As I'm doing my studies, I'm seeing its world be of great value to chat with anyone who has experience in cult surviving, deprogramming. etc. Its would be helpful even if some shared ministry names/resources. God bless

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by cult surviving? Like how I survived the west burrow Baptist church?

If you're studying the subject, you probably already know of the two works on the subject by Enroth. If not - and you want to read them - they can be downloaded at Churches That Abuse by Ronald M Enroth.

Mmm - there certainly does appear to be a great many cults and controlling organisations that don't make it to the front pages of the papers (figuratively speaking). After all, if a place says 'You can't be saved unless you obey the leaders', aren't they just trying to put pressure on those under them to stay with them?

Wikipedia defines a cult as '...a religious or social group with socially deviant or novel beliefs and practices' which probably means, of course, a group that has those traits when viewed from without - not within. To those who live within a cult, it can often seem the most logical and true group to continue with.

But, yes, some expopunding of what you meant by 'cult surviving' would help as even Wikipedia's definition is somewhat narrow.
