Hello all, I'm reaching out to all of you during a dark time in my life to share thoughts, prayers, strength, and courage. Yesterday I said goodbye to my beautiful wife of a little over 15 years. She passed away last Wednesday afternoon...can't say it was totally unexpected but we all thought we would have more time. The evening of the day she passed away, I hung on the brink of going over the edge. We have four children, we were away from family...I had no idea what to do. I finally prayed that night; deeper, more fervently than I had in years. I felt His hand in a way that hadn't happened since I first accepted Him. He has been walking beside me or carrying me through the last several days, revealing things I needed to know, giving me strength to meet the challenges. I am truly humbled and amazed. Many of you will understand what I mean, to others it will be mystical mumbo-jumbo, and to others it'll just be one of those things Christians say to each other in troubled times. I tell you now and testify that I have been blessed, friends and family around me have been blessed, rifts have been healed, relationships renewed, and best, best of all, the remarkable and amazing woman I was married to for so many years was revealed to inspire and touch others. Her life was given meaning in death. Now I'm lead here, to this forum, but I don't know why. The reason I thought I came no longer seems important, so now I'm waiting to see what is revealed.

God is the ultimate comforter.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Psalm 71:20-21
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

I'm praying for you and your family.

Walt, your selection of scripture is perfect and fits with what the spirit is revealing. While the pain is still fresh and real, I see blessings and comfort flowing not only to my family and friends, but even to strangers. God Bless you Walt.

Dearest SeekSolace,

I have lost two very dear people in my life. First, my step-father, from cancer...I remember my mother feeling so alone and lost the days following his death, even though she was never alone and always surrounded by our family. Nothing we would say could ease her pain...she had to go through her own sorrow and feel consumed by it, to eventually and slowly heal from the deep pain my dad's death caused. Although I have never lost a spouse to death, I can only imagine how you are feeling. You are not alone. If you ever need to talk, please type me.
The second time I suffered a death was when I lost my baby son. The pain was incredible, but God gave me the blessing of allowing me to carry my son for those precious five and a half months. I don't know why we must lose those we love. Maybe to grow spiritually from the pain we endure...I'm not sure why I'm sharing this with you...I should try to be making you smile, but for some reason, this is what I thought would help you...so I'm going to post it. Again, if you ever want to talk, type me...I'll pray for you and for your family.

God Bless you! And let it be of comfort to you that she is now with our Savior, and there's no better place to be.

Sincerely,

Ingrid
