A lot of other believers talk about how we need to read are Bible in the context to understand it. Now I've got a lot of some desperate prayers by short and brief words in scripture. This is the living word. So my question is can the Lord not talk to us short and brief in scripture too? I think so. Idk if it's me or just the harassment of others throwing it at me " your reading it wrong" . Just some advice would be appreciated.
That’s a beautiful and honest question — and I really appreciate your heart in asking it.

You’re absolutely right that God can speak to us through even a short phrase or verse of Scripture. His Word is “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). The same Spirit who inspired it can use a single line to pierce our heart, comfort us, or guide us in the moment — that’s part of the miracle of the living Word.

At the same time, reading in context helps us understand what God originally meant before we apply it personally. It keeps us anchored so we don’t mistake our emotions or others’ opinions for His actual message. The two go hand in hand — the Spirit illuminates the Word, and context keeps us grounded in truth (2 Timothy 2:15; John 16:13).

So yes, the Lord absolutely can speak in short, brief, powerful ways through Scripture — but He never contradicts what He’s already said in the fuller context of His Word. When both the Spirit and the context agree, you can be confident you’ve heard from Him.

Don’t let anyone discourage you from listening to God’s voice through His Word — just keep letting the Word interpret itself, and the Spirit will give you clarity and peace.

Grace and peace, my friend.
