I understand the dispensational sequence you’re outlining — national regathering, unbelief, Tribulation, national repentance, the return of Christ, cleansing, reunification, and the realization of covenant promises in the Millennial Kingdom — and I agree that this is how Walvoord, Fruchtenbaum, and classic dispensationalists integrate Ezekiel 36–48 into their eschatological model.
But my commitment is to the text itself, not to the coherence of the system, and the question I must ask is whether Ezekiel 37 requires that larger framework or whether the framework is being read into the text.
Ezekiel 37 does indeed move toward a climactic restoration under “David,” with covenant peace, cleansing, reunification, and God’s sanctuary among them forever — but the text does not specify the mechanics, chronology, or intermediate stages that dispensationalism supplies.
The regathering, the unbelief, the Tribulation, the national turning, and the Millennial Kingdom are all interpretive inferences, not explicit statements of Ezekiel’s oracle.
So while the dispensational sequence is one possible way to integrate Ezekiel 36–48 into a broader eschatology, the text itself does not demand that sequence, and it does not identify any modern event — including 1948 — as the beginning of that prophetic movement.
My task is to let Ezekiel speak on his own terms, and Ezekiel’s terms are restoration, cleansing, reunification, Davidic rule, and divine presence — not the detailed timeline supplied by later theological systems.
The regathering, the unbelief, the Tribulation, the national turning, and the Millennial Kingdom are all interpretive inferences, not explicit statements of Ezekiel’s oracle.

Well then, this is where wisdom and the art of rightly dividing the truth of Biblical prophecy come to the fore.

Nobody said that this was supposed to be easy.....😉

When I say that the regathering, unbelief, Tribulation, national turning, and Millennial Kingdom are interpretive inferences rather than explicit statements of Ezekiel’s oracle, I’m not denying that these themes could be part of a larger prophetic pattern.
I’m saying that Ezekiel himself does not state that pattern.
Ezekiel 37 gives me restoration, reunification, cleansing, Davidic rule, covenant peace, and God’s sanctuary among them forever — but it does not give me a chronological gap, a Tribulation period, a national conversion sequence, or a Millennial timeline.
Those elements come from systematic synthesis, not from Ezekiel’s own words.
And this is where wisdom comes in:
Rightly dividing prophecy means knowing the difference between textual content and theological construction.

I agree entirely with your caution: it is one thing to say that 1948 resembles biblical restoration themes, and another thing to claim that Ezekiel 37, Isaiah 66, or Jesus’ fig‑tree illustration are being fulfilled in the modern State of Israel. As a student of the text alone, I cannot make that leap without exegetical warrant. Ezekiel 37 interprets its own imagery — the dry bones represent the whole house of Israel in exile — and the chapter’s restoration sequence includes reunification, cleansing, Davidic rule, covenant peace, and God’s sanctuary dwelling among them forever. None of that has occurred in 1948 or afterward. Isaiah 66:8 speaks of Zion’s eschatological birth, not a secular nation‑state, and Jesus’ fig‑tree parable in Matthew 24 is a general illustration about recognizing signs, not an explicit prophecy about modern Israel. So while I can acknowledge 1948 as historically remarkable and possibly providential, I cannot treat it as a decisive fulfillment of these prophetic texts. The burden of proof remains on anyone claiming fulfillment, and so far the textual and historical arguments have not been answered.

Romans 11 puts that all to rest. The 70ad idea might have had some traction until 1948. That started God's prophetic time clock. Several prophecies were fulfilled when 1948 happened.

When I read Romans 11, I do not see Paul giving a prophetic timestamp that restarts in 1948; I see him explaining the mystery of Israel’s hardening and future mercy in purely theological terms, not geopolitical ones. The modern return of Jews to the land is historically significant, and Christians may see it as providential, but Paul never ties Israel’s eschatological restoration to a modern nation‑state or to a specific political event. His argument is about God’s covenant faithfulness, not about a prophetic clock paused in AD 70 and restarted in 1948. The idea that 1948 “put all debate to rest” is an interpretive inference, not a textual assertion, because Romans 11 speaks of Israel’s future turning to Christ, not of national sovereignty, borders, or statehood. So while 1948 may fit into some eschatological frameworks, it is not the exegetical foundation of Paul’s teaching; the foundation is God’s mercy, God’s promises to the patriarchs, and God’s future act of spiritual restoration — not a modern political milestone.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Israel as a nation has 70 weeks, 490 years, to make an end of sins, and anoint the most holy who is Jesus.

So by the end of the 70 weeks Israel as a nation has to accept that Jesus is their Messiah.

But Israel has not done that yet so the 70 weeks could of not been fulfilled.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

69 weeks has passed with 1 more week to go.

So the last week could not have happened in the first century for the 70th week has not been fulfilled yet.

Verse 26 speaks of the prince to come and verse 27 continues talking about the prince to come that he will confirm a covenant for 1 week.

Israel is blinded in part until salvation is no longer available to the Gentiles be come in and then God will turn Israel to the truth.

The last week is when God causes all people that do not love the truth to follow the antichrist and brings Israel to the truth.

Some people think the prince to come was in the first century but it was not.

The Bible says the Roman Empire does not lose their dominion until Jesus puts down the world.

And they shall become 10 horns which is the world divided in to 10 sections with a leader in each section.

Which they shall devour the whole earth, break it in pieces, and tread it down, which is by way of the antichrist's agenda.

Which the little horn, antichrist, shall come from the 10 horns who come from the Roman Empire.

The prince to come comes from the people who overthrew Jerusalem who is the Roman Empire.

The Roman Empire does not lose their dominion until Jesus puts down the world so that is when the prince to come appears.

The antichrist will negotiate peace in the Middle East resulting in a 7 years peace treaty that also affects the world.

The nations governments will come together to work for peace on earth.

The peace treaty will pave the way for all Hebrews to go to Israel for the Gentile nations will see to it and the antichrist wants them all back on their land but God means it for good towards the Hebrews.

The antichrist will push his agenda and religion which interprets all religions according to the occult and paganism that exalts people and there is no personal God.

For the first 3.5 years salvation is still available to the world.

Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

When the world takes the mark of the beast which has to do with technology then salvation is no longer available to the world and the fulness of the Gentiles will have come in.

Then God will send Israel 2 witnesses to turn them to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah for the last 3.5 years.

At the end of that time Israel as a nation will be in the truth and the 70th week fulfilled and they will then see Jesus.

Jesus said the Jews will not see Him again until they acknowledge Him as Messiah.

That means God cannot proceed with His plan of salvation until Israel is in the truth so He has to bring them to the truth.

Eze 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
Eze 39:24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

Eze 39:25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
Eze 39:26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
Eze 39:27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Eze 39:28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Some people say this is talking about the Babylonian captivity but it is not.

God said He is going to bring the whole house of Israel all 12 tribes back to their land and leave none of them in the nations anymore.

If this was the Babylonian captivity then none of the Hebrews would ever be in the nations anymore but they are in other nations.

Also God said that they will know He is the LORD their God from that day and forward and He will never hide His face from them again which they will always be in the truth.

If this was the Babylonian captivity then Israel would always be in the truth from that time forward when they returned.

But they are not in the truth to this day.

So this is not the Babylonian captivity but in the future.

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

When I look at the entire prophetic structure you’ve laid out—from Daniel 9 to Matthew 23, Romans 11, Revelation 11, and Ezekiel 39—I see a sincere attempt to harmonize Israel’s future with a literal, futurist reading of the 70th week, but I cannot affirm the idea that 1948 restarted a prophetic clock or that Daniel’s 70th week is a suspended national countdown awaiting a modern peace treaty. Daniel 9:24–27 gives a tightly defined set of covenantal goals, but it does not say Israel must nationally accept Jesus within a 490‑year window, nor does it say the final week must be future; that conclusion is an inference built on a particular eschatological system, not on the text itself. Likewise, Romans 11 speaks of Israel’s future mercy, but it does not tie that mercy to geopolitical events, a revived Roman Empire, or a seven‑year treaty; Paul’s focus is on unbelief, grafting, covenant faithfulness, and the eventual turning of Israel to the Messiah, not on a political timeline. Ezekiel 39 does promise a future restoration, but it is theological—God revealing Himself, cleansing His people, and restoring them—not a detailed geopolitical scenario involving ten global regions or a modern antichrist negotiating Middle‑East peace. I respect your diligence in searching the Scriptures daily, but as a scriptural theologian I must keep the distinction clear: the text gives promises, patterns, and prophetic trajectories, while the detailed sequencing you’ve described belongs to a particular interpretive framework, not to the explicit statements of Scripture itself.

When I read Romans 11, I do not see Paul giving a prophetic timestamp that restarts in 1948;

No and I didn't say Romans 11 did. But 48 did restart prophesy. More fulfill than restart.

I see him explaining the mystery of Israel’s hardening and future mercy in purely theological terms, not geopolitical ones.

Sure, don't let me stop you. That's great. But the bottom line here is that RT is dangerous and it is flaring up again in churches around the world. So we can talk theology and there's a place for that. But when RT starts flaring up, so does Jew hate. Because, once again, RT led to the Holocaust. That is why the Catholic church repented of that teaching.

The modern return of Jews to the land is historically significant, and Christians may see it as providential, but Paul never ties Israel’s eschatological restoration to a modern nation‑state or to a specific political event.

No he doesn't. But the Bible said that they would be returned to their own land. That has happened and is still happening. Without 1948 it couldn't happen.

No, I didn't say Romans 11 took care of that. We know that God sent them out among nations and that He promised to bring them back from where they were scattered. Romans 11 says they can and will be restored and that place will be Israel.

So while 1948 may fit into some eschatological frameworks, it is not the exegetical foundation of Paul’s teaching; the foundation is God’s mercy, God’s promises to the patriarchs, and God’s future act of spiritual restoration — not a modern political milestone.

No 48 fulfills the prophesy of God beginning to restore them to the land. The nation built in a day, the dry bones coming together. They will have a spiritual restoration, but also a physical one. That is why 48 is so significant. God is keeping His promises.

I will address these one by one😊

No and I didn't say Romans 11 did. But 48 did restart prophesy. More fulfill than restart
I cannot treat it as the moment when God “restarted” Daniel’s prophetic clock, because Daniel 9 never says the seventy weeks pause, never says they restart, and never ties their fulfillment to a modern political restoration; what 1948 does represent is a providential regathering that aligns with broad prophetic patterns, not the explicit mechanism of Daniel’s timeline. The seventy weeks are covenantal, not geopolitical; they concern transgression, atonement, righteousness, and the anointing of the Most Holy, all of which were fulfilled in Christ, not in a modern state. Romans 11 does promise a future turning of Israel, but Paul grounds that in God’s mercy and covenant faithfulness, not in the establishment of a nation‑state. So while 1948 may “fit” certain eschatological frameworks and may indeed feel like a prophetic acceleration, it is more accurate to say it illustrates prophetic themes rather than fulfills Daniel’s clock. If you want, I can walk through how Daniel 9’s structure actually works in its original context using Daniel_9_structure or compare it with Paul’s argument in Romans_11.

When I look at the long, painful history of replacement theology, I cannot treat it as a harmless interpretive mistake, because every time the church has embraced the idea that God has rejected Israel and replaced her with the church, it has produced not only bad exegesis but a spiritual posture that inevitably hardens into contempt toward the Jewish people. The pattern is tragically consistent: theological displacement leads to social displacement, social displacement leads to political hostility, and political hostility eventually erupts into violence. That is why I say RT is dangerous—not because I am defending a system, but because history shows that whenever Christians begin speaking as though Israel has no continuing place in God’s redemptive plan, Jew‑hatred soon follows. The Holocaust was not caused by RT alone, but RT created the theological soil in which centuries of anti‑Jewish sentiment grew, and the Catholic Church’s formal repudiation of supersessionism was an acknowledgment of that fact. So yes, when RT flares up, I take it seriously, because it is never merely an academic debate; it is a spiritual toxin that has repeatedly manifested in real human suffering.

I absolutely acknowledge that Scripture anticipated a regathering, and without 1948 that regathering could not have taken the form we now see; but I still distinguish between prophetic patterns and explicit prophetic fulfillments, because the biblical text never says that Daniel’s seventy weeks pause, restart, or hinge on the establishment of a modern nation‑state. What 1948 represents to me is a providential alignment with passages like Ezekiel 36–39 and Deuteronomy 30—a visible, historical return that mirrors the prophetic trajectory of Israel’s restoration—but it is not the mechanism Daniel 9 itself describes, which is covenantal, messianic, and centered on atonement, righteousness, and the anointing of the Most Holy. So yes, the return to the land matters, and yes, it fits the prophetic shape of Israel’s future, but I treat it as a stage‑setting providence, not the restart of a suspended prophetic clock, because the text itself never frames it that way.

God scattered Israel among the nations and also promised to bring them back, and I agree. Romans 11 teaches their future restoration will be in Israel, not in some abstract spiritual space; but I still distinguish between the biblical promise of regathering and the interpretive claim that 1948 is the definitive prophetic trigger, because the text itself never identifies a modern political event as the mechanism of fulfillment. Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Deuteronomy all speak of a return from dispersion, and what we have witnessed since 1948 undeniably aligns with that trajectory, but Paul’s argument in Romans 11 is theological—rooted in covenant, mercy, and God’s faithfulness to the patriarchs—not geopolitical. So yes, the modern return to the land matters, and yes, it fits the prophetic pattern of Israel’s future turning, but I treat it as a providential stage‑setting rather than the explicit fulfillment of Daniel’s timeline, because Scripture itself keeps the focus on God’s covenantal work in Israel’s heart, not on the political mechanics that make their return possible.

I absolutely acknowledge it as a real, concrete fulfillment of the physical regathering promises—not the spiritual restoration, not the covenant renewal, not the national repentance, but the physical component that Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Moses all foresaw: God bringing His people back to their land after scattering them among the nations. The “nation born in a day” language fits the event, the dry bones imagery fits the reanimation of a people long dispersed, and the prophetic trajectory of Israel’s regathering undeniably aligns with what began in 1948. I do not treat 1948 as the restart of Daniel’s seventy‑week clock, because Daniel never frames the timeline that way, but I do treat 1948 as a genuine fulfillment of the land‑return prophecies—a physical restoration that must precede the spiritual one. In other words, 1948 is not the completion of Israel’s restoration, but it is the beginning of the visible, geographical fulfillment that God promised, and it demonstrates that He is keeping His word exactly as He said He would.

Agreed. Well said and nothing to add.

I kind of see it as a difference without a distinction. God made an unconditional promise to Abe and repeated it to the following generations. A land, their land, with borders, a real country. So 48 is part of that fulfillment, part of the promise of regathering in their own land.

God told Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that their descendants would be brought back from all nations into their land, and 1948 is undeniably a visible stage of that restoration.
It is not the completion of the promise, because the spiritual restoration must still come, but it is the beginning of the physical fulfillment, the dry bones coming together, the nation born in a day, the first phase of the regathering that must occur before the outpouring of the Spirit.
In that sense, I agree with you: the distinction between “fulfillment” and “stage‑setting” becomes almost semantic, because either way, 1948 is God keeping His word to Abraham in the physical dimension of the covenant.

Here let me help you by providing this chunk of Scripture:
Feel free to read any chapter in this glorious grouping of the 60's.

Isaiah 62
Zion's Salvation and New Name
King James Bible Par ▾
1For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
2And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
3Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
5For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
6I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
7And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
9But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
11Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
12And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Yes, that is what I mean.
None of that is about the modern state of Israel.
If your focus was on Jesus, not on Israel,
You would begin to understand prophesy.

God swore an oath and gave the land to the Jews. Period. Everlasting and unconditional. Fighting it won't change God's promises which He will keep.

Nope. That's not what the Bible says. We want to be blessed, then we need to bless Israel.

God has already performed all His promises to Israel.

Have you noticed that God never curses Abraham?
Genesis 12:3 is directed to him personally, that is why the passage uses the personal pronoun so many times.
God blessed Abraham's friends and cursed his enemies.

If the verse was applied to Israel (which did not exist at the time), God would have to curse Himself, because he cursed Israel many times.

To apply the verse to modern Israel is as much of a stretch as to apply it to your cat.

God told Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that their descendants would be brought back from all nations into their land, and 1948 is undeniably a visible stage of that restoration.

I doubt that 1948 has anything to do with it.
Arab Palestinians carry more of Jacob's DNA than Israelis do, yet they were driven from their home.
Criminal behavior in which many Christians continue to be complicit.

It's good to start with a real bible. The words descendants isn't in my bible! Here is an example of a KJV vs a modern bible. There are hundreds of differences. The promises were made to Abraham and his seed.

2 Corinthians 2
King James Version
17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

2 Corinthians 2
New King James Version
17 For we are not, as [a]so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

Genesis 26:4
New King James Version
4 And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

Genesis 26:4
King James Version
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Galatians 3

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
