Furthermore, the astute student understands that Jesus was fully in control of EVERY ASPECT of His own crucifixion.
Down to the tiniest detail and minutiae. Long in advance in eternity past. Furthermore, Jesus was LITERALLY "holding together"
the fists that beat Him and the nails that pierced Him.....and created the people doing it.

Do these "nuances" make any sense to you whatsoever? Because if they do not, you are walking in darkness.

lol, hmm sounds like Determinism.. aka Calvinism.

I know that the son isn't the father. You haven't figured that out yet
Again. You obviously don't believe in the Trinity and the hypostatic union.

Isaiah 9:6~~For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Hebrews 1:8
But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.

Colossians 2:9: "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily".

Galatians 1:1

1 Paul, an apostle — not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead —

Romans 8:11

11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

John 2:19

19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

If course not. Satan, Judas, the Jewish leaders, Herod and the people were fully in control of their OWN will in the matter of the crucifixion. They ALL did according to their OWN will and diabolical schemes.

Don't blame God because He has his OWN will and plans.

The LXX doesn't have "eternal father" in this verse, so I'll go with that because it aligns with everything else in scripture. I'm not denying that the fullness of God dwelt in him, but he wasn't, and isn't the father.

There are many more prophetic passages that indicate this gap.
There are also these UNTIL statements, always ignored by the preterists and historicists.

So now the ball is in your court. Explain if you can these crucial UNTIL statements.

Act 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Act 3:21
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Luk 13:35
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Luk 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Rom 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
They support a gap, but only Hosea 6 tells us specifically that the Lord is going to leave and He will return at the end of 2 days, and Peter tells us that a thousand years is as one day to the Lord. This gives us a powerful Biblical basis to say that no only will there be a gap from the ascension to the Lord's return, but it will be 2,000 years.

Where did he say that? You need to do a word study on the word you think definitively means he raised himself from the dead.

You should quit claiming what Jesus says is a lie. Read this post below...

Jhn 10:17
Therefore doth my Father love me, because *** I *** lay down my life, that *** I *** might take it again.

Jhn 10:18
No man taketh it from me, but *** I *** lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

An apology for your grievous error in this matter is perhaps warranted?

Don't hold your breath

If he apologizes and other members of his religious social club find out about it he'll get the left foot of fellowship by all his religious buddies so he won't be welcome any longer as his member ship in his religious social club will be revoked.

Sadly some people put more value in what people think and believe rather then what the Lord says and so they continue floating downstream with all the other dead fish.

This word in this verse can only be translated as receives, yet you say it has to be translated as takes because it is in the active voice [cue wrong answer game show buzzer]

For every one that asketh receiveth (λαμβάνω); and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:8

Do you believe in the Trinity?

You are comparing John 10:18 And the AUTHORITY of Jesus Christ and a mere human "receiving" something....Apples and oranges.

You are bringing Christ down to a mere mortal plane or raising yourself to the AUTHORITY of Christ.

I have been getting JW vibes from you.

What is your biblical, moral and ethical stance regarding people who are banned from a discussion board website returning, perhaps even several times?
Do you think such people have any credibility?
Asking for a friend.:)

Jesus is the image of the invisible God

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Colossians 1:15

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. —

John 20:28

Thomas responded to him, ‘My Lord and my God! ’ —

Romans 9:5

They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises. The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen. —

Titus 2:13

while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. —

Hebrews 1:8

but to the Son:

Your throne, God,

is for ever and ever,

and the sceptre of your kingdom

is a sceptre of justice. —

Hebrews 1:10

And:

In the beginning, Lord,

you established the earth,

and the heavens are the works of your hands —

2 Peter 1:1

Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ:

To those who have received a faith equal to ours through the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. —

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true one. We are in the true one – that is, in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. —

Isaiah 9:6

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. —

Matthew 1:23

See, the virgin will become pregnant

and give birth to a son,

and they will name him Immanuel,

which is translated ‘God is with us.’ —

The Lord Jesus Christ is God. You seem to be doing your level best to not acknowledge this FACT.

Who would have thought that mingling politics and religion would mean that Christian's would then disagree on when and how prophecy was fulfilled. Some feel it's already fulfilled, others that it's being fulfilled at this time. Some see the POTUS fulfilling Scripture and others do not. And based on the religious belief in the POTUS mind the soldiers stay or the soldiers go.

Acts 13:48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

This verse has been de-Calvinized already many times. The intended meaning in the Greek is quite clear.
And another thing: word order in the Greek is unimportant. In the English, it is very important.
In many cases, the translators messed up the word order in the English.

https://hermeneutics.stackexchange....lieved-been-appointed-or-readied-and-prepared

"When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and the many believers were put in order and organized for eternal life."

Or further anglicized:

"When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and the new believers were prepared for eternal life."
I've never seen anyone butcher a verse of scripture like that before, and I thought I'd seen it all.

I guess it's true what they say, you can twist the meaning of any scripture and make it say whatever you want it to say. You approach the Bible with your mind already made up about everything, so you can't learn anything from the bible, since you already know everything there is to know about it.
