The beast = Roman Empire (received a wound to the head and lived again)
The whore = The Roman Catholic Church
ECC will be the beast that rises from the sea (people) and will have Germany as the head. They will be a nuclear power this time. There will be no visible demons; they are now invisible and will stay that way. They will drive the world system into a mode of self destruction that only God can stop.
Then yes I began the thread to see others opinions of who was in the abyss then and see if there is another option. I don't see the Jews worshiping Caesar as God but instead they were impious and revolted(Jewish revolt), Egypt,Assyria, Babylon,Medea Persia,Greece Rome ect. were all still then present so who received the wound an was healed? I'll stop here and see what they say...

I just cant see Rome as having received a deadly wound and being in the abyss when Rev.17:8 was written they were in power at that time(no offense).
What I think you are saying bro is the the temple cult/1st century Jerusalem was the beast that was worshiped, it was wounded in the war of 66-70 AD and then healed forming the new Israel of "today".
You must realize that Rev. 17 was a projection into a future time. The abyss is just figurative of obscurity and not a literal place. The locusts from the abyss will not be physical demons as some project, they are and always will be spirits. We need to see the symbolism of the language of Revelation.
