My comment made absolutely no assertion one way or the other about their regime. My point was simply that it is a lie to say you are making peace with the IRGC while at the same time calling for a civil war against them. If the peace treaty is with the insurrectionists against the IRGC then simply say so. If Trump comes out and says "we cannot make peace with the IRGC, they are intransigent, so we support the crown prince and appeal to the Iranians to overthrow the IRGC and then we can make peace", fine, that would be honest. But how long would such a civil war take?

BTW I post numerous links to Toussi TV which is clearly advocating the overthrow of the IRGC.
Fair enough. I have a great deal of trouble understanding Mr Trump's "peace" plan. I also have grave doubts about Mr Trump's honesty. If he is about to throw Israel under the bus, I think his legacy will be that of about the worst American President ever.

They also don’t admit to genocide, so you believe this?

I don't know what happened in the internal conflict.
I know that Iranian and American sources report it radically differently.
I believe that the "peaceful protesters" were armed, because the Israelis have bragged about arming them.
I do not believe that 40,000 people were killed, because if that was the case parts of Tehran would have looked like Gaza before the war with America.

That’s a joke, right!?!

When in reality, he is the best POTUS ever!!

He is the one who stopped the Iranians from building nuclear weapons, and stopped them from continuing to kills their people; helped the Israelis after 7 Oct.; aided the Ukrainians against Russia; he closed the borders, and wiped the U.S. of illegal insurgents (thankfully, is still ongoing); stopped the ridiculous Wokism in the schools and businesses….and a ton of other stuff that I can’t think of right now.

This President has accomplished more in his last term than 10 presidents put together.

Praise Him!!! 🎉
It's still good to be cautious, but indeed it's looking cautiously optimistic, the IRGC has made two major capitulations, on the nuclear program and on the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as anascent ceasefire in Israel and Lebanon as a bonus. Praise Jesus.

No, the President is the joke. He had Iran on the mat and then let them up to continue the fight.

Aided Ukraine? He offered Putin peace deals that Ukraine could not legally accept then blamed Zelensky for not accepting the deals. He did not even ask Zelensky to be involved in the negotiations. He kept belittling Zelensky and has pulled most support from Ukraine. Yes, he is selling weapons to Europe who then provide them to Ukraine. That's good for America's economy.

Don't get me wrong, Mr Trump has done some good things. Ukraine is not on that list and the Iran deal is much worse. Mr Trump rightly pushed NATO into rearming. He's also made a great many enemies in Europe. Then he wonders why they won't help in the Iran conflict. Mockery and insults is not good diplomacy.

America is, in my view, on the slippery slope to international irrelevance. Will Taiwan or South Korea trust Mr Trump? How about Japan? Those nations would be well advised to develop their own nukes; Australia likewise.

Iran now has the opportunity to rearm and restore the capabilities of Hamas and Hezbollah. What happens when Hezbollah attacks Israel yet again? Israel responds, Iran claims the ceasefire is over and it's on again. Iran has only agreed only to negotiate on the Uranium stockpile. Of course, we know how honourable and truthful the Iranian regime is. They pinky promised not to build nukes. Yet there is no civilian use for highly enriched uranium.

Iran's unwavering commitment to destroying Israel has not changed. Neither has their intent to destroy America. So I am not at all optimistic about the future of Iran or America for that matter.

Yes, so amazing at how forgiving and magnanimous the IRGC can be after the US and Israel targeted their leaders and tried to kill them all.

At the very least, they agreed on something (not that I trust them, for anything!). I believe they only agreed, because they’re in dire straights. They’re double tongued, not to be trusted!

Yet neither of twhose countries obey International law or care for civilians, as they have proven many times over.
International law?

Agreed. I dont know what Trump is up to but it would be unchacteristic for him to make a bad deal. Whatever it is, it may well hold until the useful idiots in the U.S. vote in another communist administration, or the way things are going, a muzzie administration. The insanity of muzzies is patient. They have waited a millinium to destroy Israel and now the U.S. Whats two more years?

I know it's frustrating, but at the same time let's not be too negative, keep in mind Trump did much more than anyone ever before him on the issue of Iran and all while the rest of the faithless world basically tried to subvert both Trump and Netanyahu while they themselves did absolutely nothing. I get how you guys want Israel to be secure, and I do too, but let's also face the facts, antisemitism is hardwired into Islam, and unfortunately that's not going to go away so easily. We shouldn't be so deflated or critical of Trump and Netanyahu, we should keep in mind the big accomplishments here, much of the IRGC regime has been winnowed greatly, especially their older Boomer generation, for Israel particularly they have greatly degraded Hezbollah and also extended their northern buffer zone, Iran's nuclear program is set back signifantly, their drone and missile program is greatly degraded, and really the most important issue of the moment is reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Who could have predicted this? Oops, I meant who couldn't have predicted this, let's keep the list short.

Agreed. So why stop now? Finish the job. Muslims respect only force. Capitulating to Iran is the opposite of what is required to gain Muslim respect.

I empathize, but the Strait of Hormuz issue is the pressing issue. It's ironic really because all the people that basically hate USA and Israel need the Strait opened more than we do. Iran needs it re-opened too but their ego doesn't want to admit it, but they can't really suicide their oil industry or that's game over in the most permanant way possible. It's not a matter of trusting them, it's a matter of necessity.

It's only my opinion along with quite a few experts (I'm not one) but I believe that this "deal" will turn out to be a big mistake. I hope I'm proven wrong. I also can't see how Mr Trump can justify gambling Israel's security. Israel is not party to the deal and they have indicated that they will not allow Hezbollah and Hamas to continue their attacks. Neither will they withdraw from Lebanon, contrary to Iran's demands. Iran does not even bother to try and pretend that Hezbollah is not in effect an Iranian army.

It is not clear how Iran will respond. If history is any guide, they will rearm, resupply Hezbollah and continue towards developing nuclear weapons. They will keep on with their plans to destroy Israel. I hope that I'm proven wrong.

While it seems that way, but I'm not so sure, you gotta remember them backstabbing all their neighbors is something that will long outlast the ceasefire. Sure they might rearm, but it's going to take them such a long time to get back to where they were before March. In the meantime, the degrading of their senior leadership is significant too, the younger generations are more inclined to reform and put aside the cultic nonsense, the regime has also been factionalized by this, so though the bulk of the topic might end shortly here, there's still plenty of intrigue here, perhaps a sequel topic will be in order after we see if this ceasefire gets officially signed or falls apart in about a week.
