I don't believe that those "types and shadows" you mentioned in the OT scriptures, support the idea of 3 raptures.Of course it does. The wheat and the tares. The tares are bundled up and tossed into the fire. That is what happens during the tribulation. The wheat is harvested and taken to the barn, that is a general harvest. But the law of God says before you can have a general harvest there must be the firstfruits offered to God. Shavuot was the feast in which they offered the firstfruits of wheat to God. When Jesus was resurrected others were raised from the dead with Him. That was on the first feast of firstfruits, which is the barley harvest. You are to offer a sheaf of barley to God. That is what Jesus did.
So according to the law of God, first you offer the first fruits to God, then you have the general harvest. Finally, there is the gleanings. That also is in the law, it is for the poor, you are not allowed to harvest everything from your field, you have to leave some for the poor to glean. We see this in Ruth, she gleans after the general harvest.
So that is three reapings: Firstfruits
Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
harvest, and gleanings.
Revelation 14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Revelation 14:4 is focusing on the spiritual purity and total devotion of the church to Jesus Christ. The 144,000 mentioned are seen as a symbolic representation of the entire redeemed people of God, often highlighting their endurance through tribulation rather than a literal group of celibate Jewish men.
The 144,000 are a "token" or "earnest" of a much larger, future harvest of redeemed souls. They represent the consecrated remnant who are set apart for special service and belong entirely to God.
Revelation 14:14 represents the second coming of Jesus Christ to execute final judgment. The "one like a son of man" on a white cloud is recognized as Christ returning to harvest the earth, symbolizing the separation of the righteous from the wicked at the end of the age.
The harvest represents the separation of humanity, (gathering believers first, then the gathering of the wicked for judgment).
The "sharp sickle" indicates that the time of God's patience has ended and the final, righteous judgment has arrived. This is the "fall season" of redemptive history, where the fruits of sin are reaped.
