I have a few qustions hope some one cares to answer. I am struggiling to seperate if I am looking to God for answers or just out of fear.... I was brought up in the church on and off all my life the kind of church that controls its members out of fear not compastion ex if you cut your hair wear makeup cuse dont pray enough ext.. you are going to hell no exeption then the paster turns around and is haveing sex with any women he wanted "God told him too" what a line of BS anyway being taught to fear not love god is makeing it really hard for me to figure out where im coming from

The qustion for me is if I try and have a realationship with god now I am really not sure if it is out of fear of "the end" or because i want to and if it is fear based is it just a waste of my time and Gods time or does it not matter why I am looking to God

I have found it really hard to have a real connection with God when in the past I have tried I have been shunned or told unless i am not a "PERFECT" christen no matter how hard I try its a waste of my time and I will go to hell. If thats true why bother I have a real hard time surrendering to a hateful god who would not look at my heart rather then just actions

Now please dont get me wrong I dont think its right to do as you please and expect to go to heaven however I dont think fear should be a motive
any insite would be great

Fear indeed should not be the motive. My motive to become a christian is because I wanted to know Jesus in a relationship. Before that I heard of God, heaven and hell...but not so much about the person Jesus. When I heard about Him and who He really was I was excited about this God. Anyway in the bible the fear of God is not so much going down under your own fear, thinking you will go to hell. It's about having awe for God, knowing that He is an almighty (loving) God and that He has the power to create and to destroy. But His children, who chose for Jesus, are save in Him and there is no condemnation for them (romans 8:1). The whole gospel is about Jesus Christ and His salvation. It is not about how hard you work for God. Works for God is a fruit of a living relationship with Him and not so much a thing to do so "God would love you then". Nobody can keep the Torah the bible says and it even tells us that the law does not save us they are works, but not works for salvation. Salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ. When we get to know Jesus more and the Holy Spirit lives in us we do not longer want to sin or do bad things. God changes us. And I know this for a fact, because it happened to me. I have been in positions where I would think I sinned soooo bad, but everytime I repented for God and He forgave me and picked me up again.

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

You see it is true the Spirit of God we live, not so much what we do all the time. Those things follow when we search for God.

Have a lovely day!

Well if you break out in sweat I moreover guess that is the enemy not wanting you to know Gods word. God want to know you and have a relationship with you. If you have problems with reading the bible, just ask God to help you out with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the bible does not seem to make sence, only the Holy Spirit can show us the truth. I therefore recommend you to go to a church where there is preaching about the Holy Spirit so you will know more about what the Holy Spirit can do in your life. You must never rely on yourself, because you wil indeed never be perfect as the same for me. We should start walking with God, praying try to understand His Word and follow it, BUT through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Maybe I should look some stuff up about the Holy Spirit for you and what importance He makes in our life. He is the comforter God sended after Jesus went up to heaven. He is the one who gives us the power to know the word, drive out demons and speak in tongues. He is the one who helps us to walk in Gods will. And God sees us as children. When Jesus died and rose from the dead he saw a woman (I think mary) and said to her in John 20:17 -> 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

When Jesus died for us He made restoration in the relationship with the Father and us. Now we are no longer sinners but sons and daugthers of God (which was our purpose all along). A father disciplines a child, that is true. But discipline from a good father does not include ignoring you and letting you break out in sweat so you won't know the bible. That would be childish and God is not that way, if He sees something is wrong with you then He will tell you loud and clear and not letting you just roll around in your own mudd. But you need to decide what you want to believe. Are you going for your feelings that say; your not good enough. Or are you going to believe the Word of God? Which says your a child of Adonai (God) when you chose for Jesus and know He is your savior.

Any other questions are welcome, you're in my prayers :)
