Anyone who is now a follower of Christ, should remember that they once were a slave. They were lead by Satan, and they had part in offending many people away from Jesus. Now one person on this earth can say they were never a slave, they would be lying.
Remember, that you too followed the fads of this world, on that wide sure road to hell. And remember the grace of God, that let you see your wickedness. The Lord has tried men, and found them all in need of mercy. So who did Jesus die for? FOR SINNERS!!! That means you and I were slaves of sin.
Sometimes you cannot snatch the chains off of a sin. And sometimes we feel we can be too passive without addressing the sin. There is a balance. And this balance is demonstrated in Jesus. He not only spoke words, but he backed his words with power.
We had our part in the scheme of Satan. But Jesus came in and changed us. He saved us from delusion, not to continue in it again.
You are free now, not to continue in sin, neither to condemns sinners, but tp preach the gospel, freedom from sin and death, to serve a living loving, merciful God through Jesus Christ.
It should not be so amazing that people will reject it though. Jesus was perfect in every way, and they hated him without cause. They praised him into Jerusalem, but hung him from a tree.
You were once a slave. And your bondage was of Satan. He had you in those same chains. Remember your former self so that you can remember the bondage. It was truly bondage. It was a false sense of salvation.
If the slave will not be freed by the only one who can free him, then what will they do when someone promises them a false peace, and they find that that peace is more bondage. A wicked man can only promise false peace.
Remember. You once were a slave!!
May Jesus bless you.
