I want to do this study because I have heard pastors say “The book of Revelation is not to be understood”
Which is total nonsense. The best way to understand Revelation is to see it as a book of warnings; (1) warnings to believers in chapters 1-3 and (2) warnings to unbelievers and the unrighteous in chapters 4-18. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were released in the first century, and the first five seals have already been opened. The 6th and 7th seal events will take place in the future (which may not be too far off). World events, the Great Reset, and the New World Order will lead to the reign of the Antichrist (Revelation 13) in the not too distant future. All "free" countries have become tyrannies, in anticipation of the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition, the Beast, the Antichrist. This man is the ultimate tyrant and the arch blasphemer of God.

I am so sorry that you are misled. You are right we are in the time of the 5th seal but there is so much for us in the entire book of Revelation. How are you ever going to learn about the mark of the beast that is sealed in your forehead. What is in your forehead? Your mind. How are you going to learn about the 2 witnesses how will you know about when they come. How are you going to know the timing of the return of Jesus Christ if you chapters 4-18. John said blessed are they that read and hear the words of this book.

What kind of a nonsensical response is this? Do you have the Mark of the Beast on your forehead? Is this your idea about a serious study or Revelation?

Luke 17: (tells you what is not seen of spirit working in man who looks and trying to see through flesh and blood)
20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Romans 2:28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Paul also called man is temple so the Rev was John in spirit at the temple in us, Paul was Saul who was blind of spirit inside him, Paul revealed what happen inside us, smart of flesh and blood following OT as secular history that is milk gospel outside, meat is in you Gal 1:11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
2Cor 13:5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 6But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

Rev 22:16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Flesh and blood looks for spiritual they never understand until your wakened.

“Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

every eye shall see him when he returns

The time was at hand. When He revealed this to John, the time was already at hand. He must have returned quickly shortly after this.

A lot of people believe it is (future) Revelation. His return was indeed a future event in the time of John, but it was also "at hand".
Now, if you think 2000 years is "quickly", you need to look a this verse, where Balaam prophecies about Messiah:

Numbers 24:17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

So, if from Balaam to Jesus is "not nigh", neither is from Jesus to us. And Jesus said He would come "quickly" to John.
EXCELLENT, DanielLL! Much of the mystery of the Revelation would be cleared up if people would simply put its context in the proper historical setting--the first century, pre-A.D. 70!

It is interesting that Daniel was told TO seal up the vision because it was for a time many days in the future. Those "many days" were merely hundreds of years. John, however, was told to NOT seal up the vision because the things in it were to happen SHORTLY; the time for fulfillment was NEAR (Rev. 1:1; 3; 22:6, 10). If hundreds of years from Daniel to Jesus' advent was considered FAR OFF, how can thousands of years be thought of as NEAR?

One day with the Lord is as a thousand years with man. So it is shortly in His time frame. It has not even been 21/4 days since Jesus died on the cross in Gods time. 2022 years in mans time.

It's not time except to individual waking with some others, every Covent was not time either to only certain people is flesh and blood looking outside as not understanding of Christ not awake in you, failure is not a concern of Spirit working in man who think their learning which is nothing good or evil matters to Spirit, thought is destroyed in all man by grace and mercy you can't learn by doctrines of dead letters till you experience it then spiritually seed is no longer in need of paper, Romans 2: 28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Paul did nothing from reading like Saul who was physically perfect but failed by thought that makes you mistake the mark inside you that judges grace and mercy that is for flesh and blood that inherent nothing no matter how great you were. Matt 11:11Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Revelation is not about flesh and blood, thoughts are destroyed by Spirit on all man.

I am not saying any thing you can't understand our I am better than anyone, why did Paul remind people to rethink about Jesus Christ being in them is a common mistake we all fall from easy done by looking outside till we grasp it is in us, Paul had to die every day is about just thinking like flesh and blood he knew was milk.

Revelation is what he was able to understand was happening in him, Saul he was looking outside that was milk that even John Baptist who was Greatest born of woman but was still least to least in heaven who at least was looking inside himself. Those needing to be reminded were called least still till it's no longer needed then like Christ was telling his twelve they be able to do more than him just outside them, after believing Christ was outside them it killed milk believing he was just outside and coming back which is inside them not outside anymore.

This makes no since please explain it better.

we can think from the Mind/ knowledge/ Pre-formed Beliefs and ideas about Things, about the Bible, about Life, about any Myriad of Things (Tree of Knowledge), and/ or we can learn to think more from/ with Spirit (the Tree of Life). the Spirit leads how it leads and thinks how it thinks (and maybe even writes how it writes. how it wants to, or wants a person to write - how it is given by the Spirit - told to them - or how they just write it out while listening and writing). it is maybe far different than how one would (might) usually choose to think or write - from what we believe, understand, have read in the Bible, think are right things to say and to speak, to live and to behave in Life, and to think - in theology - Bible knowledge (head knowledge only and understandings from the mind, not Spirit) (Tree of Knowledge).

because it is of God and Truth it can see things quite differently at times than how we (any of us) would usually think or understand... using just our minds (Tree of Knowledge). the Spirit (the Tree of Life) is something very different. though maybe knowledge can/ is involved somehow also .... but the proper knowledge, i guess it might be - knowledge given by God/ Spirit. and i don't know everything about it - because i don't claim to be speaking from the Spirit (Tree of Life) in totality. but just some thoughts on it from what i understand and thought of just now and from my understanding of it. the Bible speaks of a still small voice. so you can imagine what it would be like from that (in a way) to learn/ hear from Spirit. but to hear from Spirit all the time - should maybe be the goal of a Christian. to eat of the Tree of Life ... and to hear from God the Truth - completely. to not wonder about many things any more. to Rest.
