or low self-esteem, rendering the victim additionally dependent on the gaslighter for emotional support and validation. Using denial, misdirection, contradiction, and misinformation, gaslighting involves attempts to destabilize the victim and delegitimize the victim's beliefs.

Instances can range from the denial by an abuser that previous abusive incidents occurred, to belittling the victim's emotions and feelings, to the staging of bizarre events by the abuser with the intention of disorienting the victim. The goal of gaslighting is to gradually undermine the victim's confidence in their own ability to distinguish truth from falsehood, right from wrong, or reality from delusion, thereby rendering the individual or group pathologically dependent on the gaslighter for their thinking and feelings.

Signs and methods[edit]
As described by Patricia Evans, seven "warning signs" of gaslighting are the observed abuser's:[25]

1. Withholding information from the victim;
2. Countering information to fit the abuser's perspective;
3. Discounting information;
4. Using verbal abuse, usually in the form of jokes;
5. Blocking and diverting the victim's attention from outside sources;
6. Trivializing ("minimising") the victim's worth; and,
7. Undermining the victim by gradually weakening them and their thought processes.

1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.

This is the fork in the road, this is your choice in the election. You can have a dry crust of bread with peace and quiet or you can have a house full of feasting with strife. However, they will withhold the information about the strife and make the choice “dry crust of bread or house full of feasting”. When the more prudent and wise point out the risk of strife they will discount that. We had the perfect example in this last election. Salaries will go up, everyone gets free medical care, we’ll get rid of the pandemic and the rich will pay for everything. You were promised a house full of feasting. But when you arrive to celebrate this new regime what do you see? A total lockdown of the city, 25,000 troops stationed in Washington DC, fences and barbed wire.

2 A prudent servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance as one of the family.

Wisdom and prudence will trump your birthright. The US has a birthright, but if you behave disgracefully you can be replaced by those countries who are currently your “servant” because they are prudent and wise.

3 The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart.

How many times have I heard that “the Lord is in control”. Yes, the Lord is in control of the furnace and He is testing your heart. Are you going to behave disgracefully, are you going to allow yourself to be gaslit?

4 A wicked person listens to deceitful lips; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.

I talked to a con man once and this was his strategy. Wicked people listen to deceitful lips. He wanted wicked people as his clients because once they had been conned they wouldn’t sue him. If you reel them in with a temptation to do something wicked, in order to testify against you in court they will have to reveal this.

5 Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.

Again, go back to what gaslighting is. They verbally abuse the victims. You were a victim due to your own stupidity, not due to their corruption and evil intent. Many who were conned during the mortgage meltdown blamed themselves, their own stupidity. That is true, they did make a mistake, but it doesn’t absolve the lawyers and bankers who violated their fiduciary responsibility. Why does Clinton call the Trump supporters “deplorable” why does Biden call them “chumps”. They are mocking them. Clinton said they were “irredeemable”. She is showing contempt for their maker. They gloated over the riot at the capitol because it gave them an excuse to blame these people appealing for justice while at the same time denying them justice. They will not go unpunished.

6 Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

A peace treaty with Israel, a successful economy, a successful trade agreement, better border security. These are the “children” of the last administration. It is their crown. They accused the people who showed pride in Trump of being cultic. Again, it was gaslighting because what were Biden’s children? He put forth the crime bill, worst bill for the inner city ever by a wide margin. He was against integration of the schools. He gave the eulogy at the most prominent KKK member in the US senate. Kamala Harris is the direct descendant of a slave holder.

7 Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool— how much worse lying lips to a ruler!

Gaslighting is the equivalent of lying lips to a ruler. In order to gaslight you have to be in charge. You have to be able to withhold information, counter information, discount information, speak abusively and derisively. Damage their self esteem, mock the victims, trivialize what happened, etc. For example Schwarzneggar likened to the riot at the Capitol to the night of broken glass. The night of broken glass was when the Nazi government falsely accused a “common man” of a crime that they themselves had perpetrated and then used that excuse to go on a rampage against Jewish buisinesses, breaking their storefront windows. In this analogy the leaders of the US government who were “outraged” at what took place would be equivalent to the Nazi’s and there use of this as an excuse to go after all those appealing for justice would be equivalent to the Nazi’s going after the Jews. The night of broken glass was an example of gaslighting. Was Schwarznegger trying to tip us off to this without getting attacked by those in power, or was it a false comparison? Hard to say.

8 A bribe is seen as a charm by the one who gives it; they think success will come at every turn.

The Tech giants provided hundreds of millions of dollars in bribes to swing the election. They were like snake charmers thinking they could create an alternate reality. Gaslighting may be done by those in charge but it is paid for with bribes. However, look at how arrogant they are. They think they can cancel their biggest and best accounts. Without a doubt Trump and the thousands of accounts that have been suspended or permanently removed from Twitter and Facebook were the most active. They involve a hundred million subscribers who actively viewed and retweeted the posts. That is 50% of Twitters users. You have to be very arrogant to think you can kick 50% of your customers out. Look at the big box stores who are kicking Mike Lindell’s pillows out of their stores. These companies are on the brink of collapse with the pandemic and people avoiding malls. They will now, on top of everything else, incur a loss of 50% of their customers. This is just idiotic. AOC calls people to cancel Goya and the next month Goya names her their #1 salesperson.

9 Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.

We have watched this for many years now. The reporting of the “news” is no longer a fair accounting of all the news that’s fit to print. No, now it is all the stories that can “separate close friends”. Stories are pretend with innuendo, and design so that people would believe the worst and assume the worst. For three months we heard that Trump would use the military to prevent Biden from taking office. It was horrific. He incited violence by telling people to peacefully make their voices heard. He was in the oval office plotting insurrection. Now that this has been shown to be completely false do they apologize, do they hold the people who had an agenda to stir up the American people with these stories accountable? Nope.

10 A rebuke impresses a discerning person more than a hundred lashes a fool.

What is happening in this country is a rebuke to the Christians. We allowed this. It didn’t happen overnight. We slept while this crept in.

11 Evildoers foster rebellion against God; the messenger of death will be sent against them.

Make no mistake, what is going on is rebellion against God. It is not about Trump, it is not about Republicans. This is all about people who are pro life, pro Bible, pro God, pro worship, pro Church. The messenger of death was sent to Pharaoh at the Passover.

12 Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool bent on folly.

Listen to the Left after their “election victory”. Openly proclaiming the need for black lists, to make sure no one who supported the other candidate ever works again, doxing people, calling for reeducation camps, censorship and book burning.

13 Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good.

I think the whole country realizes this second impeachment is just despicable and in their heart they know that doing this is not the end, it is the beginning. Evil will never leave the house after this.

14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

What do we mean “pay back evil for good”. Biden was confirmed despite lots of evidence and lots of appeals for an audit of the election. All the appeals were ignored and denied. This was like a dam full of offenses, but the people were orderly, respectful and law abiding. But you don’t stop there, you now want to remove Trump from office on January 25th? He left office five days ago? You are accusing him of inciting a riot on January 6th by his speech even though the evidence is overwhelming that the people who breached the capitol arrived before Trump began speaking and that they had planned this for the previous five days. Yet you want to start a quarrel with the impeachment? You are like an idiot dynamiting a dam.

15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent—the Lord detests them both.

We have seen both. The best example is the first impeachment. Why did they impeach Trump? He called the Ukraine about investigating possible corruption by the company that Hunter Biden served on the Board. According to the law the president is obligated to do this since they were the recipients of foreign aid from the US. The trial proved he was innocent. However, at the time of the trial the FBI had a laptop belonging to Hunter that proved he was guilty of corruption. Has the FBI been brought to justice? No.

16 Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom, when they are not able to understand it?

There are five tech giants who have acted like fools. Amazon.com, Apple, Google, Twitter and Facebook. They have money, lots of it, yet they have completely acted like fools and will cause their own demise. Why? This is just what Caleb said, “these giants are our food”. Their foolishness opens the door for competitors like Parler and Rumble to take their place. As they go bankrupt they’ll have to sell off assets at a significant discount, again “our food”.

17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

I have seen Mike Lindell attacked by this cancel culture and people around the country respond, like his brother, born for adversity. As they cut off his ability to sell in stores they have gone to the internet and swamped him with orders. His business will thrive while all those companies that kicked him out will ultimately go bankrupt. Then Mike Lindell will replace “Bed Bath and Beyond” with “My Pillow”. They are his food. That is why.

18 One who has no sense shakes hands in pledge and puts up security for a neighbor.

Get rid of the legal protection of the tech giants from liability. You have no sense allowing Iran, ISIS and pedophiles to post on these platforms and the companies have no liability. They can censor whatever they want and they have no liability.

19 Whoever loves a quarrel loves sin; whoever builds a high gate invites destruction.

It is stunning to me the provocative things that are said to invite a quarrel. Generally an outrageous comment that we might have expected once a year from some radical nut job, now we get them every day from elected officials. They liken 75 million Americans that voted for the Republican presidential candidate to “ISIS”? They call them “domestic terrorists”. This can only mean they love a quarrel. The tech giants have built a high gate trying to destroy any business other than their little club. They are inviting destruction. The entire world sees what they are doing and is trying to get out of their prison.

20 One whose heart is corrupt does not prosper; one whose tongue is perverse falls into trouble.

Twitter has recently been sued for violating laws about child pornography. I read the lawsuit today and it shows a company that is corrupt and perverse.

21 To have a fool for a child brings grief; there is no joy for the parent of a godless fool.

Imagine you were an investor in one of these tech giants, perhaps a fund manager or a pension manager. As you watch their downfall it will bring you grief. There is no joy in watching their self destruction.

22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

This is the point of gaslighting, to crush your spirit, to make you docile and easy to control.

23 The wicked accept bribes in secret to pervert the course of justice.

Facebook paid $400 million in bribes to election officials to pervert the course of justice.

24 A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.

Stay focused on the key issues. The first amendment is a key issue, the constitution is a key issue. Donald Trump is not a key issue, that is a distraction. A shaman with horns in the capitol building is not the key issue, that is a distraction. Why did Pelosi put 25,000 troops in Washington DC and lock down the city? That is a key issue. Mike Lindell, the My Pillow guy was seen with a flyer about insurrection, that is a distraction. Trump is plotting insurrection. Really? He left office two days ago, how long will you allow them to distract you with lies?

25 A foolish son brings grief to his father and bitterness to the mother who bore him.

Everything this chapter talks about is referring to a “foolish son” of the republic. They are bringing grief to the Father’s of this nation. They are bitterness to the American people.

26 If imposing a fine on the innocent is not good, surely to flog honest officials is not right.

We see this as well. Honest officials who stood up for righteousness, and now they want them removed from office, they threaten their families, they “flog them on the Main Stream media”.

27 The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

So these ones who are not restrained, they apparently do not have knowledge. Likening the protestors on January 6 to Nazi’s, likening Republican voters to ISIS. There is no restraint in that speech. They are trying to create an alternate reality, but this will now collapse. They are in power, they control the legislative and executive branches of government. They will own everything that they do and those who chose a house full of feasting with strife, they will regret what they have chosen.

28 Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.

Be careful what you post online. Be prudent, be wise, but don’t be a coward. Don’t be disgraceful. Don’t be spineless.
