Correct, I don't think many people understand this.

Her Majesty the Queen is known to be a true believer, her longevity and good health is testament to Gods promise to keep people in health if they honour him. In recent years Her Majesty has been more vocal in her faith and she uses her Christmas message to spread the Gospel.
 
What I'm really saying is that if she were a true born again believer in Jesus Christ, she would stick up for the Bible and for Christian values and say, "To hell with government and public opinion!" When will people in power stand up for Christian values?! I'm so sick of all this gay marriage stuff -- it's not even a legitimate term -- gays CANNOT be married whatever any person says.

And, yes, I'm an American, so perhaps I don't really know how the British system works. I just wish the Queen (who is SUPPOSED to be the "defender of the faith") would truly stand up for Christian values. It's just so very, very sad.
 
She might say it behind closed doors, but its political and she has to remain impartial If the Queen spoke out against this, it could incite riots and create such a political fire storm that could result in the abolition of the monarchy.

A minority is a culturally, ethnically, religious orracially distinct group that has a shared sense of collective identity andcommunity that coexists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group withsocially shared rules about who belongs and who does not.

so no the left handed aren't.

But thank you for trivializing the fight for civil rights that so many minorities have to engage in.

The Queen is a figurehead. She has no real power. She vitoes laws but if she refuses to accept one there are procedures whereby the government can bypass her. It's a parliamentary system, not a monarchy or a dictatorship. And the majority has spoken I'm afraid.
 
If you had any sense at all, you would be afraid. The majority has made all sorts of supremely bad decisions throughout history. Count this one among them. The price for this one will eventually be steep though you are too ignorant to know why.

He was basically saying how comparing gay people to left-handed people in terms of discrimination was incorrect because left handed people have faced nowhere near the same amount of discrimination gay people have.

I should know because I've been bullied for being gay, but never for being left-handed.
