I think you are including some things in this post from posts that I haven't read, because I've said nothing about visions, dreams, audible voices, etc. If you are obeying the Lord's commandments, then you are doing fine. Just don't forget the greatest commandment of them all, that you are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul (Matt 22:34-40).

Oh right, apologies. I assumed wrongly that you were saying that bible reading and personal growth in Christ are not essential nor inextricably linked to the Christian life. Man oh man when is Santa going to come down my chimney and smack some sense into me? Or maybe ill just say hes a very bearded and large angel sent from heaven in a vision... hehe okay that was a bit of a low blow i admit

That is false. Not all people come to Christ through the Gospel. People come to Christ through the bible, by hearing, by manifestations/seeing him or angels and and and. God is not limited to written words nor will he limit himself.

I have to respectfully disagree with you here. The Bible is pretty clear that in order to be saved, you must be first taught the Gospel. I do not think it is limiting God. I know people can feel the Holy Spirit convict them of sins, and can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, but that is not the same as coming to saving faith. That comes through the preaching of the Word. This is why missions are so important. Extrabiblical things are not trustworthy. The Bible is.

I agree with every thing you have posted in this thread, except for the word MOST. ALL people must come to Christ through the gospel. This extrabiblical stuff is dangerous ground. Audible and visual experiences are not to be trusted. They could be flesh, they could be illness, they could be of Satan. Satan himself comes as an angel of light. The Bible says Romans 10:14-15 "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring tidings of good things!"

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

I agree with you completely (except for the word most) good job defending the Bible in this thread.

I agree with you 100percent in terms of the extra biblical stuff. My clarification is all must come to the gospel period but most come through the preaching of it from a person and others from looking at a piece of art? Yeah i know right, coming to the gospel through the means of art is a close friend of mines testimony. Weird right? But yes agree all must come to the gospel but the means are primarily through the preaching

Yes people come to Christ through hearing. But by reading his word alone, you cant get close to him. People can quote scriptures all day but, without knowing Christ and his voice there is no way of realizing and translating it in the heart. God can reveal himself personally, and through the Bible. You will find that even people who have seen him before the bible, God will always call people to his Word to build up. The bible are the foundation, the faith and seeking of a relationship are the bricks and cement to build on. Theres for Psalm 23 The Lord is my Shepard. He speaks to us and through us. He is a solid Rock/Castle.

AAhhhhh yes i guess? I didnt say reading his word alone... you know it does help if you pray and attend church to hear Gods word etc. Um again the Spirit translates and applies the Word of God in our lives which means yes you need to read to develop a relationship with him. You are correct in saying you can know the bible without knowing Christ but again you cannot know Christ without knowing the bible. Why? Because as you said it is the foundation of our faith. :)

The Bible is very helpful, but if you didn't have a Bible, the Lord would find a way to teach you.

Your testimony is very similar to mine. :) although i wasnt involved in the occult though. So God spoke to you but you couldnt make out what he said? The GOD OF THE UNIVERSE spoke to you and you cant remember? Really? For me it was the opposite... I too was contemplating suicide on the third story balcony of y high school at night and prayed to God to show himself to me. After i said that nothing happened. Nothing happened for months until i met a christian who told me the gospel of grace and peace and forgiveness... and at the time I ran to him even though i did not hear him or see visions. I read his Word and boy oh boy it convicted me and revealed Gods love and goodness to me. John 20:29 "Blessed are those who do not see and yet believe" I guess i do not understand why you cant remember what God said? Afterall this is God talking to you? and to forget what he said is like huh?

The first thing he said i can't remember, but then he started quoting genesis... I guess i don't remember what the first few words he said was because his voice came booming out of nowhere, and also because, as He was speaking things were coming to life, so i was pretty much watching what he was speaking, seeing it manifest, and hearing him audibly at the same time... so its not like i was not listening to the words, because i saw everything HE said.

I give up. I wasnt talking about getting saved..

My apologies, I thought you meant people can come to Christ through visions, dreams, and an audible voice.

They can, but even among those who do, they could have heard the Word first (but not believed until there was a dream or vision). I know I came to Jesus full-heartedly because of a dream, but by that time the Word had been planted in me long before.

But having a dŕeam or vision before hearing the Gospel is not exactly unheard of either. It's just becomes super-important that the Word confirms the dream, because a person can dream anything. My dream was confirmed by the Word and that makes all the difference. :)

"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him

Matthew in the beautitudes the pure in heart will see God

God confirms his word through visions dreams and revelations . He is Spirit not man so he isn't limited to creation the natural realm he isn't limited to words on his book the bible the Word is living its alive many Muslims will only come to faith because of a revelation from God. The day I got saved I just wanted to go to heaven on that day I had such a desire I believed a window or portal would open up and I'd go nobody stopped me from believing that as a child ' because it was extrabiblical' and God honored that desire later on on life through visions

I thought about that too. Many ex-Muslims became Christian because of a dream or vision they had of Jesus.

Usually when people hear from God they bow there face before him in reverence. I honestly just believe that if God spoke we would die from the radiance of his glory and majesty.

Usually they do, but i guess he wanted my face looking up so i could see what i saw... and sure i would have died if it was old testament when God's spirit did not live inside of people, and when people were not the temple of God.

I didn't ask for or want that experience, God gave it to me because i needed it...often times people want the experiences, but they don't need them..God is in the business of giving a person what they need, and not so much of what they want... The simple fact was, i was about to die that day, but He came through with something that changed my mind.
