it's good to see the truth is still being fought for when it comes to eschatology...
some people are going to be pretty disappointed when satan makes his appearance and they havent been raptured away yet.

Am I wrong for being apathetic about this issue?

Rapture or no rapture, I think that we should always live a life sold out for Christ. If God chooses to have me die or bring me up to heaven before the tribulation then fine, if he wants me to go through hell on earth that's fine too. I personally dont believe in the rapture at all, but I'm not so proud to say I'm completely certain or condemn others- it's not something that threatens your salvation (shocking right). Christ will do what He wants with me and I dont need to have all the answers; I need to keep my eye on Him.

4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, ( ok here it is from the Lord )

that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

So this is saying when Jesus comes on 777, we that are still alive, WILL BE KILLED AS THE ONES ALREADY GONE. and this is not a rapture,
(BUT A RESURRECTION.)
I have asked before and did not receive a response, but I'll try again. How does "shall not prevent them which are asleep" translate into "WILL BE KILLED AS THE ONES ALREADY GONE"? Where are you getting that interpretation? I am seeing you repeat word for word what you have said before, but can you explain it?

There is no linguistic reason to interpret it in this way. The word prevent is a archaic way of saying precede. Thus, the dead in Christ will rise first and then those who are living to meet Him in the air.

When people ask me about "end times" it always reminds me of Yeshua and the woman at the well... it is the greates scripture... she taled about "we worship on this mountain... the Jews on that mountain".... and so on but Yeshua kept bringing her around to her relationsip with Him.... every question He brought it back too knowing Him she finally got "it" and said come I have meant the Messiah.... people today do the same thing and it's not what about the rapture... will I be here... proably not!!! If I am and it happens ... I GO HOME..... if I have to dye for Yeshua ... I GO HOME!!!!!!!! The question is are you ready to meet Yeshua??????

Ye must be Born Again! Flesh is Flesh, no Flesh and Blood shall see the Kingdom! we must be changed into our Spirital Bodys, When we as Christains died , we become a BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN
On 777 those who are here on earth in the flesh, will be killed by the sun. Rev 16:8

We then will meet Jesus in the Clouds in our Spirit Bodys,

we Christains will become Reborn Christains

Then we will be brought back down to Earth.

to our Fathers Kingdom, Heaven right here on earth!!!!!!!

Well said!

To me it is not important for me to know when" it will happen; rather it is more important that I not be found lacking. I have just read all of these posts and I have seen evidence given for all viewpoints. This has been debated by far greater scholars than me and there is still no consensus. We are told in Matthew 24:36-37; " 36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." If Jesus Himself does not know then I am not going to waste my time trying to figure it out. I prefer to be doiung what God has called me to do per Matthew 24:44 "44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

I must add that I have also read some vitriolic posts in this thread in attempts to defend one view over another. I think our time would be better spent encouraging our brothers and sisters to hold to that which is known to be true and good while contending for the faith. Be aware of the caution of Matthew 24:48-51; "48But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,' 49and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

In Christ,
John

Rapture? You better believe it! Witnessed by 100's, the two angels who escorted JESUS upward into the clouds said to those watching.."What? know ye not that this same Man will return in like manner? Of course JESUS will..that is our hope! Rapture is actually the point when GOD will look over at HIS SON, JESUS, and say "SON, go get your BRIDE...this is your wedding DAY!" The Bride, of course, being those who are following CHRIST ( the CHURCH), not just one denomination, but those who have a relationship with JESUS personally. I cannot imagine living a full CHRISTIAN life without the possibility of my Savior not returning for me "in the Twinkling of an eye". IF GOD's own angels do not know the very hour..how would you expect us humans to predict it? We are told that JESUS will return like a thief in the night..we have to be ready, our wicks and our candles ready as the 10 virgins who are seeking their Grooms to come for them.

They will unwittingly worship him and when Christ does come thats when the gnashing of teeth shall occur. OH the great shame, they shall hide themselves.

1.) what exactly are you trying to imply?... that someone cannot live the Christian life without believing in pre-tribulation?... if that's the statement you're making, then you have a VERY narrow-minded view of what Christianity is about.

2.) you took 1 Corinthians 15:52 completely out of context... "...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump..." this twinkling of an eye happens only at the last trump. Not the first, or second, or third... the last trump.

3.) 2 Peter 3:10 says the Day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night... it ALSO says that the elements will burn away with fervent heat on that day, too... most definitely not a quiet or secret day there... 1 Thess. 4:2 says the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night"... however v. 4 tells us "but you, bretheren, are not in darkness, for that day to surprise you like a thief"... and lest we forget Mark 13:37 "what I say to you I say unto all, stay awake"... if we were to be in darkness concerning this day, he would never tell us to stay awake, and he would not of told us the general time either

why worry about this? this isn't an essential doctrine of Christianity ( unless you say Christ isn't coming back) the rapture teaching has nothing to do with getting down on your knees and professing christ as lord so dont worry about it. focus more on living a christ centered life

tell that to militant pre-tribbers... apparently to them, anything other than pre-trib makes you a non-believer

Hmm...

I believe as strongly as you do that pretribulationism is a serious eschatological error and belief in false doctrine is not without consequence, but in my many years of debating pretribbers I've never heard them say they believe non-pretribbers are non-believers. It's a human tendency to so strongly endorse our beliefs that we mischaracterize our opponants' beliefs. It's a tendency we ought to be on guard against.

And I hope you will likewise caution me if I step out of line.
