REVELATION CHAPTER 12:1-12 **** "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven--a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars, And she, being with child, cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and, behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seen crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered, to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
I would think we would search for the spiritual meaning of that parable. Comparing that not seen, to that not seen (spiritual to spiritual or faith to faith)
That portion of scripture is virgin bride of our husband Christ, the church. His bride is clothed with the righteousness of Christ, in God .Only His righteousness clothes us with the garment of salvation that did shine as the sun.

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
The moon under her feet ia a sign time a has come to end. Time to consummate the union by reciving our new incoruptble bodies. The victors crown( as a bride adorned herself with her jewels.) Twelve jewels, the authority of God representing all that have been given the Spirit of Christ born again saints) which is also represented by another metaphor to represent a unknown (We walk by faith ) One hundred and forty four thousand.
The bride of Christ as the surrogate mother of us all being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared asa bride adorned for her husband.
Paul is used as a type of mother. Using that seen His flesh to represent that unseen, spriitual work

I am in agreement with you regarding the woman of Revelation 12 as representing the nation Israel, as Gen.37:9-10 absolutely confirms this.
However, the woman "giving birth to the male child" is going to be future event.
The "Male Child" is a collective name for the 144,000 of whom Rev.14:4 states that "these are those who have not defiled themselves with women" which would make them all males, ergo, the male child. These 144,000 are the first fruits to God who will come out of Israel (gives birth to) during the first 3 1/2 years of the seven year period.
Christ is not the male child and that because He does not fit the criteria of the male child.
Male Child: Caught up to God and His throne before the dragon/Satan can devour him.
Jesus: Crucified, resurrected and ascended to God's right hand.
In keeping with the context, Jesus would have been devoured being that he was crucified. In opposition, the dragon/Satan is waiting to devour the woman's child, but the male child is "caught up" to God and His throne before the dragon/Satan can devour him.

The word here is "harpazo" which is defined as a 'snatching away, a catching away, force suddenly exercised.' This is also the same word used when Paul said that he was "caught up" to the third heaven and the same word used when Philip was "snatched away" from the Eunuch by the Spirit. That said, harpazo is the same word used to describe the male child being caught up and are most likely also being changed into their immortal bodies in the same way as the living church.

A different way to look at Rev 12. This is an interesting passage because those whose have a bent towards astral prophecy look for this sign in the sky around the time of Jesus' birth. Now this sign occurs periodically so it is not uncommon, but when you start intersecting all the other astronomical phenomenon and data points then the thought process gets very interesting. The virgin is the constellation virgo in the sky. In ancient astronomy the constellations libra (claws) and scorpion where know as a single constellation at one time and represent the dragon. Back in 3 B.C., Virgo was clothed with the sun for 20-22 days, and during that 20-22 days the moon was under her feet for 80 minutes period. And, it calculates back to September 11, 3 B.C. The possible birthday of Jesus. One data point is on the Jewish calendar September 11, 3 B.C. corresponds to Tshiri 1. What is special about Tshiri 1? Tshiri 1 is New Year's Day on the Jewish Calendar, its called Rosh HaShana (means Head of the Year), the Feast of Trumpets. This was the day the Jews celebrate the inauguration of the new Jewish King. After all that, Virgo is Israel and yes she is giving birth to the Messiah. 12 stars represent the 12 tribes and the Sun and moon represent the father and mother; all this imagery interpretation is found in Gen 37:9-10 from one of Joseph's dreams.

The woman of Rev.12 is not the same as the woman revealed in Rev.17 & 18. You are correct in that, the woman of Rev.12 is representing Israel. But the woman of Rev.17 & 18 is the woman who rides the beast.
The angel told John that the woman is that great city that rules over the kings of the earth, which at that time would have been Rome. The great city is also said to sit on seven hills, which would also be pointing to Rome, for Rome was literally built on and is famous for her seven hills. The woman is also said to be dressed in purple and scarlet, which are the exact colors that are worn by the woman's liturgy, the cardinals and bishops:
Another reason that Israel/Jerusalem cannot be that woman, that great city of Rev.17 & 18, is because the beast and the ten kings destroy her during that last 3 1/2 years, so that no one will ever inhabit that city again (Rev.18:21-23). Where Jerusalem, the city that God loves, is shown to be inhabited during the thousand year reign of Christ right up to the end of the thousand years (Rev.20:7-9).

The woman is the bride of Christ ( the heavenly new Jerusalem ) as the mother of us all. She is clothed with the righteousness of Christ, it is the end of time ,the sun and moon... times keepers are under her, she as a new creation(no longer male or female, Jew and Gentile) she is not after the corrupted flesh of any nation.
She, the one bride is typified by more than one word as name .She is typified as Israel in respect to the Israel, that is Israel(not all Israel is Israel) as the bride of Christ) in the same way a Jew who is an inward Jew born again of the Spirit of Christ ;.
She was renamed by God in the book of Acts to help us keep it related to a city coming down prepared as His eternal bride which is again not after the corrupted flesh of any nationthat he named Christian .A word (Christian) again that God named with no other meaning added to it that means “residents of the city of Christ, (the founder), prepared as His bride.
Just as the suffix "ian" is used to represent other residents of cities. Like Philippians residents of the city of Philippi, named after its founder Philip ,or Galatians etc.

Ok, and she(Israel) brought forth a MAN CHILD. Did you see that? She brought forth ONE, as in a singular male person...not 144,000, but ONE. The word of God says, she brought forth ONE MALE CHILD, that does not mean one male child that represents 144,000, it means ONE MALE CHILD. In order to make one male child into 144,000 male children then you have to add to the word of God because it does not actually say that, if you do not mind adding to the word of God then go for it, I dislike the idea of adding to scripture. Also the male child was to rule with a rod of iron(something said about Christ), and He was caught up to the throne of God(something that happened to Christ). The bible gives no one permission to change one male child into 144,000 male children.
Samuel23, the phrase "Male child" can still represent more than one. It is a moniker representing the 144,000 as the male child. There is only one dragon, but he has seven heads which represent seven hills and seven kings. He also has ten horns which represent ten kings. As I pointed out, Jesus does not fit the criteria of the male child.
No! Christ was not "caught up" to the throne. He was crucified, resurrected and later ascended back into heaven. The Male child is caught up like the living church is at the time of the resurrection. The same word is used "Harpazo" to snatch them up to heaven and that out of the dragons reach.
Why don't you give your spirit over to understanding? The male child is a collective name representing the 144,000 who are all males and who are the first fruits who unbelieving Israel gives birth to.
