^^^"supposedly" being the key-word. That "us navy vessel" doesn't look much bigger than those speedboats, and I can't imagine escorting a tanker through the straits with a single small boat. A larger vessel like a DDG would not be running away from speedboats that it can turn into swiss cheese very quickly.
