Should hardcore porn be made illegal n the USA?

Depending on the perspective though being sexually liberated is not a bad thing. Sure on one side pre-marital sex, teen pregnancy, increased std are all negatives, however on the other side a married coupe now have more avenues to explore their sexual relationship together. A lot of sexual practices now werent nearly as common back in say the 70s and 80s.
 
Pornography certainly should be outlawed. That being said, I do not trust the Federal Government to implement this law even if it could be passed; no doubt the Communists would soon declare that Christ on the Cross is pornographic.

The 70's and 80's were the halcyon days of "free" sexual expression.

This isn't really a discussion I can get into on a christian board but there are certain practices that are currently becoming more mainstream that I know even people from the 70s and 80s are shocked by.

But I ascribe it to :"because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold"-Matt.24:12;
and not some new freedom of sexual expression.
Because it takes more and more to 'get one off', as it were.

To be honest though, if its done within marriage it doesnt really matter what people are doing.
 
Although it is immoral, as far as I understand it the Bible does not teach us to create a theocracy so we cannot turn the Bible's morals into laws of the land. If so, we'd have to make it illegal to lie, blaspheme, and even lust etc. If we want to stop these bad things that society is producing, we need to start from the ground up and breach the Gospel and get people giving their lives to Jesus with their own free will, so they don't engage in this behavior when they get older.
 
I agree and yet believe that pornography is but a symptom of the sinful heart. The wages of sin is death. Pornography is just a fruit of that sin. We lust for sexual identity in each other, rather than look for our sexual identity in Christ. You can't blame everything on Satan and his demons and society's influence. At some point, we need to realise our own inherent sinfulness is mostly to blame. Thank God for Christ and his sacrifice!

The issue is you can't force people to be moral, that's why god gave us free will, we need to make the decision ourselves tto not watch it

This is true. You can't force people to be moral, but you can allow them to be immoral. You can write them a permission slip to engage in all kinds of depravity.

Actually, I'm sure there are. I'm sure he disagrees with rape and other forms of coercion, fraud, and theft that are used against people. If two adults want to take part in a non-coercive act, it's their choice. Who are you to tell other people what they should do with their own bodies?

Preach that God frowns upon their actions all you want, but you can't force people to accept God's morals. God is a choice, and you need to let people CHOOSE God, not force them to accept God.

Other people's morals shouldn't concern you enough to use force against them.

If people want to watch or practice hardcore pornography, that's THEIR choice. As long as they aren't using coercion, I don't mind.

When it comes to ethics, I abide by the non-coercion principle. The non-coercion principle allows people to do whatever they want with their own lifestyles and others who consent. Those who wish not to be a part of something, don't have to be. As simple as that.

I agree to an extent. However, what good thing would America lose by giving hard-core pornography? *Struggling to imagine.* I mean, good grief, homosexual marriage is becoming legalized! Maybe this, at least, might accomplish something good? *Still struggling to imagine*.
 
the only thing illegalizing pron would do would be to remove government oversight. Porn will still be made only in far less safe conditions and circumstances.

Rule of law is the wrong approach. If people no longer wanted to buy/consume/view hardcore pornography, the industry would shrivel up and die like a salted snail.
