Don't get me wrong, please. I love to support and encourage people. I truly do. <3 Life is rough and sometimes it does seem like some folks can't catch a break. BUT....there are thousands of homeless/hungry people in the world, people are being treated like animals/sold as slaves, young boys are being taken from their families to fight wars that have more to do with drugs/money than anything else, christians are being martyred. So, sometimes...just..sometimes...when I'm around someone who continuously whines about....eeeeeeeeevvvvvveeeeeeeerrry....little...thing.... I just want to scream REEEEEEALLY??????!!!!! RUB SOME DIRT ON IT AND GET OVER YOURSELF ALREADY!!! Gain a little perspective and wisdom....

We can sit around and whine about our circumstances or we can stand up, take our eyes off of ourselves and look around and see how WE might make this life better for others. Somewhere in that process, our little bumps and bruises fade away.

Okay....I feel so much better now. *adjusts clothing, smoothes hair, reapplies a little lipgloss and moves on*

Carry on :) And God bless you! ;)

When someone brings the wine, you bring the cheese, and have a party :P

LOL! Thanks guys. I think my REDS ball cap might be a lil tight today ;) Or...maybe it's these pantyhose...

I really have a hard time dealing with the constant barrage of things that CONSTANTLY is in my path in my life. I have grown very weary, and drained.

There is a new song out by Laura Story called Blessings. I heard her interviewed on the radio talking about her song writing and how she comes up with the inspiration for her songs. She said that she basically journals about life and situations and before she knows it, it's as if God has just handed her a song through the pen and paper.

About 5 years ago, her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had surgery done, and although it improved some parts of the diagnosis, other parts of the quality of his life will never be the same.

Out of journaling of this experience that has been going on for 5 years, the song *Blessings* was born.

I was driving, taking my kids to school when I heard it for the first time. (Before I knew what inspired it)...and I had to literally remind myself to breath. I felt God hug my soul through the words of that song.
Then when I heard the story behind it....I made me think on my life, and all that I go through, and that things could always be worse.

I am truly blessed beyond what I deserve, and I am trying to reflect on the words of the song daily to help me keep perspective and to not complain or whine in the weariness of my circumstances.

(I almost always sign my posts, emails etc with the ending of *Blessings*....such a meaningful and possitive word. Soooo much more meaning for me now!)

Blessings!

I hear you. Living in America it is very easy to become self-absorbed with our own problems and never look around and see just how blessed we really are. The media 'protects' us from seeing any ugliness in the world (dead bodies, abuses, widespread famine, illness, etc..etc..). Everything is sterilized for america's viewing. The few rare times that things are not sterilized, the effect soon wares off because its dismissed as an anomoly. Then they go back to focusing on Snookie's latest adventures and what Lindsay Lohan did wrong now. So I think I understand where you're coming from.

I dunno. I think my problems are clearly the biggest... I deserve to whine.

;-)

I think that whining is a sign of a weak mind. If we focus more on the way our life is suppose to be instead of having pity parties we wouldn't have to whine. It is normal to complain about things, but when you let those things take control of your mind it is a problem. If we realize that it is part of normal life to have problems and obstacles then there is no reason to whine :) In closing, I would like to leave you with some of the most brilliant words I have ever heard......"Nip it in the bud." -Barney Fife

One more thing. I just thought of another quote....."Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it." -Raeshelle

LOL@ the wisdom of Fife! Awesome! haha

I do agree that God cares about our problems. His eye is on the sparrow after all. But I also think He expects us to trust Him with them and not wallow in them. We all have everyday cares, some greater/lesser than others, but scripture promises that they will never be more than we can bear. And sometimes we allow ourselves to bear more than we're supposed to because we won't let go and allow healing to take place, which allows our joy to be stolen.

Love the Keith Green song btw. Reminds me of another one - That's My Child - Midsouth:

I think it's pleasing to the Lord when we let go of the things satan sends to hurt us, discourage us and wear us out. That's not the life God wants for us.

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

Americans really annoy me sometimes. Yeah, our country might not be the greatest it's ever been, but there's not genocide, dictators, extreme poverty, civil war, terrible natural disasters... the list goes on. We've got it good here and people need to just shut up.
