Sorry. But the law of averages say that a man who is jealous of another man does so with the ultimate goal of a sexual relationship. At least, that will be a part of the equation.
This isn't necessarily a bad thing, nor does it necessarily mean that he is a bad person. Nor does it mean that he could not have loved you in a mature way . . . a way that keeps improving and growing. Therefore, I wouldn't necessarily feel good or bad about it . . . it is what it is.
Being jealous is one thing. Kicking me out in the middle of the night and refusing to even discuss the event is another.
Yep, he was far too ashamed to tell you the truth of how he felt about you. It's really sad that we act this way; this is why it is so important for us to be confident, for it is through our weaknesses and insecurities that cause us to lash out at others when they don't meet our expectations.
Again, I'm sorry that these things happened to you. This is Satan's world . . . for sure!
He also told me a condition of living with him was that I couldn't even want a boyfriend.
His reasoning for kicking me out was 'you lied because you said you weren't interested in a relationship with a man'.
Brutal. Isn't it amazing how a man can say that he's just head-over-heels for you but then treats you like garbage?! I can see his being crushed and wounded, but to become angry and abusive is not what any woman needs. I know, for I was once like this.
Food for thought: If our weaknesses and insecurities cause us to harm others . . . do we even have the right to be weak and insecure? I would say that the answer is unequivocally . . . NO!
We are, however, obligated to grow up and mature, and it sounds like your friend has much, much work to do. I'm glad that you are no longer as close to him. No one needs such nightmares.
