I don't like any makeup at all. It all looks fake. I personally don't understand why some (but not all) guys like women who wear makeup and why women think they look better when they wear it. There's a fine line with makeup...and that line is just barely above 'none at all'.

In my opinion, most all women who wear makeup are just a bit of eyeshadow shy of becoming Mimi...and don't get me started on perfume...

I think a woman should do whatever she prefers. It's pretty irrelevant what guys think about it. And if your only reason for wearing it is to land a guy, to me that's pretty lame and shallow. But if you wear it because you enjoy it, then go for it.
Me, personally, i'm not into a lot of makeup. The less the better. Not anything to do with my faith, i've just always been that way. Without even noticing it, i usually found myself most attracted to women who wore little to no makeup. Finally one day i thought about it and realized i had been like that since my young teens.

I have pretty pale skin, and a bit of darkness under my eyes. If I don't wear foundation and blush people ask if I am sick :( It is helpful when going into work the next day after calling in sick when I really wasn't. No one questions it lol :rolleyes:

Adjust your thinking...
Make-up is to accentuate and highlight the features... not to CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK. As in play-up the eyes or the mouth, or highlight the shape of the face... the key words are accentuate and highlight. If any woman is putting on make-up to CHANGE the way she looks... that would fall into the category of theatrical costuming and most women do not want to be mistaken for a drag-queen and thus don't usually tend to wear the "sallee- press on face" kind of make-up. Does that help? rethink... NOT CHANGE... rather accentuate and highlight.

I think women usually look much more attractive being natural without make-up, but I don't mind a subtle amount, but definitely not when it is piled on like they are trying to win first prize at a Clown Convention!!! Besides, one clown between us is enough, and since I act like one there is no need for my girlfriend to look like one (that would be clown-overkill - lol).

Ummm... "accentuate and highlight the features" sounds like doublespeak for "change the way you look had you otherwise not worn makeup"

God is more concerned about our inward appearance than outward besides this outward beauty is transient but real inner beauty does not vanish and it is priceless. We should not seek to draw attention to ourselves but adorn ourselves with the ornament of meekness, sober spirit, and modest apparel.
1 Peter 3:3-4
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1 Timothy 2:9- In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Some women cannot leave their room without their mask........err....makeup because of low self-esteem, and they succumb to society's unrealistic pressure on women to look a certain way i.e. the air-brushed-size-zero-plastic-woman-look. Now that's a problem. Remember that God made you special and loves you just the way you are. So ignore those superficial ideologies and let your inner beauty shine through.

I don't particularly like it... I don't really see much wrong with it if for special occasions or something, but I feel it is so... slippery in motivations.

Some of the older ladies in my family who have amazing skin and very few wrinkles have always told me that makeup wasn't the greatest thing for your skin...skin needs to breathe. Most days a little mascara and lip gloss will do it for me. I'm a VERY fair skinned redhead, so I need a little color. :)

Hmmm, did somebody never learn the difference between 'wants' and 'needs'?? :P

I'm sure you look great either way.

I think there is time and place for make up. However, there is something about the use make up that tries to stigmatize beauty which I don't really appreciate.

No you don't. You sparkle! :p :D

Ok, here's the thing with makeup. If women took good care of their skin (and most do), and also took good care of their bodies by keeping them healthy, strong and fit then no amount of makeup would make them look better because they would be naturally beautiful. There are some people who don't have to do anything to look beautiful, but most of us just need to work a little harder at it (eat healthier, more exercise). Of course there is a tipping point too where one can go overboard with the exercise and diet and end up looking too masculine. Its always about striking the right balance.

I think it's okay to put some make up on as long they don't over do it. In my work I'm required to put a light make up in order to look healthy or else ill be mistaken me as the patient. LOL. I believe one of the reasons why girls wants to put make up on because they want to look good and some are insecure. But then again we should bear in our minds that we shouldnt base someone for their looks but for their inner beauty(character,attitude,humility, service and most importantly God-fearing/God-loving). That is all that matters. If you know God everything follows.

LOL@ sparkle! :) I agree, Gabe. A healthy glow from proper nutrition, exercise and fresh air is far better than anything makeup can give us. We should take care of our bodies, but not worship them. I went overboard a couple of years back with P90X and my abs started to look far more defined than I thought appeared feminine. Everything in moderation, huh? :) Except sunblock...I require massive quantities of sunblock. haha
