I suggest that the Pops default either be removed or unmarked so that you have to turn them ON instead of turning them off.

Personally I like the "pops"!!! ...hahaha.....but I wouldn't object to having them needing to be turned on if you want them, instead of the other way around, or just on without a choice......as long as they are not OFF without a choice!!!! haha!!

Kill those pops....especially when someone is on the mic and u can hear the POP feedback on their compy

Public message alerts are now off by default, for logged in registered users. (You can turn it back on in the Settings tab if you want it on.)
But I set it to stay on by default for guests (I mean if you're just lurking as a guest on the front page, you'll hear the public message alerts by default.)
As for private message alerts, I left that on by default (for both guests and logged in registered users).
Done.
