If the story is true that would be my front page story and I would be calling on UN inspectors to come in and see the carnage and I would run parents of these kids calling on Iranians to retaliate against the Americans.

Instead the front page story is about trivial damage done to a historic building, a museum, though none of the valuable artifacts were damaged.

So yes, something definitely does not seem right about this story and without an independent investigation from the UN I don't believe the IRGC.

I suspect if the school was destroyed and the girls were killed it was from a misfiring of a missile that Iran shot.

What I don't understand is how people who are so outraged at collateral damage of innocent civilians in a time of war ignore and excuse Iran firing at residential areas with their missiles.

Khamenei's dead. Iran's running on a 3-person emergency council. That's a knife fight waiting to happen.

The IRGC controls Iran's military, economy, and proxy networks. They're the real power. Always have been.

President Pezeshkian is a "reformist" who won election by promising moderation. He has legitimacy but no muscle.

The judiciary and Guardian Council are hardline clerics who control what laws mean and who can run for office.

These 3 factions hate each other. The only thing holding them together was Khamenei. Now he's gone and Tehran's getting bombed.

IRGC wants total war. Pezeshkian wants negotiations. The clerics want ideological purity. Who wins determines if this war ends or escalates.

My bet? IRGC takes over within weeks. Either through a coup or by sidelining the civilians during "emergency powers." Iran's heading toward military dictatorship.

The moderates can't control the hardliners during war. And hardliners with missiles don't negotiate.

Iran's government isn't just fighting the U.S.

It's fighting itself, too.

If they don't gather together they will have to use phones or internet, both of which they know can be tracked by Israel and the US.

Capitalism is good; predatory capitalism is bad. Trump has made MAGA all about himself and his rich buddies, not America. God can remove him in the blink of an eye and spare America his narcissistic madness.
 
Now we have another story. According to Rubio when he briefed Congress yesterday, Netanyahu told him and the Donald that Israel was going to attack Iran. So instead of trying to talk him down, they decided to join him so no harm would come to US service members stationed in the region. I'm not sure I even believe him; but even if it's true, it has to win the dumbest move ever award. Not only is the US now involved in a totally unnecessary conflict, but our service members are still in harm's way. But if you don't like that story, just wait for tomorrow, there will be a new one.
