Isaiah 65
“I was sought by those who did not ask for Me;

I was found by those who did not seek Me.
I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’
To a nation that was not called by My name.....
For the Lord God will slay you, And call His servants by another name;

I would offer that theology was not replaced as in replacement theology it was reformed. Its I believe why it was called a reformation.

The same to those who say the church does not replace Israel putting a some hope in their Jewish flesh as if there was two brides.

Christian is simply the new name he promised to name His people. Just the name he named them Israel in the Old testament , the other side of the 1st century reformation.

Reformations restore the order to another time period, not replace it. From my experience its just ignored today because it would seem some don't know what to do with the outward Jews seeing because of the reformation God is not using any people that way anymore as types and shadows used in parables.

For the outward unconverted Jews that had a hope in their own flesh, it was the beginning of time for Jacobs trouble. It marked the beginning of the last days, indicated by the renting the veil . The old order was a figure used as parable. The word figure in Hebrews is "parabole" in the Greek, our word "parable" .

The kingdom of God is not of this world of corruption, never was, never will be.And is the reason why I believe we must walk by faith and not be sight. He used the Jews outwardly as a living parable in that sense. in respect to the eternal land called the married land. Which speaks of the new heavenly Jerusalem prepared as His pride made up of all the kingdoms of as nations of the world.

One of the things that I believe the Spirit of Christ teaches us in order to understand how to hear the spiritual meaning in parable. When looking at the outward temporal things that concern ceremonial law as shadows of the good things to come. The new heaven and earth.

By parables and through parables was the way God designed something what I would call his perfect form of communing with the creature, as the same spirit of faith, according as it is written .You could say his voice signature.Without parables Christ spoke not.

Some would teach a literal interpretation, as in first sense makes the sense. It apposes the need for parables.again i would offer as Gods' signature he has spoke . those who were not given the understanding waled away in unbelief.(no faith)

2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The things seen are everything used in a ceremonial law(that seen) point ahead the demonstration a suffering savoir before hand . On this side of the reformation we look back, it was about God's timing .

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:Which was a figure for the "time" then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, "imposed on them" until the "time" of reformation.Heb 9:8

If you read the Bible as a whole, you see the pattern of the world drifting farther and farther away from God, until He calls them back. First by the flood, then Moses leading people from Eygpt, etc...

It has always been God's desire to walk amongst humanity as He did in the garden of Eden.

I venture to say the reformation spoken of in Hebrews refers to moving from a time when people approached God through priests and earthly mediators to the New Covenant...when the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts and all men and women may pray and approach the throne because of Christ sacrifice for us.

****never heard it referred to as reformation before.

What version of the Bible are you quoting from?

My seminary prof used to say, "There is no Plan B for the Jews."

In other words, we are all saved by grace through faith!

"Through faith." This is why I believe Jews do not have salvation. How can anyone who denies Jesus have salvation? It boggles what little mind I have left.

How do you guys understand this verse?

Romans 9:8 KJV
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Zone, this is a serious question... How does all this replacement stuff fit inline with Gen 17:19-21?
He made 2 covenants then so I don't see where one is being replaced..

What about this one where Paul is talking to Galatian gentiles? Paul includes himself along with the gentiles as the children of promise?

Galatians 4:28 KJV
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

It is not the covenants being replaced.

The claim of replacement theology is that the Israelites were replaced by the Church.

Thanks for the reply.

The King James all versions use the world reformation.

Makes a good study adventure .As I mentioned the word reformationas to how it is used seems to have lost its usefulness.

It has something to do with how we view a Jew as to the purpose they were used for. He was not changing or replacing one religion with another, or one nation for another. But clearly reforming it to another time period when there was no outward representation. I would suggest to the period of Judges when God reigned from heaven as King. The apostate Jews in there jealousy demands they have an outward representation like all the Pagan religions of the world. He told Samuel the Judge its not you that they after rejecting as their king but I who they do not want rgfining over them by faith(the unseen) .

He gave them over to do that which they should not of,sending a strong delusion so they could believe the lie. Performing it (an outward representation) for a temporal time period, which I believe pointed the time of reformation.
.
It’s what reformations do... restore to another time period.

Then why does she refer to them in posts? slaves and free? I can't follow BC I don't see it

Luke 1
Mary's Song
…54He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful, 55as He promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his descendants forever.” 56Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.…

Galatians 3:16
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, "and to seeds," meaning many, but "and to your seed," meaning One, who is Christ.

God gave the covenant to Abraham to walk with him.

This is the Covenant of faith. Abraham, and those of faith had to obey God.

When the Israelites came out of Egypt they did not obey God, e.g. the Sabbath test,

So God imposed a new Covenant, the Mosaic covenant, with the Law.

The Jews got hung up on the Law, and wanted to stay under it, but the idea was that Jesus was the promise of the Abrahamic covenant, and the Mosaic Covenant was finished, like a booster on a space trip, it had served its purpose and needed to be discarded.

So those who are free are under the Abrahamic Covenant of walking with God, and the slaves are those who want to hang on to the Law.

Got it! OK

try starting with Galatians 1 and read through 4 - paul takes the physical to allegorize the spiritual.
he ends up saying that unbelieving jews of his day were like hagar - slaves to the Law (first covenant).
he says that Christians, like Isaac, were (and are) persecuted by the unbelieving jews.

ppl don't realize how severe and serious the persecution at the hands of the jews was (as well as at the hands of the gentiles).

Gal 3
Sons Through Faith in Christ

26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 4
Galatians 4 BSB < read all of it. you will see it.

That was always the case though. Are you saying they were just a fill in of sorts?

The one seed (spiritual )there it is of Christ, the Holy Spirit of God who does the anointing as His teaching method, performing it without the use of human hands . The children of the promise (new creatures) are counted as being under His spiritual seed,Christ) and not seeds, many, that pertain to the flesh

I actually was just in Galatians in my own reading time.. I see what your saying.. sometimes I'm late to the party.

no! they were saved by faith, whether before the Cross and most certainly after.

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Acts 3:26
When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways." << to the jews first.

1 Corinthians 1:24
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

He always said He would take people from every tribe and nation. gentiles and jews.
