At 2 Timothy 2:15-18 the Apostle Paul states the following. "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth. Vs16, but avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, vs17, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus. Vs18, men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and thus they upset the faith of some."

It should be noted that the Apostle Paul also mentions "Hymenaeus" at 1 Timothy 1:19-20 causing problems while addressing Timothy, vs19, "keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. Vs20, Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered over to Satan, so that they may be taught not to blaspheme."

One more reference from the Apostle Paul at 2 Thessalonians 1:6-7, "For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, vs7, and to give "rest/relief" to you who are afflicted and to us as well "WHEN" the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire."

My question is simple, are these verses referring to the "Rapture of the Church or to the Resurrection?

To both. The rapture and resurrection of the church are one and the same:

MATTHEW 24:29-31 (Jesus)
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken;
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

MARK 13:24-27 (Jesus)
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 Then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:15-18 (Paul)
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain to the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: so shall we ever be with the Lord.

These verses show that the Lord Jesus will return with His angels, first to raise the dead, and for His angels to gather the rest of those who are alive and remain.

The first quote in 2 Tim refers to the rapture, the second quote in 1 Tim doesn't seem to refer to either, and the thrid quote in 2 Thes refers to the 2nd comming. The rapture and the resurrection occur at the same instant, referring to when we enter into our redemption and mortality puts on immortality and curruption puts in incorruptibility, forevermore!

Verse 7 states [states, as fact],

"ye who are troubled, REST WITH US *IN THE REVELATION OF* the Lord Jesus from heaven WITH HIS *MIGHTY* angels [think: 7 TRUMPETS... 7 VIALS...], [8] IN FLAMING FIRE [see Lam2:3] INFLICTING VENGEANCE ON them [SAME PERSONS--SAME TIME-PERIOD as that of 2Th2:10-12! (i.e. during A SPANS OF TIME!)] that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ..."

(it is THOSE people ^ who, at the [SUBSEQUENT point in time] Second Coming TO THE EARTH, [9] "SHALL BE [future-tense, from that of the above verses]" punished with everlasting destruction [away-]FROM the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power, "WHEN"...
(i.e. they will NOT be granted permission to ENTER the MK age [commencing upon His "RETURN" to the earth]; but will INSTEAD be among those "SLAIN" at that point--His Second Coming TO THE EARTH, *FOR* the promised and prophesied EARTHLY Millennial Kingdom age).
Their punishment is "everlasting" (there is NO reversal after "DEATH").

In view of this (and more), I do not find your "question" to be coherent. = )

to the very present of each person's life forever in Father and Son as Won (One) for us
Be wise as a serpent, yet remain harmless as a dove, accept the mysteries of God in your present life daily in continued trust to God to work it all out in you. That begins on the very first day anyone sincerely believes God to see the whole truth in the acceptance given through risen Son for us to be new and stand new, given new life in God's Spirit and truth
Thanking God for it all, even the adversities I have and go through in God's mysterious ways, not seeing the true purposes at first, God Father knows best for me to rest, thanks, for us all y'all
