1Co 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Mattithyah 5:19, "Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of Yahweh; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of Yahweh."

Mattithyah 5:19, "Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of Yahweh; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of Yahweh."

How do you feel about Paul, Hiz?

Another thread about trying to work yourself into Heaven.

if you are going to survive in the days ahead, you better learn to take everything before God. Why can't you stop worrying about what you DO and SEEK THE LORD for yourself. It is not what you do that makes you righteous, but wha HE DOES IN YOU. gROW UP.

Paul/Shaul and his writings are best left explained by the Scriptures themselves, and I will illustrate why;

2 Kepha 3:15-16, "...Shaul, in accordance with the wisdom given to him, has written to you, As also in all his letters, speaking in them about these things, in which are some things hard to be understood, which those who are unlearned and unstable twist, as they also do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction."

1Co 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Acts 24:14, "But I confess this to you, that after the way which they call heresy--so I worship the Father of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets."

Romans 7:25, "Thanks be to Yahweh, I have deliverance through Yahshua Messiah our King! So then, with this same mind, I myself serve the Law of Yahweh, while in the flesh that is yet subject to the law of sin."

Paul's education...

Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Brother John832, how do you cleanse your own hands? How do you purify your own heart? Tell me. I want to hear this one.

I debated on which scripture to post yesterday and thought I would post Ezekiel because it generally isn't referred to as much as the Psalm but just in case, here is what a man after God's own heart said about cleansing himself...

Psa 119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Psa 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Psa 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psa 119:12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. Psa 119:13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
Psa 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
Psa 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Psa 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Keeping the Commandments.

I have no other point to make than this: Jesus Christ crucified. I don't know anything else and there isn't anything else under the sun worth knowing. \:D/

OK, then, so am I to understand that the only point you know or use out of the entirety of the Bible is ONE VERSE?

1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

That's it? That is all you need or use?

Here is my question...

If Easter and Christmas were pagan holidays, should we worship Christ on those days? (No way was Christ born on the 25th, or died Easter Sunday...QUOTE/T_Lourich

Yes. Who and only Who owns all the days of the year? I know Satan doesn't even own his own existence nor do pagans own their own soul.
Who owns Dec 25 and the day of Easter? Did Jesus hide on those days or on His birthday anytime while He walked the earth in the flesh for 30 some years? No. Then why should a Christian hide from observing and celebrating the memories of anything God has willed for our good?

And by the very fact that you stated, that God owns all including the days and including us, He has the right and the authority to tell us HOW we will worship Him and on which DAYS we will worship Him.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4 prographo - to write before (of time) - of old set forth or designated beforehand (in the scriptures of the OT)

Does it negate the OT scriptures? NOT at all - they are there for us to learn from.

And we SHOULD LEARN from them...

1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

What happened to them when they strayed from God's Feast Days and began to absorb the culture around them?

Eze 20:24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

So Israel went into national slavery. Judah saw this occur and still rebelled. They went into national slavery also.

These were the nations God calls His heritage and what did He do to them when they refused to obey Him?

No where . . . the point is I am not worshipping these things as "gods" and that is the point of the scripture in the OP - And a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other "gods" which you have not known. The Easter bunny is NOT my "god" nor is the Christmas tree - I do not worship them in any manner.

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, giveth God thanks. . . . I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean to him it is unclean. . . .

If you believe it is "unclean" then DON'T celebrate those days but don't judge others who see no wrong in it! :)

Aw, c'mon, how many times do I have to address Rom 14? http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...on-about-christmas-easter-13.html#post1802565

No you are not worshipping them as gods but the point is God says DON'T apply these methods that the pagans used to worship their gods to Him. He says don't worship me in this way. "I will tell you how to worship me and that is how I want you to do it."

Deu 12:29 When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Deu 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

I have a real question about all this to put to everyone?

Yah's Appointed Times (Holy Days) or man's appointed times (holidays, also holy days)?
What do you think the Appointed Times that He says are HIS are for?

I believe the title of that booklet was "Pagan Holidays or God's Holy Days - Which"

Christmas is not worshiping God through pagan means. Again with the thousands of gods and thousands of years, there are going to be countless types of rituals and practices, so its not going to be difficut to dig something up which looks the same.

Why, because you say it is OK?

No I take this verse to not judge those who do celebrate Christmas ..
As for Halloween .. Different matter to me .. But Christmas .. There's a chance for people to hear about God that wouldn't have... I'm all for it...

these lawyers need to make themselves look all righteous and stuff, they need brownie points, instead of thanking god they are not like the tax collector, they pound there chests thanking god they are not like those who celebrate the birth and ressurecion of Christ.

even though Many have come to saving grace on there days and times of year

I celebrate Jesus Christ every single day, don't you? Every day is holy because the Lord is in it. In fact, in Zephaniah 3:17 the Holy Word of Yahweh Most Holy reads:

The LORD your God in your midst is mighty— He will save and He will rejoice over you with joyful delight. He will rest in His love upon you, He will celebrate over you with shouts of joy.

If The Great I AM celebrates over me every single day because He loves me, I want to celebrate Him every single day, too. Hallelujah!! \:D/ Blessed be Your Glorious Name, Jesus!!!

Romans 14

13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 16Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

Why is the Eve of all Hallows any different? Why not just call it a Christian holiday and then you can celebrate it also?

Yes and what ever you do, don't try to obey God, it makes Him angry?

Rom. 14 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

[SUP]Jude 9 [/SUP]Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

[SUP]Deut. 34:6 [/SUP]And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.

Your friend in Christ
