I am not aware of all current events in the news, since I have been homeless, but I belong to the Orthodox Church and during the liturgy the Church prays for civil authorities. The Orthodox Church includes several churches including Greek, Russian, and other Slavic churches. The liturgy is similar in Orthodox churches, but music styles can differ. The Russian tradition has some of the most beautiful music in the Orthodox Church.
I'm not writing as an expert in Church history, but I am over age 60, and am aware of how the Orthodox Church has faced many challenges in Russia and other Slavic countries in past decades. The Church has been vital and sacred in the history and national identity of the Russian people. I'm not aware of all the issues, but I believe that a nation has the right to honor the Church of origin in their country according to their history and traditions. This could include only allowing other established churches by invitation. If other churches are not in communion with the historical church of a nation, I believe that if a church is not welcomed, then, in the spirit of the Gospel, a church of foreign origin should voluntarily leave until welcomed again.
I believe the leader of Russia also belongs to the Orthodox Church. I would like to apologise for any offenses due to my independent opinions, which I was not authorized to express publicly, for which I have been disciplined and warned by Church authority, and have repented of my reckless and dangerous independent behavior. I was warned to stay out of church politics by a high ranking priest who served the Bishop years ago, and my behavior was disruptive and lacked humility, for which I am sorry.
Here in North America, the church I belong to, while we use hymns from the Russian and Greek traditions, as well as other traditions, is referred to as the Orthodox Church in America.
While I may not agree with all civil authorities or their actions where I live, we are called as Christians to obey civil authorities, unless they violate Christian values. Even Jesus said that those who handed him over to civil authorities who found no fault in him, had the greater sin.
I have not cleared this with church authority, but felt an apology was urgent, since I have been reckless with my opinions and speculations, even though I have a valid gift of prophetic word. I am learning to humbly let God speak through my life without my interference.
