Humanity leans towards wickedness, as most of us see in the news every day. The wickedness that goes beyond the murderous plight of evil tyrants but lays within the hearts of us all. A wickedness where every man or woman has at some point given into the pride, greed, malice, deceitfulness, jealousy, lust without constraint, selfishness, etc., of the heart.
We must understand why morality and freedom of religion must be protected and supported. It is absolutely critical elements to good democracy. If these are not in place, then trying to gain democracy any other way will only collapse right back into tyranny or chaos.
Entropy is a measure of disorder. The Second Law of Thermodynamics says that all closed systems like our Universe held within the dimensions of space will maximize entropy.
Murphy's Law states, "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."
It takes energy to try and contain the disorder, but energy used in one place will ultimately still be lost in another.
If our passions are left unbridled, it will lead to chaos. Chaos invites outside control or government control. Evil governments love to create chaos in order to promote more control.
Religious liberty allows the freedom of conscience and freedom of speech. These are very important for good democracy. If any system tries to violate these rights, they have violated the rights of others and are only promoters of disorder or chaos.
It takes tremendous energy to combat the ails of disorder. We as a society have created 1000s of laws within our local, state, and federal governments. Our prison system holds the title of highest incarceration in the world. Millions of dollars are spent to combat disorder, where if we had a system that promoted the morality to harness the wickedness within us all, we would see order not from without but within.
By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime. -Benjamin Rush
