I'm wondering what the OP is about, what it is he's looking for. He says he has lost his belief and then argues with everyone that responds to him. Why do people come here and ask a question they don't want answered? I dont know why they bother.

I'm not aggressive, I have come across people like you in the past, all your questions have been answered by many in the past, get off your lazy backside and do some better research. I can not be bothered to discuss the same old things over and over and over with fools like you. This website has many many false Christians, you can get into a discussion like the one about 'Jesus Christ is not God' but the minute you touch on a subject that they don't like and you bring them into question they will shut you down simply because of their cowardice.

Not liking a foul odor is not the same as a fear of bad smelling lies

In his make believe fox hunt, the fox has given him the slip. The coyote he now stalks, can never be dispatched for fear of learning it is not the fox that he wants others to believe he is hunting.

All those coyote hunters need mirrors and smoke to keep the illusion alive.

"true science" is true science because they say so. It never has HAD to be true science. It helps relieve guilt when one tricks one's own mind.

They are seeking peace for a mind living in lies,so the bible needs to be the bad guy,not the idol of man worship.

Let's make another example :a man lives egyp in ancient time before there was a bible or jesus .During his life he makes s lot of bad things:kills, rapes, steals. He worships and prays to his god Ra .Let's say that at the late years of his life our man looks back and sees all the bad things he had done ,he feels bad an repents to his god Ra ,admits he did wrong and ask for forgiveness. How is this any different what christians do : sin and then repent to their God and ask for forgiveness. So our egyptian is doomed to hell just because he did not believe in the corect god.

Why do you think satan has worked so hard to make us believe "repenting" is feeling sorry, and moaning to a god about it... no matter which god?

I had believed . Not anymore . Why is this so hard to believe?
So now i believe that the bible is not true and that the stories are not actual
past events.
But i might be convinced otherwise if my issues and question are answer satisfactory.

So instead of babbling nonsense about something you can't know for sure to be true(why i made this post and if my reasons i gave are the correct ones)you could have addressed the issues and questions or you could have just stop coming to my post.So simple.

The "true science" gave us the tool "internet" and because of it we can talk today even though we are at thousands of miles apart; gave you the opportunity to be a troll in this post.
Why be wise, intelligent and decent like chester and try to refute the arguments may they be silly or not, unfunded or not, stupid or not, when you can be a first class troll?

-->Willie-T :"Why do you think satan has worked so hard to make us believe "repenting" is feeling sorry, and moaning to a god about it... no matter which god?"

If we are free moral agents , our moral choices should not be affected by an outside force. If this happens we are
then not free moral agents and cannot be judged by our "not so free" moral choice.

"Q: Are all these intelligent people called scientists wrong?
A: No, there are not because the scientific process has proven very reliable so far. Without it we wouldn’t have now all these amazing things like: smartphones, cars, internet, medicine, electric power.
The scientific process has been the only reliable measuring stick so far.Why not applying to religion to ?"

Q: Also Would a God that claims he wants a personal relationship based on belief and love with all the scientists let the bible say what it says and confuse most of them making it impossible for them to believe?
A: In my opinion he would not.

Are scientists wrong? About what?
They are right about the law of gravity, the laws of physics, about molecular structure, etc. -- but these are not "laws of nature" -- They are the laws that God put into place when he created the heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1). So of course these laws are orderly, make sense, and can be depended upon! Scientists cannot do anything original: they can only "hijack" the laws of God. So the "smartphones, internet, electrical power, etc." are God's!

"without the scientific process we wouldn't have all these things" - change it to: Without the God who created all the laws of the universe and all the "stuff" of the universe we wouldn't have all these things.

Scientists are wrong about how the universe came to be. I don't see how anyone who intelligently and deeply thinks can really believe that all of the intricate details and beauty of the world came about by random chance. It would be easier to believe that there was a random pile of bricks and wood on a pile, then there was a "big bang explosion" and then when the smoke cleared, my house was standing there. Furthermore, even if the 'big bang" is accepted as true, then I ask "where did the stuff come from that made the big bang?" Did the matter in all of the planets and stars that we know about somehow spontaneously begin out of nothing in the past? (Well, I believe it did -- but it was because God created it!)

I guess I don't know for sure what you mean by this question:
let the bible say what it says and confuse most of them making it impossible for them to believe?
It seems to me that God says it quite simply and clearly - "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" - I don't know what is confusing about that or how that makes it impossible to believe.

I love science and I think that the men that study science have done a lot of great things: but the foundation is the Creation of what God did first: that is why I say the Bible and not science must be the measuring stick.

Sorry I can't answer more now: I think I will have more time tomorrow.

alexxcjRO: Note that my answer will be interspersed with quotes from you:

""Let’s look what righteous and blameless mean:
Righteous - upright, upstanding, decent, morally right or justifiable, good, virtuous, upstanding, worthy.
Blameless - innocent of wrongdoing, guiltless, above reproach, beyond criticism, above suspicion, irreproachable, unimpeachable, in the clear, not to blame, without fault, faultless, exemplary, perfect, virtuous, pure, moral, upright, impeccable, sinless, unblemished, spotless, stainless, untarnished, "he led a blameless life";

Bible verses: (Jeremiah 19:4-5), (Deuteronomy 1:39), (Genesis 6:9).
The Bible tells us that:
Small children are incapable of fully understanding either their spiritual condition or God's requirements for salvation. Can God judge them even though they don't understand the basis of that judgment? The Bible does indicate that children are innocent, for example, when describing how some of the Israelites in the Valley of Benhinnom had become corrupt so as to sacrifice their own (innocent) children.
Small children are regarded as being innocent because of their lack of ability to discern between good and evil, they are no capable of making moral choices. So they are morally correct, righteous and blameless in the eyes of God."

I think I would basically agree here with what you say the Bible says about the state of children. They are not held morally responsible for their decisions until they come to what some call "the age of accountability" (though Scripture does not use that terminology). So you say they are "morally correct, righteous, and blameless" in God's eyes. And you give a definition of righteous and blameless above as well.

I would use words like "innocent, safe" for children rather than "morally correct" or "righteous" -- but I think the key is realizing that children before accountability are in a different situation than adults who have chosen to have faith in Jesus. I would use words like "morally correct" and "righteous" to describe adults to whom God has imputed the righteoulsness of Jesus Christ.

So, my use of these terms may be different than the dictionary definitions -- my main point is that innocent children and adults who have put their faith in Christ are in different situations. Yes, I believe both if they die go to heaven, but I would use different words to describe their situation.

"Noah and his family were saved because they were the only righteous and blameless in the eyes of God(it clearly says this in the bible), while the rest of the humans and were not saved for being to corrupt, violent and sinful ;

I searched Genesis 6,7 for this concept and found Genesis 7:1 - "And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation". Genesis 6:9 also says that Noah was a "just and a perfect man" and Genesis 6:5-7 talk about God seeing the wickedness of mankind and saying he is going to destroy them.

I didn't actually see that the text says that Noah and his family were saved because they were the only righteous and blameless people. Yes, Noah was righteous and the wicked are said to destroyed because of their evil. But if the text does not say that God saved all of the "innocent and righteous", then the basis for your argument here breaks down. Am I missing a verse or idea here that you found?

"Observations:
At the time of Noah must have been at least a single small child, a descendant from the lines of Abel(Lamech father of Noah had multiple sons and daughter, therefore he must had at least one grandchild or grand-grandchild ) or Cain.
Both Noah and the small children if they died would have gone to Heaven.
God being all powerful could have teleported the children to the ark.
Analyzing facts from different chapters and verses of the bible against each other leads to a major contradiction:

a) Human small children – were righteous in the eyes of God.
b) Noah and his family - were righteous in the eyes of God.
c) The rest of the humans - were not righteous in the eyes of God.
d) God killed all humans that were not righteous and saved only the righteous.
Statements a), b), c), d), are considered true in the bible."

Response:
(1) Can statement (d) be proved from a direct Scripture verse?
(2) Even if statement (d) is correct I would argue that in statements a and b the same term "righteous" should not be used for
both children and adults. There must be a distinction made between the two groups. I do not think that Scripture anywhere puts them together in the same category as "righteous in the eyes of God". Yes, they both go to heaven when they die, but I don't think it is fair to assume that when (if) scripture says that God saved all of the "righteous" from the flood that this can be used to argue that all of the children were saved.

So, here is what I think happened: Noah and his family were most likely the only "righteous" adults in the world, and so God saved them. The rest of mankind was destroyed in the flood. The adults were destroyed because of their wickedness. The children were destroyed in the flood as well, but being "innocent" will be in heaven.

I am not sure what you mean by your last line - "He has already spend an eternity with them being an omnipresent and omniscient God" - if God had chosen not to create the world and man, then man would never have existed at all -- hence not possible for God to have fellowship with man. Only God has existed for all eternity. Man is created at a point in time and then will exist for the rest of time and on into eternity. So, yes, God does need to create the world to experience fellowship with man. If God had created only "robots", there could be no "fellowship". But the eternal, all-powerful God, desires fellowship and communion with you and I! I agree that is mind boggling and stretching and heart rending to realize the eternal implications of hell! Horrors!

AlexxcjRO wrote: "God killed them for their moral choice. The 20 year old died not because God's intervention concerning his belief and morality but because of natural events somewhat independent of God.But humans at the time of Noah being free moral agents and having freedom of will, God should have not intervened and punish them for their moral choice. This contradicts what free will is in my opinion."

What are you saying that to an all powerful, all loving God hearing for eternity the pain and sorrow of billions of people would fade in the background because of the glory, joy and fellowship of the few redeemed saints. This is absurd in my opinion .

Here is a hypothetical question, but I want to make a point with it!: If God would "die", then what would happen?
Yes, I know God won't die! But if He would, I believe that everything in the entire universe would immediately cease to exist. God did not just create the world, but "by him all things consist" (Col 1:17). Man thinks that nature and science controls events on Earth! No, God does! No person can take their next breath without the help of God.

So, I don't see any real difference in the dilemma of God shortening lives by the Biblical flood, or God shortening lives in the tsunami in Indonesia, or God allowing lives to be shortened yesterday in the terrorist attacks yesterday in Istanbul. So, now you say, that raises more questions: I agree, but I think there are answers!

AlexxcjRO wrote: "The fact that Gandhi didn't figure it out after a life of searching for the truth, after reading the bible that the God of the bible is the real, only God and that Jesus is his son tells that it is not plain for everyone to see.
For me it is not perfect justice when people like Gandhi can be so severely guilty, corrupted in the eyes of God and receive such harsh punishment while Hitler can have a pass from punishment just for a sudden change of heart in the last moments of his life.
Also let me show you other problem with the perfect justice of God:We you rape, steal or murder, you have you sinned both against the victim and against God. So if God "the victim" deems that is necessary that you to repent and ask for forgiveness to him so to receive his mercy why is not then also necessary for you to repent and ask for forgiveness to the other victim so to receive mercy. If God "the victim" has the choice to forgive the guilty who repents and asks for forgiveness and punish those who do not why the other victim is not entitled to the same choice. If God forgives the guilty through Jesus of both the sin against him and the victim, he denies the victim the choice to exert punishment or offer forgiveness for the sin committed against them and say to the other future guilty individuals that is fine just to ask forgives to the most important victim. This is not an example of perfect justice and infinite wisdom, just a complete indifference and ignorance to the other victim suffering and rightful choice to punish or forgive.

Example: There was in one point in the ancient times a powerful, just, kind and merciful king. One day both his and one of his peasants sun are being killed by the same individual at the same time. After several years the one of guilty looked for the king, found him and asked for his forgiveness. The powerful, just, kind and merciful king saw that he was truthfully remorseful and forgave him of both of his and his peasant son's murder. Then he grants him a place in the royal palace while at the same time punishes another murderer to a life of imprisonment and torture. He doesn't bother to ask the other victim: the peasant if he feels the same way. He just deliberately denied the peasant the right to choose whether to punish or forgive and showed by doing this no empathy for his subject suffering.

Analyzing this possible scenario against the attributes of God leads to a major contradiction:
a) God is all powerful, all loving and infinite in his mercy and wisdom with a perfect justice.
b) God created a system of justice that negates the others victims of sin the choice to punish or forgive the guilty party that wronged them.
Statements a), b) are considered true in the bible.

Q: Can both statements be true at the same time?
A: No, it is logically impossible."

I have not studied the life of Gandhi: so I want to be careful about what I say. You seem to hold him up highly as a person who seriously searched for truth. I don't know that I have much of a response to that except to say that when I look at the world around me, when I look at the truth of the Christian Scriptures, and the story of the Bible, it is very clear to me. I can't speak for Gandhi. I don't know why he didn't see the truth of the Bible.

Discussion: Sinning against the victim and God: God forgives but does not give the same choice to the victim:

Perspective: Your portrayal of God as just forgiving but not caring about the victim forgets this: God, as the supreme ultimate Creator and power of all the universe, as the perfect God, is not distant. He came to Earth (Jesus) and suffered and gave His life for the "victim". He cares deeply and has provided a clear way for the "victim" to find fellowship, healing and restoration.

Perspective: From an earthly perspective God allows mankind and human government to deal with the consequence of evil deeds. From an eternal perpective and the perspective of ultimate existence you are right that God keeps all of this power of forgiveness for Himself. But what if he hadn't kept it all to Himself? I would not want my eternal destiny in the hands of humans? Can you imagine the chaos and the bribery? The victim might say: "I will forgive you (and thus you can go to heaven) if you give me this or do this and this, etc." This is in part the teaching of Islam: God (Allah) may forgive you, but man may not be as willing to forgive.

But this does not mean God does not care for the victim: He entered the culture and the "time" of Earth as a man and became intimately involved so that all "victims" could find redemption and healing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I seems we are going in circles . Haven't we already establish that elements in the story of the flood are breaking the laws of the universe discovered by scientists and that the story of creation in the bible is not compatible with the story of the creation and expansion of the universe, the creation of stars, light and planets(the earth), with the laws of our universe and how objects(stars,light,evening-morning cycle)within this universe work and behave?

Let me explain again :
“1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”(Genesis 1:1-5)
“14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”(Genesis 1:14-19)

It clearly says "God made two great lights" and "He also made the stars" after the creation of light and the earth.
Observations:
-“the greater light“= our solar system star, the sun.
-“the lesser light” = our moon.

Analyzing facts from the science against those from the bible leads to some major contradictions:
- The bible says God created the Earth before the creation of stars but science tells us that many stars must be born and die for all the elements composed in the Earth to form (like carbon, oxygen, iron, gold).
- The bible says God created light before our star-the sun, but science tells us that light cannot exist without the existence of stars.
- In the bible we have terms like light, day, night, evening and morning before the stars were even mention, but the science tells us that day-night cycle or morning-evening cycle can’t exist without the existence of stars.

Q: Is the story of the creation in the bible scientifically possible and according with the laws of the universe?
A: No, it is not.
Q: Could have God created the universe, stars, light, planets(Earth) so to fit the story discovered by scientists or
A: Yes.
Q: If he indeed made the universe the way the scientists say, would he let the bible say otherwise?
A: No, he would not.
Q: Would a God that wants a personal relationship based on belief with all the scientists want to confuse most of them and by this making it impossible for them to believe?
A: No, he would not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scientists admit that theory about Big Bang is not a true fact yet. This the best explanation so far. They are trying to prove this or find other explanation like they did in the past with other things.
How can you know that they are wrong and that God of the bible did it, did you witnesed the beggining of the universe?
I say maybe there are multiple universes independent of each other and in one of these universes: a billion old civilization has the technology to create a universe outside of their own. In one of their successful experiments they create our universe.
You may ask : Who created their universe ? and go in infinite regress with the question.
The same applies to God :Who created him ? and again go in infinite regress with the question.

Is Christian theory more plausible then mine,i don't think so.

I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.[/FONT][FONT=&quot] "[/FONT](Genesis 6:9-13).

If small children are blameless and nor corrupted how come we have this statement :"for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways."It does not says only all adults people.
When God speaks with Noah he says :
[FONT=&quot] “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them." .These clearly suggest that all people (even small children) are filled with violence and not only adults people. So how can small children be corrupted and filled with violence if they are blameless and innocent.

So what you are saying its ok to commit small children genocide because they go to heaven. Why then not all Christians kill their children so they 100% go to a eternity of bliss and joy with God in heaven.By not killing them they somehow condemn them to a high chance of going to an eternity of torment and separation of God in hell.So the parents of kids are presented with a dilemma when they have a kid.
I was morally repulsed by this analysis, and deeply concerned about the intellectual and moral fibre of all the believers who found it commendable.”

Ah! It looks like you are going to keep me busy for awhile! :)

I will answer more later, but just this for now:

AlexxcjRO wrote: "So what you are saying its ok to commit small children genocide because they go to heaven. Why then not all Christians kill their children so they 100% go to a eternity of bliss and joy with God in heaven.By not killing them they somehow condemn them to a high chance of going to an eternity of torment and separation of God in hell.So the parents of kids are presented with a dilemma when they have a kid.

I can't speak for other parents, but here is how I see the situation: Kill my child, so he goes to heaven! Absolutely not! That makes me a murderer! Is this world a dangerous place to raise children? Sure it is! But I am going to invest the very best of my time and energies into raising my children to become a part of the Christian church that is investing time, resources, and the very best that they have to reach the world with the message of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. I am endeavoring to raise my children so that they help in the battle to get the message of salvation through Jesus out to the world.

The issue of God being blamed for committing "genocide" and killing innocent children is a valid question. To answer that well takes more than what I can do here in a few minutes.

One perspective: In the beginning God created Adam and Eve without death. It was the sin of man that brought death into the world - "the wages of sin is death". God's perfect justice demands death for sin: but He did not stand passively by: He sent His Son into this world. God did not just let death reign for ever: he provided a way so that life can reign when we put our faith in Jesus and accept his sacrifice at Calvary. Physical death is not the ultimate end: spiritual (eternal) death is the ultimate end. God has taken care of the spiritual (eternal) death, and so for the believer physical death holds no power and no fear.

You said: "I was morally repulsed by this analysis, and deeply concerned about the intellectual and moral fibre of all the believers who found it commendable" -- Hmmmmm!!? It seems to me that you suggesting that Christians could kill their children so they go to heaven - I could say I am "morally repulsed by this analysis, and deeply concerned about the intellectual and moral fibre of all who found it commendable". :) !!!!!!

God being all powerful therefore omniscient and omnipresent. In his mind he already experienced an infinity of bliss and joy in fellowship with the men in heaven before he created the world. He does not need to create the world to experience fellowship. So why does he chose to create the world in which many of the people of the world end up in suffering?

You also might say that a being must have freewill to be happy. The omnibenevolent God did not wish to create robots, so he gave humans freewill to enable them to experience love and happiness. But the humans used this freewill to choose evil, and introduced imperfection into God’s originally perfect universe. God had no control over this decision, so the blame for our imperfect universe is on the humans, not God.Here is why the argument is weak. First, if God is omnipotent, then the assumption that freewill is necessary for happiness is false. If God could make it a rule that only beings with freewill may experience happiness, then he could just as easily have made it a rule that only robots may experience happiness. The latter option is clearly superior, since perfect robots will never make decisions which could render them or their creator unhappy, whereas beings with freewill could. A perfect and omnipotent God who creates beings capable of ruining their own happiness is impossible.
Second, even if we were to allow the necessity of freewill for happiness, God could have created humans with freewill who did not have the ability to choose evil, but to choose between several good options.

God shorten their life because of their moral choice.God did not kill all those indonesians because of their moral choice. There is a clear distinction.
Let's make an example :
I am in a specific moment in my life. A man is standing in my way of becoming millionaire . I can choose to kill him and remove the obstacle or choose not to and remain poor. God said not to kill but he also allowed people to not obey his rules(see Adam and Eve example). If i am a free moral agent i can choose whatever i want .If i choose to kill him and God comes and kills me because i choose poorly it means i am not a free moral agent .
People on the time of Noah chose as free moral agents to sin ,but God killed them for their choice suggesting they weren't allowed to.
So how is it then, are we or not moral free agents?

-->Chester :Perspective: From an earthly perspective God allows mankind and human government to deal with the consequence of evil deeds. From an eternal perspective and the perspective of ultimate existence you are right that God keeps all of this power of forgiveness for Himself.

In the final judgment the other victim should have a say if the guilty receive some kind of punishment or not.
Every person should receive some kind of punishment if guilty. One should receive 6 months in hell, another maybe 10 years, another 50 years and so one. If you have perfect justice no one should be absolved of punishment. We should have as much different kinds of punishments as much humans lived on earth.Every human is different and has lived his life in a different way.

->>chester: "You said: "I was morally repulsed by this analysis, and deeply concerned about the intellectual and moral fibre of all the believers who found it commendable" -- Hmmmmm!!? It seems to me that you suggesting that Christians could kill their children so they go to heaven - I could say I am "morally repulsed by this analysis, and deeply concerned about the intellectual and moral fibre of all who found it commendable". :) !!!!!!"

I think that saying" it's k to kill small children is because they go to Heaven" would lead to the scenario in which some parents might think to do this because it's also **** up to let them take chances of going to hell.
I just presented a scenario, i didn't said it's ok for Christians to kill their kids. You said in exchange that is ok for God to kill small children, so somehow you condone it.

-->kaylagrl :"I'm wondering what the OP is about, what it is he's looking for. He says he has lost his belief and then argues with everyone that responds to him. Why do people come here and ask a question they don't want answered? I don't know why they bother."

-->popeye : " "true science" is true science because they say so. It never has HAD to be true science. It helps relieve guilt when one tricks one's own mind.

They are seeking peace for a mind living in lies,so the bible needs to be the bad guy,not the idol of man worship."

Well Alex,
When you say " free will" it means you can pick whatever you want, but it doesn't say you are not influenced by external forces :D. For example if I want to buy a car. my parents will say to pick a type of car, my brothers will say to pick another type of car, but even if I am influenced I will choose between those choices or other, I am capable of discerning . If somebody says to jump from a building you don't obey because you know it's dangerous, even if you have external motivations. So you are able to choose, you have free will. Sometimes you don't listen to your consciouns and do bad things even though you feel guilt and a moment in your head questioned wether to act or not. Even I felt this, everyone has, we found out after the consequences appeared, but we knew from the start that is wrong. The consequences only strenghtened our pre-act thoughts!

alexxcjRO wrote: It seems we are going in circles .

Response: The issue here is what is the starting point? Is the starting point the Biblical text (what God says) or is the starting point what man (scientists) think they have discovered. I take the Biblical text as my starting point and accept it as fact. But you are at a different point, and that is OK . . .

Part of what is happening in science today is that scientists (I don't say all of them) have already decided that God cannot and does not exist and so of course they will interpret all of the evidence as otherwise. On the other hand, Biblical creation scientists believe the Biblical text and look at the same evidence and interpret in a completely different way. If you haven't already seen this website, take a look at Answers in Genesis website: answersingenesis.org. This would be the approach they take.

If a person is where you are (you are asking - which is truth?): you need to objectively look at the evidence - and I think you are trying to do that - but I would suggest you be careful to not just accept as "truth" everything that scientists say. Have you studied and read and carefully analyzed what creation scientists have found and said? Or, are you basing you judgment that biblical creation does not match true science on what you read from secular scientists?

My guess is what you say about science is based on what you have heard and read -- of course! - we all do this (unless we have done all the study first hand ourselves). For myself I had twelve years of public school and secular science - I learned lots of good things and I love studying the laws that God has put in place in the universe - but when it comes to the origins of the universe I have found the evidence points to an earth that is young (thousands of years old) rather than to an earth that is millions of years old. I find the evidence of organizations like answersingenesis much more compelling than the evidence of secular science.

AlexxcjRO wrote:

Response: OK, just suppose "science" is right! Many stars had to be born and die before Earth could form. Then where did those stars come from? Wherever you start there had to be some original "stuff" - where did that come from?

Response: In other words, I don't accept as fact that "
science tells us that many stars must be born and die for all the elements composed in the Earth to form (like carbon, oxygen, iron, gold)." If God made the original "stuff" he can do whatever he wants to anytime.

- The bible says God created light before our star-the sun, but science tells us that light cannot exist without the existence of stars.

Response: The Bible says that "God is light" - so if the Bible is correct, we can't tie God into a system that stars must exist before "light" can exist

Response: Part of the issue is that you assume that scientists really want to know the truth: some may (as I think that you do): but if man does not want to believe, he simply will not look at the evidence objectively. Your four question scenario above begins with the laws of science (the laws of the universe) as the starting point and then makes God fit inside of that. The trouble is that "the laws of the universe" as science defines them rule out the existence of God. They are biased and deny the evidence!!! You can't start with them and expect to come out at truth.

Back up and begin by looking around you at the world as you see it and live in it? Honestly and objectively (scientifically) analyze it? Did it get here by random processes? Do random process produce ever even one living cell? Or does what you see in the world point to a Creator and Designer? I think it clearly points to a designer - hence my starting point is what God (and the Bible) says.

I don't think God is trying to confuse scientists and making it hard for them to believe! Look out at what you see -- I think the evidence is clear and easy to understand - There is a Creator!

AlexxcjRO: I know I am behind in answering your questions: I will keep at it - but I will probably not be able to do any more today.

I had believe 10 years that the Bible is true . Now i am not so sure . Here are some of the problems that i found:

The story of Creation - in the Bible it says God created the universe and life in just 6 days in this order first
the Earth, then the Sun,Moon, the stars and finally life but science tells us a different thing
first was the Big Bang, then the stars ,then the earth and moon, then life, all of this took billions
of years. The question is how can both science and bible be correct?

MY REPLY:

The bible uses a great many literally forms, so while everything is in a n=manner of speaking" true; NOT EVERYTHING is literally FACTUAL.

1. For GOD time does not exist, everything is "present" {past, present and future}, so it could have been 6 days, seconds, years are centuries. God's Creations flows from His THOUGHTS, NOT some sort of labor as we know it.

2. My friend have you ever been exposed to the One Infallible Rule for right understanding of the Bible? Which BTW is a Catholic Book.

Never Ever; can, may or DOES
One verse, passage or teaching have the power or authority to
Invalidate, make void or override another
Verse, passage or teaching:
Were this even the slightest possibility;[it’s NOT!] it would render the entire Bible useless to teach or lean Christ Faith”

2Peter 1: 19-21
And we have the more firm prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [20] Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation. [21] For prophecy came not by the will of man at any time: but the holy men of God spoke, inspired by the Holy Ghost.

[Douay Bible explanation]
[20] No prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation: This shews plainly that the scriptures are not to be expounded by any one's private judgment or private spirit, because every part of the holy scriptures were written by men inspired by the Holy Ghost, and declared as such by the Church; therefore they are not to be interpreted but by the Spirit of God, which he hath left, and promised to remain with his Church to guide her in all truth to the end of the world. Some may tell us, that many of our divines interpret the scriptures: they may do so, but they do it always with a submission to the judgment of the Church, and not otherwise. End Quotes
“Whenever something is good it does not depend on us getting our way, but on God getting His way, and whether we do God’s Will depends on us [humbly] loving God. Moreover to love God we must [actually] know God, [not just know OF God].” Bread of Life booklet January 9, 2016”[Mt 7:21]

2[SUP]nd[/SUP]. Peter 3: 14-18
“Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, beware lest you be carried away with the error of lawless men and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen”

2. So here's what we as Christians MUST believe about the STORY of Creation:

That GOD is, and God Did ALL of Creation {WHY God choose to do this can be found in Isaiah 43: verses 7 & 21}

That the Created Universe exist for a very precise reason, and that reason reason being so that ALL of humanity [none excluded} COULD know of God's existence

That "Adam & Eve" {our 1st parents who may have been called something other than A & E?} were in FACT Created by God for the possibility of His Glory.

That Adam {co-opted by Eve} DID choose to sin grievously

That God knew that they would

That God planned the Incarnation {birth of the God-MAN} from all eternity

Because ONLY God could off-set the sins of Adam

NEXT POINT

The story of Adam and Eve -Adam and Eve were like small children : innocent , naive and with no knowledge of right and
wrong.God punished them for breaking his only rule by banishing them from a life of bliss, abundance,
immortality and no pain in Eden to a life of struggle, pain and mortality. They were bound to make
mistakes and not listen to their father because they haven’t experienced yet the consequences of
doing that. Also we must not forget that God didn’t explain what death is. If they had known that
for their transgression the punishment would be so severe they probably wouldn't have eaten the
forbidden fruit. So the question is how an all loving, just God in his infinite wisdom and mercy
could punish his beloved children so drastically at their first mistake?Isn't God's justice perfect?

No, This is a Moral impossibility:

READ Genesis 1:26-27 "[FONT=&quot][[/FONT]26[FONT=&quot]] Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." [/FONT][FONT=&quot][[/FONT]27[FONT=&quot]] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them"

[/FONT]
THIS part of the "Story" is Literal. If anyone would like to know exactly how this is fulfilled {READ John 4:23-24} to see WHY I ask the question, please let me know, bot so as to not change the topic at hand, I will simply sate that it is impossible that they were innocent of right and wrong, They like God had freewill's and were able to choose RIGHT & Wrong AND THUS SIN. They may NOT have known the consequences, BUT were able to discern and choose right and wrong.

Genesis 2:16-17 "[16] And he commanded him, saying: Of every tree of paradise thou shalt eat: [17] But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death."

WHILE they had yet to experience the consequences they WERE nevertheless told that they would be HARSH!

And while God did not expand on the consequences; they WERE aware that they would be severe {Divine Justice DEMANDED such knowledge}

It is significant that THEY were tempted by Satan, NOT unmotivated-inclined to sin.

God had provided for them VRY possible want. They literally had NO {Zip needs}. ALL that they were lacking was to actually be GOD

Gen. 3:5 "[For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil."

As to your last question: How Could God do such a thing?

Divine Justice is exactly that: Divine-Godly and unable to error {literally} judgment

It was precisely because A & E COULD Sin, HAD knowledge of Right & Wrong, that God HAD TO in Divine Justice, punish their sinful act. Again God HAD provided for their Every want and need except actually being God. Amen!

NEXT point:

The story of Noah- Men have became more corrupt and violent except Noah and his family who were righteous. God gets angry and decides to destroy the world through a flood.Tells Noah to build an ark and bring 2 of every land
animal in the ark in 7 days .We know that the circumference of the Earth is about 40,000 km and for
example the distance from the Middle East and Australia is ~ 11,000 km .So the question is how he
managed to covered hundreds of thousands of km and gather all the animals from every corner of the
earth in just few days?

OK? So God can {and DID" Create the entire Universe, its Natural and Its Moral Laws, BUT God can't do this simple thing?.... So where dear friend is faith and understanding of God's unlimited ability to do ANY Good thing?

- God spared Noah and his family for being righteous, yet he killed at least one small child in the flood.
Jesus said small children in the eyes of God are innocent, righteous and not corrupted .So wouldn't an
all loving God in his infinite wisdom and mercy would have spared also all the children may they have
been in the thousands, hundreds or just one? Isn't God's justice perfect?

MY REPLY:

Isaiah 55: 6-10
6] Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found: call upon him, while he is near. [7] Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God: for he is bountiful to forgive. [8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways my ways, saith the Lord. [9] For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts End Quote

So now mortal ma, God's creation is somehow empowered to TELL GOD what is right and what is NOT?

Continued:

- God created the rainbow after the flood implying that there never was a rainbow before the flood. This
contradicts the scientific definition of what rainbows are because if you have light, refraction of
light and rain you have rainbows. This leads to the only conclusion that there are only three possible
scenarios that create an environment where rainbow would not form:

1.There is no sunlight. But terrestrial life is dependent on sunlight, in this scenario all life
would have died.
2.There was no rain but the Bible tells us of rain before the supposed creation of the rainbow.
3.Light did not refract but if light did not refract, sight would be impossible. It is light
refracting in the lens of the eye that allows sight by focusing the light onto the retina.
The question is how can both science and bible be correct?

MY REPLY:
The reference of a rainbow is a metaphysical LESSON, that TEACHES us that God freely choose to make another covenant with humanity. It does NOT deny the possibility of previous rainbows.

The concept of Hell- Hell is a place where men go if they disobey Gods rules and not repent before their death, a place

A Reasonable question, BIT ONLY SO if, and only IF we understand how to explain Gen 1:26-27 verses John 4:23-25, AND if we have a right understanding of BOTH the Divine Nature of God and all that it implies AND also the Natures of Sin.

Gen 1:26-27 "
[26] And he said: Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him have dominion over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the whole earth, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth. [27] And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them."

John 4:23-24 "
[23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true adorers shall adore the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father also seeketh such to adore him. [24] God is a spirit; and they that adore him, must adore him in spirit and in truth"

In order for God to be justifed in His Decision to Create Heaven Hell & Purgatory {Which BTW is Biblical}, God HAD to Create man with a mind, intellect and freewill {which He did}, thus man chooses heavenor Hell and GOD only affirms our life choices. Amen

Heb.6: 10 “For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.”

Rev.2: 23 “and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.”

1 Peter 1: 17 “Now if you invoke as Father him who judges impartially according to each one's works, conduct yourselves with reverence during the time of your sojourning, “

“ Matt.19: 17 “And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments."

Rom.2: 13 “For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.”

John 3:5 “Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.

Wouldn't God's perfect justice demand a punishment proportional to the number and gravity of sins?
- Throughout the human history of hundreds of thousands of years man had believed in thousands of
different Gods, from gods of wind, trees and animals, to polytheistic gods of the vikings: Odin,
Loki,Thor or of the romans and greeks: Jupiter,Mars,Venus/Zeus,Ares,Aphrodite or of the egyptians:
Ra,Osiris,Horus or of the hindi:Shiva,Vishnu,Brahma to monotheistic gods like Allah,Ahura Mazda,
Buddha,Zalmoxis. Some of these gods are still worshiped today and they will be in the future. This
leads to a rather unsettling conclusion that all the people that never heard of the bible but
failed to figure it out that the right god is Yahweh or just failed to figure it out that there
is a god at all or be born in a different religion and consequently believed, worshiped and prayed
to their god or gods, are doomed to an eternity of torture in hell. This apply also to both to those
who heard of Yahweh but chose to remain faithful to their religion or belief and also to atheists
and agnostic who can’t believe because of insufficient evidence. Wouldn't an all powerful, all
loving God in his infinite wisdom would have thought of a better kind of revelation of himself then
that of the bible , like for example reveal himself and his wishes clearly, personally to every
human like he did with Noah or Moses or Paul, and by doing which give everyone a equal chance at
salvation and redemption? Why choose to remain hidden, idle while seeing all the billions of people
going on with their lives believing in,worshiping, praying and sacrificing them and others to false
god or gods and in the same time punish them for not obeying his rules when they haven’t even heard
them?

MY REPLY:

God can be defined correctly and briefly as:

"ALL GOOD THINGS PERFECTED"

Hence we can KNOW that God can ONLY do good things.

Are being "fair", being "Just" good things. OF COURSE THEY ARE, so we CAN know that what God does {causes} HAS TO BE both fair and just.

The author of this post seems to thank that God can simply overlook mans freely chosen sins. God CANNOT and still be a just God. WHAT GOD can and DOES do though is consider what He GOD has made possible for reach of us to know. THUS Judgment is based not on our life's choices alone, BUT ON WHAT GOD HAS MADE POSSIBLE FOE EACH OF US TO KNOW.

God's judgement is based on that FACT. Amen

Response: You are right that if we keep going back the question really is: what was in the beginning? and then how did that universe, or matter, or God come into existence? Was I there? No Was any person there? I haven't talked with anyone yet who was! :)

But God was there and He has given man a written record of what happened. The Bible begins by very clearly answering the question with the first four words: "In the beginning God . . ." I believe that God has always been in eternity: and then He is the one who created "time" in which we live today. Scripture also says there will come a time when "time" will be no more.

The only other option I can see is that somehow something came out of nothing at some point in time! And that something that came out of nothing kept going till we have the universe we have today!

Is the evolutionary model more plausible than the Christian one? Each person must decide and weigh the evidence.

Chester wrote:"I didn't actually see that the text says that Noah and his family were saved because they were the onlyrighteous and blameless people. Yes, Noah was righteous and the wicked are said to destroyed because of their evil. But if the text does not say that God saved all of the "innocent and righteous", then the basis for your argument here breaks down. Am I missing a verse or idea here that you found?"

AlexxcjRO replied: "[SUP]9 [/SUP]This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.[SUP] 10 [/SUP]Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.[SUP] 11[/SUP] Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. [SUP]12[/SUP] God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways." 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. "(Genesis 6:9-13).

If small children are blameless and nor corrupted how come we have this statement :"for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways."It does not says only all adults people.
When God speaks with Noah he says :
“I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them." .These clearly suggest that all people (even small children) are filled with violence and not only adults people. So how can small children be corrupted and filled with violence if they are blameless and innocent.

Response: I like how you are carefully analyzing the text here: you ask some good questions. Maybe part of the problem is that we have to be careful how we interpret the use of the word "all". Verse 12 says "all the people on earth had corrupted their ways" - so I suppose we could argue that "all" includes Noah. But the text had just said he was "righteous and blameless" so he must not be included in the "all". The Bible at other places indicates small children are "blameless and innocent" so I think we can exclude them here also.

If the writer here wanted to say that all of the adults except Noah and his family were corrupt how would he say it? Probably he would say it just the way he did say it that "all the people on the earth were corrupt". The writer doesn't have to add all the exceptions (Noah and his family, and young children) because the reader already knows that. Not sure I can prove that directly from the text, but it is what makes sense to me.

So my question above: if the text says that Noah and his family were saved because they were the only righteous and blameless people -- I think you have shown that this is at least what the text clearly implies, even if it doesn't say "only"
directly.

Not sure if you can follow my ramblings above - but I think we come back to your question: How can we explain God killing even one innocent young child in the flood?

This is a very good and valid question: I don't think it has a simple answer -- maybe the best way to answer is by suggesting that there are several threads or parts to the answer we must think about:

(1) God created Adam and Eve in a perfect environment without death. Death came into the world only as a result of man's sin.

(2) But God has not just stood back and let sin reign: instead he personally became involved in the world and came to Earth and suffered and gave his life.

(3) We as humans tend to view physical death as the ultimate end. But God views physical death very differently. We are spiritual beings created in his image.

(4) Innocent children dying in the flood is similar to the same issue that still happens today: innocent children are killed in hurricanes, accidents, etc.

(5) It can easily be seen that abortions (killing children) is a direct result of man's sin and efforts, but in a broader sense, all of the children dying in number 4 are also a result of the sin of Adam (man).

(6) God could have "teleported" the children to the ark - true - but it is a fact that even innocent children suffer because of the choices of their parents.

(7) Why does God allow suffering is the core of this question? Frankly, suffering is a difficult question for anyone to answer. Atheists can say - this is just the way life is, etc. -- but I think that only Christians find real meaning in suffering.

There are probably more threads or parts that should be added. I am not going to pretend, AlexxcjRO, that this question has an easy, straight-forward answer. It is a good question . . . Do carefully ponder the points above . . . and maybe someone else can add some more threads to this answer? There are many good articles and things that have been written on this subject.

AlexxcjRO wrote: God being all powerful therefore omniscient and omnipresent. In his mind he already experienced an infinity of bliss and joy in fellowship with the men in heaven before he created the world. He does not need to create the world to experience fellowship. So why does he chose to create the world in which many of the people of the world end up in suffering?

Response: Yes, indeed God is omniscient and omnipresent, but I don't see how that means he can in actuality experience something that has never happened. He has the power to make it happen and he did! He didn't want it to happen only "in his mind", he wanted actual fellowship.

AlexxcjRO wrote: You also might say that a being must have freewill to be happy.

Response: You wrote: "A perfect and omnipotent God who creates beings capable of ruining their own happiness is impossible." -- The statement contradicts itself: if God is omnipotent he could create whatever he wants -- You could argue that he wouldn't do this . . .

Your discussion of freewill and the options for God to do is well thought out! Angels are usually thought of as not having free will - but this is debatable because it seems Satan "chose" to disobey and put himself above God. There is an intriguing phrase at the end of I Peter 1:12: "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into." It seems that man and the gospel message of redemption and salvation is something special - angels are intrigued by it!

So, I think that however God chose here He chose the best plan: He gave man freewill to choose or reject Him. Has it caused pain, sorrow, and suffering? Yes, lots of it! But God knew all that, and yet went ahead with His plan. It has caused God Himself much sorrow and pain (even the death of His own Son), but in the end our fellowship with God for all eternity will be worth the cost!

God does not just stand back uninvolved in the suffering of the world. Nor do I intend to stand back uninvolved in the suffering and pain of this world. For myself, I choose to be a soldier in God's army to take and proclaim the message of His grace and salvation to all of the world. If it means my martyrdom, so be it! But I will not stand by idly!

Is it possible some parents might kill their children to send them to heaven? I suppose this could happen, but it would seem a parent would have to be quite deranged to do such a thing! You said I said "that is ok for God to kill small children, so somehow you (I) condone it." I wouldn't say it is "OK" for God to kill children. I have been trying to explain how and why this does happen. (see other posts)

AlexxcjRO: I am not sure I answered everything you asked: Let me know if I missed something critical - and keep asking more - I will keep trying to answer if I can. A question for you: You said you had believed 10 years ago - What is it that caused you to not believe? You have obviously been asking deep questions, but are there other factors that caused you to leave Christ and the church? Or, maybe you never did attend church, or maybe you still do?
