Sounds like Iran is at war with much of the world and doesn't mind blackmailing everyone. That sounds like reasonable behavior. Probably having nuclear bombs and ballistic missiles are safe with them. I'm sure they wouldn't blackmail the world with that.

The US started it and the world knows it. Iran is just using what strategic leverage they have.

Give me a break. Iran has been threatening the destruction of Israel and America for nearly 50 years. The late Khomeini prophesied that Israel would be destroyed by 2040. There was a countdown clock in the co-called Palestine Square in Tehran. It seems that the clock has been destroyed by an Israeli air strike. So much for Allah Akbar.

Iran can end it INSTANTLY by making friendly with Israel, their gulf neighbors the USA.
And they can end the ridiculous charade of blocking Hormuz instantly.

But behind all of this mayhem is the fact that the IRGC command and control system is decentralized.
Nobody in civil government can control the decisions of the various radicalized IRGC warlords.
Its an asylum for the criminally insane being run by the worst of the inmates.

The US took Iranian hostages? The US has committed terrorist acts? The US has used proxies to kill Iranian citizens? The US says death to Iran?

You live in a bubble.

The US has waged war on Iran for 47 years. Crippling sanctions, used Iraq as a proxy in the war against Iran that killed over 750,000 Iranians. You're the one in a bubble.

We gave aid and intel to Iraq while also selling arms to Iran. About 200,000 died. Doomers always exaggerate.

How about answering the questions I actually asked.

Another of the many OT prophecies describing Christ's millenial kingdom that he establishes after he returns.
Right. Headquarters located where?
Ruling over whom? Why?

A recent cross-national study published in The Lancet Global Health estimates that unilateral sanctions are associated with approximately 564,000 deaths per year globally, a figure comparable to total war mortality.

The Lancet

I would say given that sanctions affects the poor, elderly and children causing excess death in that population, and we are looking at almost 50 years 750 000 is a reasonable number.

I was referring exclusively to the Iran-Iraq war that was started by Iraq as a US proxy. They used chemical weapons on Iran that were supplied by the US. This happened in response to the revolution that overthrew the US proxy Shah

"The Iran-Iraq War resulted in approximately 750,000 Iranian deaths, with estimates varying widely. The conflict, which lasted from 1980 to 1988, was marked by extensive military engagements and the use of chemical weapons."

All out war seems inevitable at this point. Nutter hardliner delusional IRGC warlords will be to blame for every needless death. Including that of their own people.

Yes, like Trump said it is a one page peace agreement and it says "unconditional surrender". The IRGC is not going to go for that because as soon as they surrender the charges for genocide would begin.

No need to fret we'll just scratch Iran off the list of possibles and find another nation for US to invade. We don't have the SSS set up automatic yet so it cant be one that's too big like China or nothing. And then again it cant be one that's so small that it makes US look like we invaded the Eskimos either. Give US a bit of time and we'll come up with someone else. https://responsiblestatecraft.org/draft-selective-service/

So much for the advice. Now all we need are two or three hundred thousand troops, hundreds of billions of dollars, a declaration of war and ten or so years of extra time. We could pretend we are winning this or declare to everyone that we already won and go right on paying .35 cents for a gallon of gas, .50 cents for a gallon of milk and a nickel for a loaf of bread and just pretend everything's fantastic, great, wonderful, big,big big big,the best ever. Eskimo's anyone?

""But still, the end result remains: the Saudi establishment is now committing, on the record and in plain language, to a framing in which, while Iran is a "painful neighbor", the U.S. and Israel represent the deeper strategic threat, having tried to engineer their destruction."
"If you had any lingering doubt that this war accelerated the collapse of U.S. influence in the region, this should settle it."

This (https://arabnews.com/node/2642938) is, by any measure, an extraordinary article: Prince Turki Al-Faisal is a son of King Faisal and ran Saudi intelligence (the GID) for over two decades.

He is writing that the plan of "the US-Israeli war on Iran" was "to ignite war between us [Saudi Arabia] and Iran," so that Israel could "impose its will on the region and remained the only actor in our surroundings.

"This further confirms that, contrary to what many have asserted, the notion that the Saudis were quietly backing the war on Iran was a myth (alongside the recent fact the Saudis denied the U.S. access to its bases and airspace: https://x.com/RnaudBertrand/status/2052278721449799991?s=20…).

From the horse's mouth they're literally saying it was as much a war on them as it was on Iran! Pretty crazy when you think about it: this is Saudi Arabia saying that their real enemy in this war was the U.S. and Israel. Hard to overstate how significant a rupture this represents.

Now of course they could be saying so because, seeing how the war turned out, they're trying to retroactively position themselves on the winning side (at least strategically, by saying they didn't take the bait), or trying to justify domestically why they absorbed hits from Iran without retaliating.

And, of course, it's not like they're presenting Iran as some sort of ally here: Prince Turki explicitly calls them a "neighbor" that caused "pains.

"But still, the end result remains: the Saudi establishment is now committing, on the record and in plain language, to a framing in which, while Iran is a "painful neighbor", the U.S. and Israel represent the deeper strategic threat, having tried to engineer their destruction.

If you had any lingering doubt that this war accelerated the collapse of U.S. influence in the region, this should settle it.
